    May I ask what kind of papers you are using? I'm currently using a Canson universal sketchbook, and it is starting to make the tombow dual brush pen fray a little bit. It maybe because I'm pressing too hard but either way the small fray is making it hard for me to do the thin strokes.

      +Alan NGO Hi! I used a Rhodia grid pad (amzn.to/1llNBoP). Very smooth paper - it's my best recommendation for brush pens, especially to avoid fraying.
      But if you still find issues with fraying, it could be due to the way you are holding your pen. Check out my tips for holding the pen at the proper angle and in the correct direction to eliminate fraying (piecescalligraphy.com/learn). Let me know if that helps! Thanks, Alan.

    I finished watching your basic stroke videos. They are so helpful in understanding how each letter is broken down. Can't wait for more videos! In the mean time, practice, practice, practice... :)

    hello sharisse! (love your name by the way ) I've stuck through this series and I've improved sososo much!! I've been looking for many tutorials and I'm glad I found your channel, you've helped me a lot thank you.(: by the way I have two questions; what is the name of the dotted paper that you have used in previous videos? and also what brush pens would you recommend to buy?

    • @piecescalligraphy
      @piecescalligraphy  8 років тому

      +gissellesabine Aww, thank you so much! I am super proud of you for sticking with the series. To answer your questions:
      The paper is a Rhodia grid pad. The pens I would recommend are the Tombow dual brush pens, Tombow Fudenosuke soft or hard tip, and Pentel sign pen with a brush tip. I JUST posted a review of five brush pens - check it out! Hope that helps. :)

    Hi! I just found you channel a few hours ago and have been watching your videos and practising ever since. I'm far from satisfied with my basic strokes yet but as I'm trying to connect them into letters, I feel like I'm missing something when I try to do words. Can you please to a video on the strokes that are not basic strokes? Like the ones used to write *s*, or *r*, or the curvy part in *p*...? That would be so helpful! Thanks in advance! And by the way, I'm really loving your videos so far! :)

      +Ida Eriksson Hi Ida! Yes! My goal is to roll out a new series on letters. Did you see my latest blog post and video on connecting the basic strokes to form letters? I didn't go into each letter yet, but plan to do so soon. Also, I have a free printable worksheet on my blog that contains all of my lowercase letters! Take a look and let me know what you think: piecescalligraphy.com/learn. Happy writing!
