Great video Trev, you certainly have lots of space and made it very cosy, will look out for you when passing through Stone -Great Haywood area , enjoyed watching thankyou for sharing.
Very trim and shipshape. You would never lose anything, would you. Most impressed with the spice cache. You could cook anything from anywhere. Tidiest boat ever, congratulations.
It was a hire boat, hence designed for lots of people to sleep onboard. I am currently remodling the back cabin, the bunk beds are gone and I have made more storage, a work area, and a place to put a washing machine. Once I have finished all the alterations I will post a video on it.
@@TrevsTravelsByNarrowboat great! That makes sense - good luck with the remodelling and will keep an eye out for the vlog showing us the end result. All the best.
Thank you for watching. I am currently doing some remodling, I will upload a new video on this once finished. I have been doing some filming along the way.
Obviously a better look at everything. That’s a really nice boat/home! Happy to see the puck on display....hopefully some day our beloved Blackhawks will return to their former glory. Hope your birthday was a great one! 🎂
I made sure the puck got in. I had a drink in a pub called the Wharf Inn at Bugbrooke on the Friday before my birthday, as that was the last day pubs were open
Thank you Tania. Get rid of the bunk beds will make lot more space. I intend to make a an office type of area, where the laptop will be and where I will keep my cameras and do the editing
Thank you. I am currently doing some remodling, to the back cabin. I have no need for all those bunk beds. I am turning one side into a utility area, and the otherside into storage, and a charging area for laptop, cameras and what ever else.
Trev's Travels By Narrowboat We are mid-way through our boat rebuild. It’s also a 70’ cruiser that we intend to live on on our return from HK. Unlike yourself, I’ve two kids to house. We have gone for sealed cabins for privacy. The 70ers make great homes if you do it right. If you wish, my email is... jushayward@gmail.com and I’ll send some pics of progress and see what you think. I get the no fire thing; however diesel fires are much cleaner- we have a wood burner are the moment. Our cabin will be at the stern and I’m thinking of putting a small one in there. Fortunately our heating system is diesel fired and costs very little to run. To have a 70’ to myself- I’d have a pool table installed😀.
Hi Trev. I like the layout of your boat, thanks for showing us around 😊 Room to improve if you wanted to get rid of some of the bunk beds. A belated happy birthday. Take care 😊👍
I will do a new tour one day, it looks nothing like that now, rear bunk beds are gone, and being replaces with storage for tools, etc, and a small work area for laptop, printer, and things for recording youtube stuff.
I would say I rather liked Indiana, but at the moment I think I am in one of the best places I could be. I lived in Illinois for 15 years, but went to Indiana many a time. You stay safe too. I am currently uploading a video showing basically what I am doing with my time at the moment.
Thanks Steve. I like the boat, it is actually more than I thought I could get for the money I was willing to spend. Life is grand, it could be better if this coronavirus was to disappear. I am currently in a self lock down mode not moving until I hope things get better.
Thank you for watching, and thank you for the birthday wish. I have just started moving again, so new videos, will be more to do with cruising, with a little light history, and a little of my dry English humour for good measures.
Washing machine is going in very soon, I ordered it yesterday, now I have made room for one, and upgraded the electrics. As for a freezer, unless you want to spend a lot of money in a huge battery bank and lots of solar panels, they are very difficult to keep running unless you keep the engine running for hours everyday. They are fine if you are marina based and have an electrical hookup. Before I got solar, I had to run my engine for 4 hours a day just to keep the fridge, and other small items working everyday.
Thank you. I like it . A couple of things I will change, but Overall I think I got a great buy. A much bigger boat than I thought my money would run too.
Thank you Steve. I think what I find it is a way of not getting lonely, when talking to the camera it is as if you are talking to people. Well at least you hope someone might listen
Be interesting to see if you remove the bunk beds and do something with the space. Happy birthday very nice boat, how long is It looks longer than most might just be the camera angle.
Hello and thank you for watching. The boat is 60' long. As for the bunk beds, that is the project, I am currently working on during this lockdown. As you come in through the stern doors, have removed the ones on the right completely. I am repurposing the materials and this area is now becoming storage down low, with a work area over. This area is going to have charging points for cameras, and laptop, etc. I should finish this side in the next 2 or 3 days. Then I will begin on the other side, where I am going to put in more storage near the doors, and at the other end by the washbasin I am going to fit a washing machine. I have been videoing parts, and taking still shots of the progress, so a video or 2 will be coming out soon on this. ! for each side I am currently thinking. Trevor
The boat is 60' and it has a lister SL3 engine. Re-modeling of the back cabin is under way at the moment, with the bunk beds removed, and storage/work area to the rifght as you come throgh the back doors. I am currently working on the left side, where there will be a washing machine and further storage areas.
@@TrevsTravelsByNarrowboat Thanks for the information. Lots of work but I'm sure the effort will be worthwhile. Enjoy your summer and we'll look forward to your future videos.
It is bigger than I intended to buy, but a half decent boat at the right price made my mind up. Now I have a 60' boat I would not want anything particularly smaller.
The boat is ready to be converted to your likings. I have plans for my boat when I can sell out and move to the UK. Just me. I sleep on the couch here, so I won't need to have a bedroom. I'd like a tub with a shower in it, kitchen sink can be the only sink in the boat, so it will be large. The refrigerator is the only thing that I can see having to get used to. I drink a lot of diet soda. Those refrigerators are too small. About how much would a 45 foot used boat be if it needs a little interior work? I'm thinking 45-50 thousand.
A boat of that size, that needs a little work you can get for less than £20,000.00. I am not sure if you were in dollars or pounds. Big fridges are normally 220-240v this means you will need a large inverter, and also a large battery bank. This is one of the reasons most people stay with the smaller 12v fridge, as they require a lot less power to operate. I find if I want to keep drinks cold I only keep 3 or 4 in the fridge at a time, and discipline myself to replace when taking one out to keep a continuous flow of cold ones. If you store them before going in the fridge on the floor of the boat they will keep cool even in the summer as it will be below water level. BTW I am still using my laptop I bought in the US and the £ sign is alt 0163
I have a plan to get over there. I'd have to get a job to keep going and redo the boat. Do any places you pay to stay allow work to get done on site? It's going to be hard to be in a place where if you need anything you have nobody to call unless you are paying them. I've got a lot of questions but don't want to bother you.
@@thomasfilion9064 There are places that allow you to work onsite. I know some other boaters have done this but I do not know where. If I can answer your questions I am more than willing to do so, but I do not know everything, and still, I learn things daily.
@@thomasfilion9064 BTW there are some very good facebook groups. 12 volts boating group have just about everything to do with electrics on a boat. They have hundreds of pdf's with wiring diagrams for everything showing the thickness of cable required size of fuses and just about anything you could think of
You got there in the end😀 are you planning taking out the bunk beds to get more usable space? You could have a workshop in there! Happy birthday by the way..
I think an eberspacher is the way I would like to go. I have been reading up on them. Clean, run on diesel, and it can be fitted to run my radiators or ready in place I think. Just need to get the money now to pay for it LOL
Clean the phone/camara lens next time dude..Looks like you have the best of both worlds as far as the bathroom goes. Looks like you can close the door to the toilet part only, and close off the entire bath area if needed.
Yes you can close of the toilet part separately. I actually normally leave the doors closed across the toilet area, it makes it easier moving from end to end on the boat.
Nice video, but seriously I don't see the relevance in showing absolutely everything! I wanted to see your boat, not your chopping board, phone, camera case cd collection etc....
Fair enough. That was filmed in my early days of filming. It was done in a rush, as I had tried to stream it live, but I had all sorts of problems that day with streaming. "youtube had problems that day not me" so I ran around the boat quickly trying to get an upload done to replace the awful stream. I am currently doing so remodling on the boat and will do a new better presented tour in the future once the alterations are completed.
