Thank you for another great video! I've been following you for the past two years - since the very first videos, one of which was a response to my question on whether to target SMEs vs. big corporates in consulting :) I have worked on several consulting projects since then, with a firm that is specialized in SME consulting. I even experienced first-hand some of the aspects that you mentioned on SMEs in the video. You gave some solid advice at the time. So I just wanted to say hi, grateful that you are making these videos, and hope you are well!
Great video ! Been in Supply Chain and logistics consulting for 4 years. I used to take up everything thinking I knew everything! But now I stick to my lane and like you said I now refer someone else who I know would be a great fit on that subject. Next year it will be about building a Team! Great advise !
Great video once again. Building a team has been a challenge for me. My former staff apparently want to compete with me once they leave. Do you know how I can address this challenge? I would be grateful if you could make a video on that.
It's a very common issue. Very! I think quite simply you have to make it more attractive to stay, than to leave. In 25 years I don't think any of my team have left to compete with us. But to take up corporate roles. Whereas the first consulting company I worked for, almost everyone who left, started their own consulting business! You have to ask why?
I'm sorry, but I don't have much experience of online businesses. I have tried a few. But it's a totally different thing to selling management consulting. There's a lot of hype out there about making your fortune online. So many coaches claim to be experts at it. But few in my experience can actually do it. It's really a question of understanding your market need (pain point), how your solution / product helps them, and telling that story. Quite simple really. I honestly would not be able to recommend a specific book on it. I have read dozens over the years, and attended mana many coaching programs. I gleaned a bit here and there from each. But no single one stood out. Best to become an avid reader and video watcher! And find advice that seems to match your need.
Imposter Syndrome. Yes it's a thing in management consulting. How have you overcome it?

A common mistake for newbies. We all do it! 🙂
Great to have a new video - I love these and it’s been too long! 😉
Glad you like them! I'll try to do a few more
