Have listened to John for over 30 years and it never gets old. He has so much great music and adapts from decade to decade, I think from memory 5 number1 hits over 5 decades. John can sing anything, any genre. Anything John sings is bound to be great. You really need to do more from John.
Yes, John Lennon wrote it and the Beatles did an up-tempo version (to appease their record company), it was released as a single in July 1965. John Farnham covered it in 1980, Yoko said when JL heard it he said, "that was the way it was meant to sound". Unfortunately, JL was taken from us on 8 December 1980 the same year. 😪
When The Voice smiles at the start, it is like, "Buckle up bitches, here it comes". He was in the stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar here with other top Australian performers. Even they were scared of having to sing alongside him. He is The Voice, so effortless in his singing.
That was a great production. It was done "in the round". John, Angry Anderson, John Stevens, Kate Ceberano, John Waters, Russell Morris. Glad I got to see it.
I’ve only just found your channel…So glad you enjoyed and appreciated our Phenomenal Aussie treasure, John Farnham! I can’t wait for ‘John Farnham’s -finding The voice’ movie to be released in May 2023!🎉❤🎶👌👏🙏👍…Get well soon please John.💐🤞🍀🙏🌈💕🎶
I’m an Aussie and have only just found your channel. John made a conscious decision to retain his base in Australia which was great for us, but sad for the world. He semi-retired now & a lot older than this video depicts him, but he can still belt out a tune. What a talent!
John has been singing for many years. He has provided music for USA movie. His voice is instantly recognised by most Australians. He is a National Treasure and as down to earth as heck.
So love your critique ❤️ So Raw and Real. He has been dazzling us Australians for 54 years If you find his first performance of this song 1980 Royal command performance you will hear his voice at perfection his voice was so clear in the high register back then. These days he may not be able to hold the highs as long but it is as live as it gets and he has so much more power these days, it’s incomparable to any other singer. I mean who could actually sing live that good. He needs no voice doubling no back up singer when he sings the most demanding parts. And He turns 72 in July Yep who wouldn’t be jealous.
I'm a fan and i am definitely aussie. I really love your personality and passion for great music. John has been a greatly loved singer here for over50 years. He is also a great Beatles fan and always does one of their songs at every concert. This is by far my favourite and i believe it is even better than the original.. i went to johns very first concert and his last . He still performs at the ripe old age of 70 and that magic voice has lost none of its beauty or power over all those years. He is indeed one of the most genuine people and performers in the world. What you see is always what you get. We love him. Cheers and love,
Yay! My periodic UA-cam search for Farnsey reactions bore some excellent fruit today ☺️ John truly is a legend, and as a vocalist, almost unparalleled. And he is STILL killing the game today. He sounds almost exactly like this I. 2020, and my man is 70 - SEVENTY. Absolutely iconic.
I just love it when others discover our own John Farnham. He is THE singer's singer and Australia's best kept secret. He can fair dinkum sing circles around anybody on the planet.
Yup. He's the real deal. Always was. Still is! Came out to sing for a Farmers Aid concert only last year! Aged 70+ ! Voice as beautiful & powerful as ever. Just look at that stage presence -that effortless range - perfect pitch & timing. Breath control - microphone technique... Sync not only with a band but with an entire Orchestra. A thoroughly lovely decent down to earth humble bloke who can fill stadiums the country over - but loves just as much to sing in a pub with a few mates. And ALWAYS acknowledges his fellow musicians / performers. Did you think that all that - and humble and courteous too - began with Dimash?! John was Wowing us all over the country long before DQ was a 'twinkle in his father's eye'! :) And on this topic { Yes - I've become 'Dimashified' too) Just think on THIS for just a moment: >>> John did not have a SINGLE singing lesson in his entire life. All natural - all self taught. Pitch perfect - LIVE - every time. 'We' all were kinda gobsmacked when he didn't take off over in The States back in the day - but it's lovely that he's now 'Wowing' a whole new generation of new listeners every day - today. We love showing off our 'show off'. Thanks for sharing our 'Farnsie'.
I've been to several of John's concerts in Melbourne as a kid. He is unbelievable. Such a great performer. Chech out playing to win live. And when the war is over ... that will blow your mind .
Hello, I went to a concert in Brisbane about 2 years ago, John Farnham and Lionel Ritchie. Lionel did a good job, but was just phoning it in and then John came out and blew the roof of the venue. He is now in his 70's and his voice is just as good as ever. John had his first hit in the late '60s called " Sadie the Cleaning Lady ". He hates singing this kitchy song at shows and everybody asked for it as a running joke. Do not put it on your channel, but you might want to look at it yourself for a laugh.
Hey welcome to the family!! Appreciate the sub and support!! Much love to Far North Queensland I've been to Port Douglas, Cairns, Mackay, Townsville, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Bundaberg etc multiple times!! Will be visiting back up North sometime in the near future for sure once things settle back down to normal again. All the best and please stay safe!!😁❤️
John's ability to sing most genres is monumental, as a solo artist he is one of the best in the world; and when he performs with other artists, it steps up a notch. John sings "Please Don't Ask Me" in this same concert, but his duet with Olivia Newton John from The Main Event Concert will lift your soul. John's signature song is "You're The Voice", and is respectfully known as 'The Voice'. Enjoy your journey down this rabbit-hole. Check out his duet with Jimmy Barnes singing "When Something is Wrong With My Baby" from Jimmy's Soul Deep concert. Always watch live performances.
yes its a beatles song, whn john rereleased it john lennon phoned him up n said he liked his version very much n thats how he originally wanted to sing it but v label told him 2 make it into a pop song.
Hun, love the reaction! John has had number 1hits now in five decades, from the sixties onwards The man is now in his seventies and still as good as ever, most recently seen on the bushfire appeal with Olivia Newton John and co. First time viewer, gotta look after a local girl!
Hello .....Aussie from Central Coast NSW here and i too just found your channel... Welcome to the best country in the world , God Bless you My Sister from another Mister 🇦🇺🍻🙏😉
One more Aussie in the family right here ! John Farnham is amazing and has real star power here. He could be huge anywhere ! Peace n love from down under opps which is where you are already ! What state are you in ? I am in Melbourne Victoria.
Your reactions are just sick mate. I'm a 71yo Ozzie dude and I'd love nothing more than to be at a Chisel or Barnsey concert with you, preferably both. They always knock it out of the park.
Another Aussie loving your stuff, girl. Anyone who genuinely appreciates Australian talent as you do is alright by me - LOVE that you've been reacting to Tim Minchin too, who is a freakin' genius. A suggestion if I may...check out an 11 year old (yes, eleven) Australian guitarist named Taj Farrant - you will NOT believe it.
HE IS THE G.O.A.T. THE VOICE according to Freddy Mercury (he was asked to replace Freddy when he passed) but was not able to accept it), Richard Marx. He has performed with Tom Jones, Ray Charles , Celine, Cold Play. John is all heart, soul and love and his live performances are always like this with well over 💯 percent effort put in. 👏🏻 Hope youve seen a lot more of John and Jimmy Barnes by now and your Aussie fan base will grow especialy now. ❤❤
Nice to see you enjoy some farnsey 😁 that voice is just one of those super familiar ones we all grew up listening to. Tho I’ve not heard him for ages. He was childhood friends with my mum actually and grew up across the street from my family so seeing this was also a nice trip down memory lane :) thanks
This is the quintessential’ 80s power ballad; add the power of the fully operational symphony orchestra, and you could orbit with this power! Oh, and you have another Aussie fan!
I have been a big fan here in the states since I first found him. John and Jimmy Barns are my new favorites. When I seen he was doing a Beatles classic cover I was apprehensive, but I think it's great.
Black Dog is just a warmup with his band.... just jammin'. Empty venue in the afternoon, checking the sound levels. As I said.....you'll need a seatbelt !
he's been around since black and white tv... John is Aussie royalty among a few others... check out John and Jimmy Barnes, that will blow your mind girl... a beatles song yup
He was never famous in the states as the record label in the USA said people in America wouldn't get his style so they remixed his songs for usa release
If you really wanna hear John, look at 'See the banners fall' or 'Beyond the call' LIVE please!!! Album versions are good but LIVE is ooooofffff the chain as you Americans put it lol
New Aussie subscriber...John Farnham is how I found you. Am hoping you will do your subscribers and yourself the favour of listening to the Australian version of Bob Dylan called Paul Kelly and I suggest starting with one the following two songs 'How to make gravy' and 'Dumb Things'
Hey Dalasa!! Glad you are enjoying the channel!! Will be doing back some sort of meet and greets and car meets once things start getting back to normal. Appreciate the support all the best!!😊❤
I don't a human can project his voice any better than this

He is now in his 70's and his voice has not deteriorated at all. Listen to his album "Whispering Jack" to fully appreciate his talent..

John Farnham is a God in Oz. His voice is epic. Can you imagine him and Whitney Houston doing a duet when at their peak. It would be AMAZING.
Think this was back in 87, he’s one of the best vocalists of all time, check his other songs out especially Your the Voice.
Recorded in 89.
Wow!!!! Look at that insanely big adiuence. That says a lot about his greatness.
Wow that was incredible 🤯. Thank you Faith and thank you Janelle for this great request ❤️

He was never famous in the states as the record label in the USA said people in America wouldn't get his style so they remixed his songs for usa release
I suspect he would have spent some time in the US with LRB....
His band doesn't have a harp. BUT the Melbourne SYMPHONY orchestra has a harp.
