As a soldier I really have no problem with this video except the whole bombs part.
If you ever want to try another MRE try the chili or the spaghetti in meat sauce! Those are really good hahah

My dad is in the army and would bring these home from time to time. I've eaten quite a few just to try them and I have to say, IM APPALLED we feed this to our soldiers. Some are okay, but most are not. They need to come up with something much better for people that risk their lives for our country. My dad says you have to eat them in moderation EVEN IN WARTIME because they mess up your stomach and cause severe cramps.
Lady Dambrose these are chemically balanced to sustain a solider for a day in the field. These things keep you going. Some might be nasty, but it's better than the c rations peiple used to have.

They make sure they’ll be fed. The amount of calories in one of these is enough for an entire day. Just because it doesn’t taste great doesn’t mean they won’t eat it. These are for the field, they’re not gonna whip out a gourmet meal.

Sam Volkert okay I'm curious about this haha, my boyfriend is a marine and ALL of the guys in his unit say it isn't a laxative gum at all but then other people say it is. I've only eaten a few MRE's before but never the gum bc I'm scared lol is it really a laxative gum or is that just something people say to freak other people out lol
both of my brothers are in the army and i knoe alot of other people who are in the military and they all have told me to not eat the gum because it is.. we have pranked people with them and sent them running for the bathroom.

I don't find this disrespectful at all. In fact it brought up good memories of when I was in the Military. I was just a PV2 in the Army Reserves having to eat MRE'S sometimes for breakfast, lunch, and diner cause my company didn't order Hot A's. (Hot food served to soldiers while they are in field). But everyone's in titled to their opinions. But girl I loved this video. But don't use your Heater indoors girl.

I remember eating these after Hurricane Katrina. They really aren't that bad. You find ways to doctor them up to taste better. I remember when you'd go to a distribution center about every other day for ice and water and sometimes other household things, you'd get a few boxes of these and you felt like you had a 5 star meal. We thanked the military so much for bringing them to us here. They were a lifesaver!

Some of you are being completely ridiculous. My husband was in the military, do you think those men and women give two shits that a UA-camr is making a video about tasting MREs? There are a ton of videos on YT of other people doing it. I swear some of you get on this videos just to put Sam down and jump down her throat. 80% of you probably didn't even watch past the first 2 minutes.

I think the term "disrespect" has been used so many times on her videos that the word has almost lost its meaning- after all if everything you did was deemed "disrespectful" and you didn't see why I think many of us would come to the same conclusion that no matter what we did it'd get hate. I don't know what I would do in her position and while I don't always agree with her I give her props for bouncing back every time. I think she has a number of younger audience members who may seem the term "disrespect" and come to that assumption too based on the input of others instead of making their own minds. Whilst disrespect is relative to each person I do think we seek approval from peers and so may try to relate to them by agreeing with an opinion. Either way, I agree people get offended with Sam over almost everything, I think maybe it comes with the territory of being a UA-camr and in the eye of the public. Whilst soldiers spare themselves for their countries and of course it's greatly appreciated I do think they have bigger fish to fry than a young lady on UA-cam who is going to offend no matter what she does at any given time

No joke when my soldier and I first got married we were so broke we ate MRE's for like 2 weeks and I gained like 8lbs lol Very unfortunate situation but wouldn't change a thing.

Oh yeah they are way better nowadays. One of my teachers had some (her husband was in the service) and she brought it to school. We tried different stuff, but it wasn’t that good, Now my ex husband was a Marine and the ones we had were really good

Sam to be honest, I have always found your videos entertaining, but as a partner to a soldier, I did find this disrespectful. While I fully believe he wouldn't give you the time of day as he is very rarely bothered by anything (he's pretty much in a constant state of--if you aren't my woman or my loved ones, F off with no patience for BS. Period lol.) he does go days where he will not eat because some of the MRE's they provide soldiers are nasty. They are processed, heavily for the most part, but some are better than others. In his current location he's lucky if he gets a warm meal once every 24-40 hour shift he works. Yes, he works 24 hrs to 40 hour shifts, and is actively deployed. BUT in worst case he will eat any of the MRE's especially when you have to chose between drinking your own urine and eating your own fecal matter. I guess that's why this video bothered me. You really have no idea what soldiers go through. It doesn't matter if your Army, Navy, Marine's, some have it worse, some better, but never forget the sacrificed all of these men and women make. It's truly heart breaking to be away from everything you're familiar with for such long periods of time and then coming home only to find that everything has changed. Life goes on for us here safe and living a very privileged life with all the comforts of home. And for those of us with a deployed partner we live for those moments where we can spend time with our beau and I personally am heart broken every time I hear him tell me he has to eat one of those MRE's because shipment hasn't come in. Stuff gets lost, delayed, and stolen. As someone growing up in an impoverished household eating dented can goods, I can definately say I appreciate what I have, and what food I have especially. But I still can't imagine what he's been through and how many millions of soldiers have to eat processed high calorie food in bags just to survive when I'm at home cooking up eggs, bacon, potatoes with a side salad. To me that simple meal is a feast and I'm still just very concerned for what governments are feeding our soldiers. I hope things get better and not worse for everyone who's serving, and for everyone who has a soldier in their life.

My husband was serving during a humanitarian effort in South America and, towards the middle of the tour, supplies ran so low they were only allowed one MRE per day. They were skin and bones when they returned home. Samantha should join the military. She might learn something about life and loss.

I got very offended with you saying that you were a "soldier". A soldier actually fights for their country. Like I still love you and will continue to watch your channel but just please watch what you say. My father was near a bomb when it had gone off and got very injured from it. He's incredibly lucky to be alive and that my friend is a SOLDIER. Just like everyone else that serves their country. My grandfather was in the Navy and he was caught in a hurricane. Something could have easily happened to him. I know you weren't meaning it like seriously but things like that are very touchy to people. I'm proud of everyone who serves. When I was a kid my father was in the military. He would leave for weekends and sometimes a few weekends at a time to go train soldiers and when he would come home he would bring home MRE's. My brothers and I loved having them. The food is so tasty and they last a heck of a long time.
