An absolute LEGEND here in Australia. The rest of the world missed out Guess they're catching up now! Better late than never. All those people singing back at him there in the Audience are now around your parents- maybe your grandparents age! John continued touring and performing for decades and more recently has contributed - with no less vocal strength or quality in various benefit concerts. # Today he is in his 70's, and currently in Rehab following recent extensive surgery to remove an advanced mouth cancer. All Prayers sent in his direction for a full recovery. His sons tell us, he's starting to talk again and immediately began driving his nurses nuts with jokes. 🤣 They tell us he's ALSO been enjoying watching the Reactors worldwide suddenly 'discovering him' on UA-cam, { so you never know! } and is much surprised and heartened by the compliments coming his way. But then he was always a humble guy. { + a great Dad. Look at him here on his final song telling everyone to 'be careful' exiting & driving home from his concert! } The rest of us aren't surprised at all. This cover of The Beatles 'Help' is one of his huge hits, you should try a few more songs from this same concert, 'You're The Voice' and 'Playing To Win' are a couple worth checking out. Jimmy Barnes is just as iconic here with an incredible 50 odd year career also. Between them they hold just about every record they could possible achieve within the music industry here. John Farnham still holds the record for the highest selling song of all time (17times platinum) & that likely will never ever be surpassed.
John is still alive he 73 or 74 years old but he has just gone through surgery for cancer of the mouth. He had part of his jaw removed the surgery was successful and he is still recovering.

I took my 14 yo daughter to a John Farnham concert in Sydney in the early 2000's . She didn't want to go because he was so old fashioned. . She didn't say much , however when we got home she said mum liked John Farnham. Mum had sadly passed a few months earlier. We fired up the old turntable and got mums Farnham LP's . Sat on the couch huddled and cried.

Yes, he is phenomenal! The circular light reflecting through your glasses made for some interesting effects. LOL!

Paul McCartney said John's version of this song was better than theirs. Fun fact: Queen approached him & asked John to be their lead vocalist. He was never after international fame. John can sing any song, any genre, any key, every vowel as vocally perfect everytime. Plus he brings more emotion, charisma & connection to the audience as one could give. Welcome to the rabbit hole of his 50yr career. He is 73 now & unfortunately it's likely he will never be able to sing again. He just had a big chunk of his jaw removed due to throat cancer. His voice however will never be replaced. 50yrs from now people will still be talking about his voice. Keep going with LIVE performances too, it's the only way to react to any Aussie music (when available) & most certainly anything to do with "Farnsey". His voice can only be truly appreciated live.
