This is a brilliantly edited video. It's amazing to me how well you balanced the sound despite filming in so many different locations. Also, the script flowed even though you rotated between locations. Seriously, the editing here is absolute goals for me.

It's a relief to hear someone talk about the realities of an office job vs being an entrepreneur.
It's a big risk to work for yourself. It takes someone with a certain stuff to handle it all because of the reasons you gave.

Dude, congratulations! Me and I'm sure everyone else here loves this transition for you. Oh and if you ever decide to move on from UA-cam, all of these skills are relevant and transferrable to any career you desire. Not only do you have a top tier education with an incredibly in-demand skill set, you've just added a ton more by starting and maintaining your own business, as well as editing, sound, video, and a ton more. Definitely not worried aboutcha - you're killing it.

Honestly that feels ideal. You still stay on the corporate ladder and get professional growth but you get a full "summer vacation" in between the jobs. I do wish taking off a few months between jobs (if financially feasible of course) was more normalized, definitely seems key to not burning out in the long term.

Taylor, you're right about the importance of workspaces providing common goals and sense of community. Many of us are feeling that lack post-pandemic. I think as a society we've got to figure out a way to generate those spaces without tying them to corporate entities. There must be some level of space between standard 9-5 structured corporate office and fully public NYC Sunday coffee shop vibe. Congrats on the job move! I've done it 3x myself in three years and don't regret a thing.

But in May-June, I worked as Teaching Assistant for an accelerated learning bootcamp with other co-workers. And the happiness levels were through the roof even though I was literally working 3-4x harder. I'm back 2 weeks and the social isolation is back (haven't seen the sun in 11 days).

This whole concept of taking back control of your time can really be a double-edged sword imo. Digital nomads, or so they're called, seem to have so much control of their time and schedule but yet find themselves quite isolated. The whole concept of reaching objectives with other individuals has literally been ingrained in our DNA. It's great having UA-cam on the side - I mean so many perks. But loads to evaluate before everyone just wants to go on their own the first instance they get. Great video, best of luck for what's ahead!

As a boomer, watching this video both terrified me and inspired me. While there are so many downsides to going the unstructured route, to me it sounds like the solution to so much of what is happening to jobs in the developed world these days. Steady, decent paying 9-5 jobs are slowly going away due to globalization, AI, technology, etc....White collar jobs and evaporating right and left. If someone has the guts and wits to go it on their own and carve out their own niche, they will be a survivor to whatever happens in our economy. If you are able and inspired to go your own way and craft your own job, I think you should seriously consider taking the leap.

    • @Mike-dd8bd
      @Mike-dd8bd 2 роки тому +3

It’s definitely not the solution for the vast majority of people. A steady 9-5 with vacation time, 401k and benefits is what most of us should strive for. The women in the video probably has a decent degree, Resume, job experience, no kids of course, and already making money on UA-cam. The only thing these videos do is give the unexceptional false hope.

Also just do it part time for a while til it builds up! It will eventually.. just keep at it! I started mine and I keep taking breaks.. This is the best thing young generations can do. As a full time entrepreneur going on 9 years straight (I wholesale & flip 🏡) I can honestly say the Freedom is truly bliss.
I find wearing what I want, walking outside when I want, going to the beach when I want is so fulfilling. Although it’s been ups and downs at times, mainly bc of bad habits and having to grow up some… I’m too grateful to have found this path. Never would I ever want to work for anyone ever
My pro tip would be focus on your strengths MORE than you do now and or outsource them out. 😁🥳 Continue to learn and spend money on getting a mentor or two in your space. This will always help hedge against and ever evolving economy, industry, and society.

It is my first video on your channel, and believe me I just fell in love with your content (and maybe you too ;). The pacing of your video and the way you pan in out of the frames were simply perfect.
the transition between different frames and B Rolls at different locations was smoother than butter. And I really don't think that I need to speak anything about the frames and script( structure ) of the video.
Believe me, your content at this stage is far above and beyond the quality of content that's present right now on youtube. and I really think that you will not only be a great youtube but you will go at great heights in the whole entertainment / content creating Industry

Was a management consultant for 7 years. Loved it. Loved the people I was worked with. Did the executive corporate thing for several years. Didn't love that so much. Started my own internet marketing company in 2000. So I've been doing the solo internet thingy for 22 years now. I've got a silver youtube plaque for a side project. Here's some thoughts. Working on the internet can be very lonely. When you have a family, the freedom is a blessing. Right now you do lifestyle videos. But if you slowly move your channel to a niche, like personal development, then you can create information products and coaching programs and make a TON LOAD of money with youtube. Just look at what Clark Kegley has done. He started doing lifestyle videos and eventually moved to personal development. Perhaps, get a life coaching certification and start a relationship coaching biz. You have a great following. It's a GOLD MINE if you turn it into a real business ventures with products and programs to sell. Anyways, just a thought. You have the personality and business acumen to do it. You're great on camera!

If I had to guess, I'd say you worked at McKinsey. You are super intelligent and I look forward to continuing to watch your channel ... I think your next move will be into some type of marketing, although I could see a finance channel being interested in you, like Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business. Best wishes always, XoXo.

The sad part about taking risks is you only feel good about them after you've succeeded.
It should ideally be fun and exciting but because of essentials like money and food, there's always a nervousness attached.
I hope you do well in your new job. I left India and came to the USA on a potential 70,000$ loan for my Masters and I graduated with only 16,000$ debt because I just worked hard and got an internship at a big tech company and they paid 55% of my Masters tuition through salary and the rest I took from my family and started to pay them off.
