He wasn't proud of this one when he made it but I really love the new Huns theme. It makes them sound like an actual people with history and culture instead of just some semi-natural force that overtook the Roman Empire during their darkest days.

I actually find it interesting; it gives a bit of an image of transition from the nomadic raiding lifestyle into their eventual assimilation into sedentary European lifestyle as they gradually move away from the throat singing portions and start using local (presumably pillaged) instruments in celebration. I can't wait until the Portuguese and Byzantines get their turns!

@@christopherlane467 to think of it, the main instrument here sounds kinda like a Slavic bagpipe (duda) to me and according to Priscus the Huns had some words of presumably Slavic origin (strava, kamos etc.), so musical influences here are also rather possible. Moreover, we do not know much about the conflicts between the Huns and the Early Slavs so it's possible that they coexisted peacefully and the cultural exchange was more intense here.

Generic maps are boring compared to realistic ones.

In the Classical world, "atheism" had a different meaning than it does today; it's probably a reference to the fact that the Huns did not worship the Christian God. Socrates was also accused of "atheism" because he rejected much of the lore of the Greek pantheon (and, many claimed, rejected the gods themselves), as were early Christians for rejecting the Roman gods. Thus, "atheists" was a term applied generally to those who were viewed as godless heathens, not to people who denied the existence of any and all deities.
