Moved from Iowa to Colorado I appreciate the hell out of it! It is absolutely insane the difference. I have a 2001 f250 I bought when i moved out here. Zero rust.
True, I moved from New England to Texas and was blown away when I did a brake job and the bleeders opened with ease. Not too many exhaust shops there either because of zero salt.
I own equipment going back to the 1960s - a 1961 International dump truck, for one - with ZERO significant rust. It is stunning to see what a mess much newer vehicles are when they come from the rust belt.
Awesome job bro I subscribed , 2 cent tho when using vise grips ALWAYS put the bottom jaw in the top position so it can grab the way its designed, same as channel locks! That truck is a absolute score.
There's definitely a LOT to be said for having and keeping a positive mindset when dealing with this sort of project, especially. Persevereance is a critical key in the quest to crossing most any finish line... 😊 HUGE KUDOS to ya, Jesse!
I'm actually impressed at how good the frame is doing for being a 20 year old truck in the north. Sat here and watched this whole video in one sitting.
I love watching your videos. My husband thinks I’m weird, but I was a hydraulic mechanic for 8 years overhauling valves and servo valves on USAF aircraft. I love your mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.
Hey Jessie, love the comment about thoes who would call it a rust bucket, they wouldn't know value for money if a bank guaranteed it , bloody nice vehicle mate , cheers from Melbourne Australia , loving your work 👍
Jesse worked on Andrew's castle, and his Mom and Dad are working on it now. That is where Jesse got the Pettibone crane (after Andrew flipped it on its side).
Jesse once again you pull a rabbit out of your hat My watch your videos….I feel as I’m sitting in school and you are the teacher,,,you have the patience of God with your children hanging out with you wanting to learn which is absolutely phenomenal,,,, they will be the leaders for the next generation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you for the FYI about the split muffler clamp at minute 54 when your brother show his shirt with the T-shirt I’m always right in a minute 58 I had to spit out my tea I was laughing so hard,,,,,,,once again enjoy your videos immensely………… I love the attitude that your parents have instilled upon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you be persistent and if you think you can fix it you should know you should fix it you can fix it……………my mother always used to say if you put your mind to it you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I’d love to hear her say that to me one more time she’s been dead almost 25 years keep up the great work your Yankee friend from across the river Sam bacon
amazing to see all the crap that was in this inside of this truck. Pat is such a asset to you, and sure the friendship you share is strong as well, you are both blessed to know one another and also to work together as well. You wife, using the creeper to ride Noah in and out from under the truck, was awesome! Bet you love that large shop/garage now, so much you have all been able to get done since you closed most of that all in. the test drive of it, sounded so much better after you changed and repaired the muffler! you can really hear that Hemi Engine!! Isn't there a way to rubber coat the frame of that truck, [ like Andrew has with some of this stuff ].Was happy to see at least you painted the frame for some protection fomr all that road salt during the winter months. Taking off the back " Cage" off the sides of the back of the truck, and accidently breaking the back window, reminded me of Andrew taking a chainsaw to the inside of his old dodge truck to replace the radio..your brother did a great job in getting all that rust off the frame. that is teadious work in itself. so great to see both Noah and aiden helping to wash the truck🙂Thus far a really good truck, and even with the repairs and work you did to it, still comes out to a great deal. is there ANY way to find out the miliage on it?? waiting for the next video on this, and see it all complete.. Great video Jesse. Very Much appreicated. God bless.
I must admit, I wanted all of Pat's commentary while he sorted through the stuff that you guys were cleaning out of the cab. I agreed with most of his decisions! 😂
This video just reinforces how happy I am that I left the northeast and moved to Georgia, as a full time automotive tech I seriously don’t miss working on stuff like this lol. Good for you for tackling projects like this Jesse
Thanks for giving us something to look forward to tomorrow! Looking forward to part two. The fleet is looking good, you have come a long way in the last few years.
Your work fixing the free truck that came with a plow is both impressive and resourceful. The way you tackle the project with skill and determination, turning a seemingly simple opportunity into a valuable asset, showcases your ingenuity and practical expertise. Your approach not only demonstrates a keen eye for potential but also inspires others to make the most of what they have. And I am Floating Village Life.
You’re a rare breed man. You have worked hard for what you got. Stay true stay strong. I’m in my 50’s rebuilding because of misfortune. Guys like you your mom and dad keep reinforcing it can be done. Cheers
Just did the same to my '06 3500. New upper and lower control arms and ball joints, new track bar bushings new drag link, new hub bearings, new axle u-joints and new stabilizer links. Watching you pull those hub bearings out so easily (on the one side) was depressing. I fought both of mine for over 30 mins each. Needless to say I put liberal amounts of antiseize all over when I reinstalled the new ones.
A free truck $1600 worth in parts, as well as a $1500 front plow. You scored BIG, with that truck. If you were to sell it, it be worth $7500 -$12K maybe more depending on the state of it. Hell you could keep it pass it down to your kids too. Love your through content so we see everything. 💪
Way to save some money. My wife and I are Ram fans as well. I started laughing when you were working on the exhaust manifolds. Been there done that. But all in all we love our Hemi. Keep up the great videos.
I BOUGHT A 94 WHEN THEY CHANGED THE BODY STYLES OF THEIR TRUCKS, MY FRAME WAS DIPPED IN WAX TO KEEP THE SALT OFF, I TAKE IT THEY DONT DO THAT NO MORE, GOOD LUCK, LOVE THE CHANNEL
The truck looks reasonable from outside but it is awfully rusty all the way underneath. But with your guy's expertise and dedication I am certainly confident sure this truck was worth saving and will serve you many years to come...job well done and good luck ...
I’m impressed. We are going to see a lot more restorations in the present and future until manufacturers get their act together and built trucks that are affordable. Good job mate!
You fellows work good together, no need explaining what to do or how to do it everybody knows, which is great. A little rubbing compound might take the rust stain off of the passenger door. Always look forward to your videos.👍
I don’t know his name but your main dude that’s always working with you is a hoot when he was trying to crack that bed mount those are the types of sounds I make to make my coworkers laugh plus he’s always in a good mood seems like a solid dude
Before watching this video, I was jealous. A free truck? Why doesn’t stuff like that ever happen to me! After seeing this video, I think at free you may have overpaid a little, LOL. Good work fixing it, and I’m sure it’ll be good to you. I will sit here in my warm climate with my rust-free cars and look in from the outside though… P.S. those manifolds even manage to rust out and break studs out here where there’s no salt! Not sure how they do that.
Great truck for free Jesse, you still need to order yourself some "unplated" nuts from the bolt store for stud removals though, you will be surprised by the difference, the plating is the "white smoke" that weakens the welds. Can't wait to see the new bed.
People that don't live up north like us have no idea how good of shape that frame and truck actually is . I've seen 2020 plow trucks that are completely ruined already
Some do and steam clean . The calcium chloride eats through metal like you wouldn't believe . Same with equipment a lot of guys rent skid steers for loading salt rather than use their own and turn the rental in at the end of the winter and the cabs are totally rotten out
These high tech chargers are just to postpone the inevitable, buying new battery. They have their application when a battery is slightly discharged other than that is just self gaslighting.
You're gonna be singing the praises when you get that car lift installed. I spent 3 days on my cars control arm. The whole time all I could think about was how I could have spent less time with a lift instead of on the ground.
Anything suspension related you just start dreaming of having a lift, real hard when things are rusty and you can barely even turn a ratchet without hitting the cold concrete and you're on your knees for hours. Done more than a few clutches on stands too, pretty horrible job especially since a lot of them need the subframe dropped. I've always said if I ever build a garage it's getting a lift and I'm sticking to it, here's hoping.
Yo Jesse I gotta say man what sets you apart is the patience and perseverance you possess..I've personally given up on crap just cuz I didn't have the resilience in the face of adversities like you do bro..no wonder you're successful and get stuff completed
Man hats off to u and that rust, i think i would have pulled motor and then did all that exhaust stuff , but i have no experience in that rust i live in florida
having a nervous break down watching you take the fuel rod and other stuff out !! my brain is screaming "how u gonna know how to put all those parts back in correctly ?? " lol lol 😃🤠🤓
Well done.Someone? Ii am not name dropping, got a little shall I say over zelious with the box removal & excavator. A few ratchet straps and comealong or chain block from the rafters in the garage could have saved a rear window. Ah, but then the window story would not be there to be told. Looking forward to seeing the flat bed addition. Keep the videos coming.
Hey Jesse, I really like your videos. I grew up not too far from you, but now I live in North Carolina I know what it’s like to deal with the salt really calcium chloride. It’s wicked stuff. I have a brother-in-law that lives in Europe, and they use the same crap over there. He told me about a product called Waxoyl if you use it, they guarantee no rust where it’s been applied. I actually bought some just to see what it was like. I did a restoration on my 1970 Monte Carlo and I figured even though I don’t drive it in any crappy weather I just wanted to see what the stuff was like. Applied inside my box frame anyway, just food for thought and thanks again for the awesome videos.
Cool movie. The action of removing the bed from a truck using a huge machine (especially since you have so many other options) is probably some kind of demolition gene of the excavator people ;-)
awesome to watch it start out with driving in snow... up north... driving in snow is such a satisfying challenge... from having the right tire set up to the idea that ur driving ur vehicle to the edge of loosing traction the whole time... you have to manage driving on the edge of going off the road... the entire time... takes alot of active driving....it's the real test of drivers. imo. and during the snow drive.. the road is so quiet due to the snow noise dampening effect... tranquil
I feel you pain my son is doing the same thing .I picked up about 30 welded up nuts from all over the drive way Sunday and we only got 1 side done . Will have to pick up another case of Bud to tackle the other side next weekend.🍻
Great video 👍 If you ever do another manifold on a Dodge put as much weld on the nut and stud behind the nut which will put a lot of heat and give a better chance of release 😊.
Take a torch cut off all the remaining studs left in the exhaust manifold, get the manifold out of your way then weld nuts onto the the studs, you get much better heat penetration and have way more room to work. I’ve done this for over 20 years in NYS.
I would consider starting the car you came in. Put the old junk battery in the car you came in so it can be charging put the good battery from your car into the truck and start it up. Awesome mother to your children. Using the creeper to move the son underneath the truck. Getting him used to being a real man. Smart woman. Jesse’s a lucky man.
Beers Time The right tools Get the manifold job done I done it a few times you need good penetration oil with freeze shock in it, a torch, welder. Extractors if needed. Be extra careful. Be grateful if the bolt heads break and you have enough threads to use a vice grip to unscrew em… and if the studs don’t break either
Jesse brother are we doing a engine swap on that crane it would be a massive asset to you just them old Cummins v8 are shit for reliable be cool to se you do a modernization project on it get you 8.3 Cummins or similar few air tanks rent it out then with a driver for your projects or other people projects earn its own keep then plus i just want to see someone do it 😂 anyway loving the content and the length of videos is spot on for me im a heavy recovery specialist in the uk and spend few hours on standby so these help definitely appreciate the two videos in a week man cheers from Yorkshire England 🇬🇧
Some how when I was 20 years old I bought a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins with 60k miles. The truck was only 4 years old. I didn't keep it long but man do I remember it being an awesome truck. Would buy again.
The truck worth 800 to 1000 and the plow a couple hundred depending on shape Seems like a good buy it’s a runner and a hemi! That body rust is nuts though sucks about being a northerner you gotta keep your vehicles not rusting each year
I've had pretty good luck buying some extra years with fluid film or even thinned bar and chain oil sprayed underneath my vehicles. The joys of the rust belt
I don't like loud trucks either, but I like a nice rumble to it, To me there is a difference between too loud, and sounding good, I like to keep it where I can just hear it with the windows down, but can't hear hardly nothing with the windows up.
You took the time to protect the Deere 80C glass in the last video. And I was glad to see you do it. I momentarily thought the glass was vulnerable. Same here. But why didn't youget that sheet of plywood? I at least thought a chain or strap was the way to go to lift the bed. Even Andrew Camarata is seen cleaning leaves built up in crevices in videos since the fire. Although with him you can't be sure what order they were filmed.
People and mechanics outside the rust belt don't appreciate how good they have it.
every time i have to clean the carb on my tiny 1970's moped i give thanks to the rust lords of upper ohio
Moved from Iowa to Colorado I appreciate the hell out of it! It is absolutely insane the difference. I have a 2001 f250 I bought when i moved out here. Zero rust.

Bolts come out like so
No impact ever used
No penetrating spray ever used
That nice dashboard definitely needs a Camaratta style chainsaw adaptation. 😂
Still one of my favorite AC videos. Thanks for making me laugh again.
Dam you SAVAGE 😂😂
I'm proud to have got the reference, LOL
Came here looking for this comment, didn’t even have to scroll a page😏😜
oui l'envoyer à andrew pour installer l'autoradio
That was some damn fine camera work on that exhaust manifold.
Jesse your video's are never way too long. thank you.
Awesome job bro I subscribed , 2 cent tho when using vise grips ALWAYS put the bottom jaw in the top position so it can grab the way its designed, same as channel locks! That truck is a absolute score.

Videos you make are getting som much better! Could be the commentary. Good job J!!
I am liking these 1-2 hour plus videos. 😂
Jesse, your persistance is commendable. I would have driven that truck off a cliff way before getting as far as you have. Great job.
Hey Jessie, love the comment about thoes who would call it a rust bucket, they wouldn't know value for money if a bank guaranteed it , bloody nice vehicle mate , cheers from Melbourne Australia , loving your work 👍
For the first time you reminded me of Andrew Camarata when, you were removing that damn bed!😅
Jesse worked on Andrew's castle, and his Mom and Dad are working on it now. That is where Jesse got the Pettibone crane (after Andrew flipped it on its side).
You Mullers are a hard working bunch.

Great job Jesse. You guys work so well together. All of you must have been raised right. Can't wait to see the flatbed video. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Spraying some anti-rust inside the frame after cleaning as well as possible with water also helps in slowing down the rust.
Another great video man. Loved the boys at the end. Can't wait for the next one.
I must admit, I wanted all of Pat's commentary while he sorted through the stuff that you guys were cleaning out of the cab. I agreed with most of his decisions! 😂
Love the video Jesse! You guys have really coined some catch phrases too. I’ve been using “good!” while working on projects with friends.
Amen to the salty winter roads. Can't get away from them!! Great stuff Jesse!
U r so smart. Most people wait til the first big snow to work on the plow. That manifold makes me bummed out. Rust is no joke!
This video just reinforces how happy I am that I left the northeast and moved to Georgia, as a full time automotive tech I seriously don’t miss working on stuff like this lol. Good for you for tackling projects like this Jesse

Always good content and thorough work. I don't care how long it takes or how long the video is.
I BOUGHT A 94 WHEN THEY CHANGED THE BODY STYLES OF THEIR TRUCKS, MY FRAME WAS DIPPED IN WAX TO KEEP THE SALT OFF, I TAKE IT THEY DONT DO THAT NO MORE, GOOD LUCK, LOVE THE CHANNEL

i learn something every time i tune in........thanks for the ride.............
You boys did a great job on that truck. Good work and you can always use another one.
Brilliant video and teamwork to get this truck back in action. Can't wait to see more of this along with the bed build and finishing touches
You fellows work good together, no need explaining what to do or how to do it everybody knows, which is great. A little rubbing compound might take the rust stain off of the passenger door. Always look forward to your videos.👍
I just love your content! Especially when you rebuild something. Thank you that you share all of your projects!
Jesse is putting out some good quality videos...producing high quality videos is NOT easy, takes patience, preparation and good editing skills.
Good job getting the dodge truck for free, parts and cleaned and she is a keeper. bed and some other parts she will be a cool truck..
Thanks Jesse for these videos. One of the better channels for variety on UA-cam and length.
I don’t know his name but your main dude that’s always working with you is a hoot when he was trying to crack that bed mount those are the types of sounds I make to make my coworkers laugh plus he’s always in a good mood seems like a solid dude
Pat
Nice job, Jessie and the crew. Free truck is best truck.
Before watching this video, I was jealous. A free truck? Why doesn’t stuff like that ever happen to me! After seeing this video, I think at free you may have overpaid a little, LOL. Good work fixing it, and I’m sure it’ll be good to you. I will sit here in my warm climate with my rust-free cars and look in from the outside though…
P.S. those manifolds even manage to rust out and break studs out here where there’s no salt! Not sure how they do that.
Great job making this truck usable again.
That is why excavators are made for digging not removing lumber racks! Love ya Jesse keep up the good work!
Man the amount of projects you have going and still time to edit and pump out content. Amazing!
Can't wait for the bed build. Always interesting how each guy does his.
WTF😲 it is cause they don't coat the frame every year in the winter so it is protected 🤯
Some do and steam clean . The calcium chloride eats through metal like you wouldn't believe . Same with equipment a lot of guys rent skid steers for loading salt rather than use their own and turn the rental in at the end of the winter and the cabs are totally rotten out
Meanwhile down south my 10 year old truck still has the original stickers on it's frame from the factory with zero rust.
That feeling when you arm yourself with all kinds of high-tech devices for charging and starting and in the end you buy a new battery.
I will definitely get a lift. Looking for the highest capacity 2 post I can find
Looks pretty good for a free truck. Nice!
Love the length of your videos great job
having a nervous break down watching you take the fuel rod and other stuff out !! my brain is screaming "how u gonna know how to put all those parts back in correctly ?? " lol lol 😃🤠🤓
I really enjoy watching all of you work on projects. Despite issues it is done well😊😊😊😊
Well done.Someone?
When I saw you take the bed off with the excavator thought my phone went over to Andrew C channel.
Great rebuild Jess.
👍👍👍
That turned out to be a really nice snow plow!
Cool movie. The action of removing the bed from a truck using a huge machine (especially since you have so many other options) is probably some kind of demolition gene of the excavator people ;-)
With all this heat lately, nice to see the snow.
awesome to watch it start out with driving in snow... up north... driving in snow is such a satisfying challenge... from having the right tire set up to the idea that ur driving ur vehicle to the edge of loosing traction the whole time... you have to manage driving on the edge of going off the road... the entire time... takes alot of active driving....it's the real test of drivers. imo. and during the snow drive.. the road is so quiet due to the snow noise dampening effect... tranquil
yea and up there the ditches go wayyyy down . but atleast most of the main roads are very flat and straight. not the case around here
When the broken stud is really short, or even flush, weld a thick washer on first then the nut. Has worked well for me over many years.
Love your channel great job as always
Love all these videos, always enjoy what you create!!
I feel you pain my son is doing the same thing .I picked up about 30 welded up nuts from all over the drive way Sunday and we only got 1 side done . Will have to pick up another case of Bud to tackle the other side next weekend.🍻
Good to see you using POR15! Great stuff!
Great video 👍 If you ever do another manifold on a Dodge put as much weld on the nut and stud behind the nut which will put a lot of heat and give a better chance of release 😊.
Great Job sir. (not mentioning the back window mind 🤣 )
nice! a chore but a fun time to work with a friend on something like this and wind up with a nice truck. thanks
A suggestion for future Jessee. A junk yard engine can be had for 300 - 400$ complete.
Take a torch cut off all the remaining studs left in the exhaust manifold, get the manifold out of your way then weld nuts onto the the studs, you get much better heat penetration and have way more room to work. I’ve done this for over 20 years in NYS.
Great skills and attitude and your content is fantastic.
Beers
Time
The right tools
Get the manifold job done I done it a few times you need good penetration oil with freeze shock in it, a torch, welder. Extractors if needed. Be extra careful. Be grateful if the bolt heads break and you have enough threads to use a vice grip to unscrew em… and if the studs don’t break either
Impressive getting those studs out!
Jesse brother are we doing a engine swap on that crane it would be a massive asset to you just them old Cummins v8 are shit for reliable be cool to se you do a modernization project on it get you 8.3 Cummins or similar few air tanks rent it out then with a driver for your projects or other people projects earn its own keep then plus i just want to see someone do it 😂 anyway loving the content and the length of videos is spot on for me im a heavy recovery specialist in the uk and spend few hours on standby so these help definitely appreciate the two videos in a week man cheers from Yorkshire England 🇬🇧

thanks for the video and can't wait for part 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jesse remember - such videos are never long enough! 👍
I predicted the back glass getting broken. 😂
The truck worth 800 to 1000 and the plow a couple hundred depending on shape
Seems like a good buy it’s a runner and a hemi!
That body rust is nuts though sucks about being a northerner you gotta keep your vehicles not rusting each year
Watching these videos makes me appreciate that we don't live in the rust belt and don't work on rust belt cars anymore
Love the dashboard supplement 1:00
You need a lift my friend, I would prioritize that in your shop. It was game-changing for me for projects like this
That unit is right up Andrews alley
"Too rich for my blood."
- Andrew, probably 😂
Andrew's is diesel.
Cole is the man!
I've had pretty good luck buying some extra years with fluid film or even thinned bar and chain oil sprayed underneath my vehicles. The joys of the rust belt
I like Pat's imitation of Noah. And come to think of it, Noah's imitation of Pat is funny too. "Guhd!
I don't like loud trucks either, but I like a nice rumble to it, To me there is a difference between too loud, and sounding good, I like to keep it where I can just hear it with the windows down, but can't hear hardly nothing with the windows up.
Tidy job. Well done.👍
This could've been before that time wise, maybe he learnt the hard way gor the excavator 😂
@@kieranosullivan02 this was before that lol
Love the truck!😊
