Got called "the Bold" for having chosen to stay alongside his father John II of France, defending him, during the disaster at Poitiers when both got captured by the English (while his brothers were safely evacuated).

It's definitely got a sense of darker undertones, as if calm on the surface, but something lurking below and behind the melody, almost out of sight. Quite fitting for some of the most notorious medieval backsta- ahem, opportunists...
