Yo MD, I've recently set up a new tank and opted for the LED floodlight you use on the majority of your tanks. My only concern is, they do get a bit warm. I have a lid on my tank and I've not attached the light to the underneath as I'm a bit worried it'll get to hot and maybe damage the glass. I'm just looking for your opinion, have you used any of the LED lights under any covers?

The betta is loving that big open pod on the left!! Perfect choice to include that item in the botanicals! Wish I lived in UK and had Maidenhead Aquatics nearby! Can’t wait to see this tank progress a bit with little darker water and see the dwarf hair grass growth. Great build MD!

I’ve seen a good few of your videos now, what I like most is your consistency. Every set-up has the same good foundation and then you modify from there. I’ve never kept fish before but this makes me think I can have a go as long as I make sure the basics are all in place and I keep on top of water testing.
The way you and Matt bounce off each other is pure quality, only complaint I have is I now have an addiction to aquascaping since discovering your channel and now am looking at getting a 2nd tank

This is lovely, quite similar to my set up for my female koi betta. Re male bettas and other fish - any crowntail or similar is safe to house with other species. They can't swim fast enough to threaten anything! I'm more careful with Plakat, those guys can move!

I've been watching your videos for maybe 3-4 years now, and I just bought my first Betta fish! Thank you for your guides and inspiration!
I wish channels like this were around back when I was serious about keeping fish. A friend got me into the hobby but watching your videos showed me just how little he really knew. Now I live so far away from an actual fish/aquarium store it would take me 4 hours round trip to get to the nearest store. Not sure I could do it successfully by mail/online now though.
that detail gravel on top of gravel on top of capping sand on top of aquasoil that's under botanicals and cant be seen looks awesome MD. Great build, looks really natural

You should try out keeping wild type bettas, theyre so beautiful. There are also other species of bettas, i personally keep betta imbellis, and plan to keep alien bettas soon.

It’s great to see Hellboy! I have a betta that lived alone for over a year, and when I put him in a slightly larger tank, I gave him half a dozen neon tetras to live with and it’s gone swimmingly

I was looking for those bio media mesh bags and they costs quite a lot when u buy lots, after searching alternatives, i found that you just use “laundry nets” and they costs way cheaper, just a tip. I live in indonesia tho idk about other countries.

Ah man so glad you did a betta setup. You’ve made me want to rip mine apart and start again. Can’t wait for updates on this tank. I’ve got a 60L. with hood and light and am so tempted to rip that hood of and put on some overhead lights they look amazing.
I love that you named him hellboy lol that’s one of my favourite betta colour variation (next to samurai) I have a female hellboy and she’s a big goofball.

It’s such a beautiful tank! I was just wondering if those twigs are sharp at all? I couldn’t tell from the video and those can really hurt a betta’s fins. Even the short-finned ones. Again I loved the tank I was just a little concerned

Beautiful betta ! Please watch that he doesn't get stuck in one of those seed pod things. Bettas are famous for trying to fit into weird places. You do beautiful scapes but with all the stuff you put in there, it cuts down on the water space. I prefer to let them have room to roam. It looks pretty but to crowded for me

I used used builders sand (you need to wash it multiple times) an old dead tree branch (you need to weigh it down) and then Google house plants that can grow submurged. My tank looks so natural, like an Amazon jungle and it was almost nothing. My beta loves it. I wish u guys could see
