Just a warning to people watching that if you don’t have the large rear fuse box in the boot then it is relay 8 instead of 11 which in my case was the horn, needless to say I got quite the fright when I bridged them 😂
Had a new clutch put in last year. Getting ready to sell but no ac. THIS was the problem! Jumped it, clutch came on, filled it with 134a and it's ready to go! Just waiting for replacement part to come in.
Mine is exactly the same, worked when we jumped the relay and the clutch and compressor spun as it should but wont without, so where do i go from here?
@@blagoja3294 yes fixed it, so basically the system will not power up if it doesn’t have pressure. It’s a fail safe method. So make sure your system doesn’t have a leak as when they filled my unit they emptied it instead of filling it. After it was refilled was fine
@@JaamesSXi when i tap the relay the AC compressor kicks in and works however when i try to givei t command from inside of the car in the menu the "AC" sign is ticked for 20 seconds and then goes off on its own. ANd also when i give command from inside the AC menu i dont hear the compressor clutch. kick in, it does not start. I have checked fuses wires everything.. the radiator is filled with gas and pressure switches are ok. new compressor is installed... what shuold i do
No, it is just meant to kickstart your AC compressor. If I remember correctly, my AC compressor wouldn't turn on because there was no pressure. I had to bypass the switch in order to turn it on and build pressure. Once the minimum pressure was reached, the compressor worked like normal. No issues with not turning off. It sounds like you might be low on freon/pressure if it works when you touch the two pins together. It means the compressor still works, and you don't have enough pressure in the system to be recognized by the transducer.
In this situation, yes it is. Once I was able to bypass the relay and build up pressure in the system, I put the relay back in and it operated correctly.
@@huckwoody1386 How long did you run it with the bypass? I got mine working with bypass but only ran it for 20 sec a couple of times. Replace relay and not working. Maybe relay is shot?
@@4418CARLOU I can't remember how long I ran it without the relay. Maybe upwards of a minute. You just need to run the bypass long enough so there is enough pressure in the system to trigger the relay. Now this next thing I'll say is just theoretical as I don't know if it'll work. But you could have the pressure gauge(s) hooked to the AC system so you know it doesn't build up too much pressure. That way you could run it until you know there is pressure in the system. I hope that makes sense.

@@blagoja3294 try replacing relay? Or creating a jumper cable to bypass relay and see if it works, if it does new relay needed

It sounds like you might be low on freon/pressure if it works when you touch the two pins together. It means the compressor still works, and you don't have enough pressure in the system to be recognized by the transducer.

You should be able to find your fuse box diagram in the owners manual. Then you can bypass the transducer once you figure out which one it is.
