There's that whole Leif Erickson group that made it over way before pilgrims did, Christopher Columbus would have spoken Dutch or Spanish, Conquistadors and missionaries were also majority Spanish speaking, and then there were native tribes already residing here. So it's more or less no the first Americans, it was more of the first people who officially migrated for reasons that were not exploration and discovery spoke an Anglo-Germanic based language now generalized as English. But it's really not simple math. There was a really big push from some of the founding fathers, namely one Benny Franklin, to have German be the official national language of the emerging country. It's really more of a concerted effort to not have an official language (which the USA doesn't have) and really 0 effort to push any other language to the fore front of business and technology.
Here in the US a Margherita pizza is fresh Buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, and fresh basil and a cheese pizza is tomato sauce & shredded mozz. So the two are completely diff pizzas for us.
You're a little bit off with your description. The Margarita pizza here in America is not required to have Buffalo Mazzarella, And actually, it's rarely made with that kind of mozzarella. And that's because Buffalo style is a little bit more expensive. And pizza joints are all about making money. What you were saying was? What is a proper Margarita pizza? Whereas most of the joints in America don't take that into account.

All my life I thought the same, going back to my mother insisting on PizzaPizza in the 80's because it was dirt cheap. That was until someone offered me Dominos. I previously had never had Dominos. I never thought pizza could get worse than Little Caesars. It was shocking.
@@mrodg88 there are some one-offs for sure that are horrible but generally pizza hut and dominos are seen as #1 and #2. Some people swear by papa john's. I have never heard anyone say they love Little Caesar's over any other though lol.

Little Ceasers is FROM the Detroit area. And Detroit style pizza DOESN'T have the sauce on top. Chicago style pizza has the sauce on top. The thick crust, square shape and cheese that gets crispy on the edges is what makes it Detroit Style.
Jets is probably the best Michigan based Detroit style pizza place tbh. I know Buddys gets mentioned buts it way overpriced and honestly not as good as Jets.

Hawaiian pizza is from Canada and can have ham or bacon. Also in the US, you can get Canadian bacon, which is ham. Gammon sounds like a Japanese movie monster.
To call Little Caesars Italian would be a crime. Little Caesars is the cheapest pizza you can get in the US from the main pizza restaurants and they taste the cheapest too. It's like the fast food restaurant of pizzas. Little Caesars tastes great though, don't get me wrong.
Little Ceasars is definitely the "on a budget" pizza. For about a decade or more you could get a large pepperoni for $5. It wasn't until a couple of years ago it went to $7, which is still cheaper than other fast food pizza places. But to be fair, it's pretty good for the price.
My FIRST job was at Little Skeezers! Back then they advertised 2 pizzas for the price of 1, and they came side by side on a single cardboard slab then slid into a paper cover and stapled shut, that's pizza pizza!
There are over 4,000 Little Caesar's locations in over 2200 cities in all 50 states in the US. It's pretty easy to find one over here. I have one in walking distance. It's not the best fast food pizza but it's not the worst either. Economically speaking though, it's probably one of the least expensive. The thin crust is really good. The crazy bread is also really good and very popular. It's different from Olive Garden in that it is coated with a lot more garlic butter and lots of Parmesan cheese. I remember when an order was just 99¢. That was back when you always got two pizzas when you ordered just one. Sounds weird today but you can check out the old commercials to see it was a real thing.

Omg the British Little Caesars didn’t look appetizing at all. I love Little Caesars. The fact you can get a large pizza with pepperoni or cheese for 5 dollars is why its so popular. Personally I get a cheese hot n ready, if I get crazy bread I get the white garlic dipping sauce.

edit: if you guys dont have "starry soda" do you still have sierra mist? what is your pepsi branded Lemon lime soda in the UK? i miss sierra mist honestly. we also have redonions i'm pretty sure unless that was just during the supply chain crisis after covid. little caesars is hands down the best pizza chain in my opinion not only are they the cheapest but i think they taste the best (especially if your location is like ours where they only make pizzas to order and don't just have them sitting ready) they are absolutely worth a try they are better than dominoes or papa johns if you have them too.
Please keep this in mind about USA portion sizes, with so many competing restaurants in an area, owners thought the best way to compete is to offer more for your money you know the old value for money thing, and over the years it just sort of got out of hand and it has remained so.
I find it interesting that alot of the worst fast food places in US is the best in the UK. KFC is like ther last place people want to go eat in the US meanwhile it is very popular over there. As far as Pizza goes, I will usually go to MOD Pizza (idk if they have that in the UK) Its like subway but for pizza.
Why go to Little Cesars when Dominos has their medium 2 topping pizzas for $6.99 USD when purchasing another item (pizza, salad, huge 8 piece brownie order, chicken wings [bone-in or boneless], or any of several other items on their website coupon order site? At least half a dozen pizza sauces (alfredo, marinara, tomato, etc.), crusts (thin, pan, regular), meats, vegetables, etcetera. Much, much larger variety of everything that Little Cesars doesn't even come close to offering. And I'm just a customer. Sadly, I'm not even getting a free pizza out of this comment😂.
I have never bought from Little Ceasars. I do, however, have friends who will pick it up for their kids, for a quick meal. It's cheap, so you can get a lot to feed a lot.
Little Caesars is fine, similar to Cici's imo. A cheap pizza that's just "OK." Day old pizza to me needs a sauce. I re-bake my pizza slices in a toaster oven and sometimes the crust gets really chewy so the sauces save it. Domino's frequently has sales for $5 when you buy 2 or more medium pizzas/sandwiches. It's the cheapest I've seen for delivery.
I remember having a Little Ceasars when our town got one. We had a coupon, so we got them because they were super cheap compared to other places. But, you get what you pay for. One of the worst pizza chains I've had. But I would say it's still edible.
Margherita pizza is Italian and different from a standard Cheese pizza, and we have them in the US all over. It's made with fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, olive oil, salt, dough. IMO it's definitely not as good tasting as Cheese & Pepperoni but some people prefer it, it's a healthier option. It's still perfectly fine, but has a specific taste. Also, I'm in the camp that doesn't dip pizza into sauce, but I'm sure it's great, like the garlic sauce or the buffalo or blue cheese adds to the flavor. Sometimes the crust/bread taste can be overwhelming/bland, or it tastes a bit like cardboard so the sauce fixes that. It costs a little extra to get sauce, so I don't normally bother. Maybe next time I'll try some sauce.
Just don't let the pizza get cold, it isn't redeemable afterwards. If you come to the US don't get the "Butter Garlic Sauce" from Domino's, you will be very disappointed. Papa John's has the best Garlic Butter of the chain pizza places, but they aren't everywhere.
I've had Little Caesars a few times in Canada. It is very wet/doughly. But its cheap, so... Swings and roundabouts. The HotNFresh is tssty for its price
To be fair, Little Ceasars is like the cheapest carry out pizza in the US. For the price of crappy frozen pizza you can get a fresh made pizza from Ceasars. What you want for $8. When i was in high school in early 80's Little Ceasars Crazy Bread was the best. I'm not sure it's still any good
To be absolutely clear, and this is something that's often not known/forgotten, Little Caesar's is not a pizza franchise that is holding its own. It's a subsidiary of a distribution company that is half decent pizza. So if it's half decent here in the USA, you can bet your nanny's farthing that it's sub half decent over in the UK. That's why they can do the $5 Hot-'n-Ready pizzas. They are subsidized by their super successful food distribution parent company. It works for a lot of us for a cheap meal option, but I just don't think they have that strong of an influence in the UK to have the same kind of appeal. Also, I cannot stand Domino's. Their cheese does not reheat at all. You have the misfortune of having any leftovers at all, that's it. That is now garbage. Next time you try to reheat a slice of Domino's pay attention to the cheese. Does it actually melt and change shape and flow or does it just heat up and retain the exact same shape it was refrigerated in? My experience has always been the latter and all that tells me is that they're getting funky cheese and trying to pawn that off as quality.
My wife and I are pretty lucky. As far as Little Caesars, pizza goes. I'm basically stating that for the fact that it is only one mile from our home. And when you add the fact that the pizza is only five dollars. I will admit I was a little confused when I learned that. You can get an old cheese pizza or an all pepperoni cheese pizza, And they're both $5. So if you like pepperoni, you're getting it all for free. Well, essentially for free. Add all that to the fact that Little Caesars is the only pizza place in America. That does the hot and ready meaning. If you buy any of their basic pizzas when you walk through the door there's already one made and waiting for you without ordering it in advance. And I bet you there's nowhere in the Uk That you can get a large pizza for $5.
Aidan is right about Hawaiian pizza, it's usually ham on it, not bacon. We have a Little Caesar's down the road and my girlfriend runs down there for a pizza on the regular. I prefer Domino's or Papa Johns or even Pizza Hut... but Little Caesar's isn't bad.
Hawaiian pizza can be made with pizza sauce or bbq sauce as the base then for toppings you have “Ham/Canadian Bacon”, pineapple and Streaky American bacon that is broken up into small pieces.
Menus do say "cheese pizza" but I usually ask for "plain cheese" pizza to indicate no toppings. Fancy places call it Margherita but that conotes imported or fresh buffala mozzarella, probably fresh pear tomato and other upscale ingredients.
If you're having pizza for dinner you don't even bother considering the calories. That's like getting us the statistics on the burgers and fries at McDonald's. No one goes to McDonald's to lower their calorie intake. And for that same reason, nobody in America gets pizza and cares about the nutrition. What you care about is How often you indulge yourself in pizza.

Little Ceasers is a diamond dozen in the states. Their pizza is cheap and they’re famous for their five dollar hot and ready. They’re not five dollars anymore though I think they’re six.
The only Little Caesars pizza I've ever had was that Bacon Wrapped monstrosity they had some years ago. Which was actually pretty kick ass for such low tier brand.
Little caesars definitely ranks higher then Dominos. Unfortunately Dominos is pretty bad. The pizza is very low quality. Last time I ordered the Pacific veggie they put maybe 5 single toppings on the whole pizza and all 5 were on one slice. The bread knots are trash compared to the bread sticks. The wings are full of chunks of fat. Little caesars can be bad when its not made well but overall its made better. The crazy bread is probably the item on the menu that is most often not made well. The Italian Cheese Bread is always made well.
Hawaiian is ham and pineapple. I don't know if he got it wrong or Little Caesars does it different. Or maybe it's Canadian bacon which is basically ham, but that might be why he called it bacon. Either way, it's never American bacon
That is not a Margherita pizza. It is made in the traditional Italian way with blobs of fresh mozzarella. That was just a cheese pizza which is made with that shredded cheese...Little Cesars is the ABSOLUTE CHOICE anybody would make. It is CHEAP and NASTY!!! But if you're hungry and broke, you'll eat it. Cardboard pizza at its best.
I don't really see the issue with the high calories and salt. If you're not drowning yourself in high everything food and drink throughout the day, and you're somewhat physically active, it won't wipe most people out. It doesn't take much to keep an eye on nutritional values, yet so many people here in the US legit don't care. I'm the only one in my family that pays attention to nutritional values and my mom's a freakin' diabetic! I'm basically an unpaid caregiver and need to keep track of her behavior in case she overdoes it and forgets her insulin.

I'm with G on this one. Dipping pizza into another sauce is just so weird to me lol. I want my pizza to taste like pizza, not like a condiment. Also, in the US cheese is predominantly more an ingredient and less a topping, so when we say "Cheese Pizza" it's basically just the name for a toppingless pizza.
I won’t dip pizza into a cheesy butter sauce but I will always dip pizza into ranch. Specifically Hidden Valley. I didn’t like pizza until I had it with ranch. I also love the hot and cold combination

Generally, if I don't like something the way it naturally tastes, I just don't like it and won't eat it. I won't try to make it taste like something completely different just to like it. That's just me though.
Never been a fan of Domino's, Panago, pizza 73, lor lttle Ceaser's. Boston Pizza is yum, but the local place is the best. The sodium content in our food and drink is wild.
Since I have heart failure, I have to watch my sodium intake. I'm glad to see him telling us how much sodium is in the various kinds. Yesterday, I had a Little Caesars pepperoni pizza,I had two slices, and it wasn't that good. First pizza I've had in a while. I can do without pizza for a quite some time.
You got about 10 minutes to eat Little Caesars before it turns into the box it came in. It's good if you're broke and in college, but beyond that some things are better left in the past.

Yes. I describe Little Caesars as a step down from Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa Johns. But a step up from frozen pizza. lol

Keep in mind, Little Caesars is not supposed to amaze you. At $5 for a 14”, it’s about bang for your buck

I don’t like deep dish at all. Much prefer thin crust. It’s a matter of personal taste but I grew up in thin crust and folding country.

To me the British pizzas look like those round frozen pizzas that are shrink wrapped in the frozen pizza isle. Like almost gray cheese.

Sierra Mist was my must get drink with Little Caesars. Now I get McDonalds Sprite since Starry is too lemony for my taste.

I do like the Slice-N-Stix mixed with Pepperoni Pizza with the half bread sticks so damn good
Please keep this in mind about USA portion sizes, with so many competing restaurants in an area, owners thought the best way to compete is to offer more for your money you know the old value for money thing, and over the years it just sort of got out of hand and it has remained so.

The UK versions look like what the US versions were if you left them in the car all day in the heat.
Hawaiian pizza is Canadian bacon or ham and pineapple. It originated in Canada, hence the Canadian bacon.
I find it interesting that alot of the worst fast food places in US is the best in the UK. KFC is like ther last place people want to go eat in the US meanwhile it is very popular over there. As far as Pizza goes, I will usually go to MOD Pizza (idk if they have that in the UK) Its like subway but for pizza.

Canadian Bacon is what they put on a Hawaiian pizza, along with Pineapple. Canadian Bacon is the same as Ham.
The New Old World Fanceroni Pepperoni Pizza is my favorite at Little Caesar's. You get so much curled/crunchy pepperoni and cheese in every bite. Yum!
Dominos will never be beaten by any other chain. PERIOD!

Why go to Little Cesars when Dominos has their medium 2 topping pizzas for $6.99 USD when purchasing another item (pizza, salad, huge 8 piece brownie order, chicken wings [bone-in or boneless], or any of several other items on their website coupon order site?
At least half a dozen pizza sauces (alfredo, marinara, tomato, etc.), crusts (thin, pan, regular), meats, vegetables, etcetera.
Much, much larger variety of everything that Little Cesars doesn't even come close to offering.
And I'm just a customer.

I have never bought from Little Ceasars. I do, however, have friends who will pick it up for their kids, for a quick meal. It's cheap, so you can get a lot to feed a lot.

Day old pizza to me needs a sauce. I re-bake my pizza slices in a toaster oven and sometimes the crust gets really chewy so the sauces save it.
Domino's frequently has sales for $5 when you buy 2 or more medium pizzas/sandwiches. It's the cheapest I've seen for delivery.
I am from Florida and love Peri Peri Sauce. We can get it at our local grocery store

Aiden, Authentic Hawaiian Pizza has Ham, bacon and Pineapple and not sure if you know, but Hawaii Pizza was created. In Canada, not Hawaii.
I remember having a Little Ceasars when our town got one. We had a coupon, so we got them because they were super cheap compared to other places.
But, you get what you pay for. One of the worst pizza chains I've had. But I would say it's still edible.

Margherita pizza is Italian and different from a standard Cheese pizza, and we have them in the US all over. It's made with fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, olive oil, salt, dough. IMO it's definitely not as good tasting as Cheese & Pepperoni but some people prefer it, it's a healthier option. It's still perfectly fine, but has a specific taste. Also, I'm in the camp that doesn't dip pizza into sauce, but I'm sure it's great, like the garlic sauce or the buffalo or blue cheese adds to the flavor. Sometimes the crust/bread taste can be overwhelming/bland, or it tastes a bit like cardboard so the sauce fixes that. It costs a little extra to get sauce, so I don't normally bother. Maybe next time I'll try some sauce.
The worst pizzas in the States are all the national chains. Absolute garbage.

Little Casars is considered one of the worst pizza places in the US, but i still love it. Dont care what others say.
Just don't let the pizza get cold, it isn't redeemable afterwards. If you come to the US don't get the "Butter Garlic Sauce" from Domino's, you will be very disappointed. Papa John's has the best Garlic Butter of the chain pizza places, but they aren't everywhere.

To be fair, Little Ceasars is like the cheapest carry out pizza in the US. For the price of crappy frozen pizza you can get a fresh made pizza from Ceasars. What you want for $8. When i was in high school in early 80's Little Ceasars Crazy Bread was the best. I'm not sure it's still any good

If you live on either coast, look in the hot sauce section of your supermarket and they probably sell if. In mid-America, I don’t know.

To be absolutely clear, and this is something that's often not known/forgotten, Little Caesar's is not a pizza franchise that is holding its own. It's a subsidiary of a distribution company that is half decent pizza. So if it's half decent here in the USA, you can bet your nanny's farthing that it's sub half decent over in the UK. That's why they can do the $5 Hot-'n-Ready pizzas. They are subsidized by their super successful food distribution parent company. It works for a lot of us for a cheap meal option, but I just don't think they have that strong of an influence in the UK to have the same kind of appeal.
Also, I cannot stand Domino's. Their cheese does not reheat at all. You have the misfortune of having any leftovers at all, that's it. That is now garbage. Next time you try to reheat a slice of Domino's pay attention to the cheese. Does it actually melt and change shape and flow or does it just heat up and retain the exact same shape it was refrigerated in? My experience has always been the latter and all that tells me is that they're getting funky cheese and trying to pawn that off as quality.
My wife and I are pretty lucky. As far as Little Caesars, pizza goes. I'm basically stating that for the fact that it is only one mile from our home. And when you add the fact that the pizza is only five dollars. I will admit I was a little confused when I learned that. You can get an old cheese pizza or an all pepperoni cheese pizza, And they're both $5.
So if you like pepperoni, you're getting it all for free. Well, essentially for free. Add all that to the fact that Little Caesars is the only pizza place in America. That does the hot and ready meaning. If you buy any of their basic pizzas when you walk through the door there's already one made and waiting for you without ordering it in advance.
And I bet you there's nowhere in the Uk That you can get a large pizza for $5.
Aidan is right about Hawaiian pizza, it's usually ham on it, not bacon. We have a Little Caesar's down the road and my girlfriend runs down there for a pizza on the regular. I prefer Domino's or Papa Johns or even Pizza Hut... but Little Caesar's isn't bad.
Little Caesars isn't bad, but it definitely isn't good either. It's the pizza you eat when no other options exist.
Hawaiian pizza can be made with pizza sauce or bbq sauce as the base then for toppings you have “Ham/Canadian Bacon”, pineapple and Streaky American bacon that is broken up into small pieces.
Menus do say "cheese pizza" but I usually ask for "plain cheese" pizza to indicate no toppings. Fancy places call it Margherita but that conotes imported or fresh buffala mozzarella, probably fresh pear tomato and other upscale ingredients.
Tbf I see where they would get confused since a Margherita pizza is a relatively basic pizza.

If you're having pizza for dinner you don't even bother considering the calories. That's like getting us the statistics on the burgers and fries at McDonald's. No one goes to McDonald's to lower their calorie intake. And for that same reason, nobody in America gets pizza and cares about the nutrition. What you care about is How often you indulge yourself in pizza.

Little Ceasers is a diamond dozen in the states. Their pizza is cheap and they’re famous for their five dollar hot and ready. They’re not five dollars anymore though I think they’re six.
The only Little Caesars pizza I've ever had was that Bacon Wrapped monstrosity they had some years ago. Which was actually pretty kick ass for such low tier brand.

Little caesars definitely ranks higher then Dominos. Unfortunately Dominos is pretty bad. The pizza is very low quality. Last time I ordered the Pacific veggie they put maybe 5 single toppings on the whole pizza and all 5 were on one slice.
The bread knots are trash compared to the bread sticks. The wings are full of chunks of fat.
Little caesars can be bad when its not made well but overall its made better. The crazy bread is probably the item on the menu that is most often not made well. The Italian Cheese Bread is always made well.
Everything at Dominos is trash. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich from there and it was gross.

That is not a Margherita pizza. It is made in the traditional Italian way with blobs of fresh mozzarella. That was just a cheese pizza which is made with that shredded cheese...Little Cesars is the ABSOLUTE CHOICE anybody would make. It is CHEAP and NASTY!!! But if you're hungry and broke, you'll eat it. Cardboard pizza at its best.
Little Caesar's is a step down from Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns but a step up from frozen pizza. lol It's a quick, cheaper, ready made pizza.
I don't really see the issue with the high calories and salt. If you're not drowning yourself in high everything food and drink throughout the day, and you're somewhat physically active, it won't wipe most people out.
It doesn't take much to keep an eye on nutritional values, yet so many people here in the US legit don't care. I'm the only one in my family that pays attention to nutritional values and my mom's a freakin' diabetic! I'm basically an unpaid caregiver and need to keep track of her behavior in case she overdoes it and forgets her insulin.

I'm with G on this one. Dipping pizza into another sauce is just so weird to me lol. I want my pizza to taste like pizza, not like a condiment.
Also, in the US cheese is predominantly more an ingredient and less a topping, so when we say "Cheese Pizza" it's basically just the name for a toppingless pizza.
I won’t dip pizza into a cheesy butter sauce but I will always dip pizza into ranch. Specifically Hidden Valley. I didn’t like pizza until I had it with ranch. I also love the hot and cold combination
@@brandonaston301 to me ranch just makes everything just taste like ranch (with the exception of a tiny bit of it being in like sandwiches or wraps). Generally, if I don't like something the way it naturally tastes, I just don't like it and won't eat it. I won't try to make it taste like something completely different just to like it. That's just me though.
Never been a fan of Domino's, Panago, pizza 73, lor lttle Ceaser's. Boston Pizza is yum, but the local place is the best. The sodium content in our food and drink is wild.
Chain pizza leaves much to be desired. Godfathers isn't great but ok. A small local pizzeria is always better even if it's more money.
Real Hawaiian pizza is Ham, but a lot of people switch that out for Bacon... for the extra heart disease of course.

Yesterday, I had a Little Caesars pepperoni pizza,I had two slices, and it wasn't that good. First pizza I've had in a while. I can do without pizza for a quite some time.
You got about 10 minutes to eat Little Caesars before it turns into the box it came in. It's good if you're broke and in college, but beyond that some things are better left in the past.
