Nutter I think you meant. " The Solution is Dilution" Could be new T-shirt along with "The Junkyard Provides" and "Good Enough for Who its For". Nice content, thanks!
Wow ! great video !! I am going to do my jug's on my triple !! trying to deglaze them. is there a better way to do that or what to use ! { oil or something els ! } I have 240 grt stones !Oh we got some snow at -20 LOL !! Greater Napanee Ont.
A ball hone is just fine if you only need to deglaze. Straight stones are also good for cast iron, but I would never use the straight stones on nicasil or chrome cylinders, 240 sounds about right. Should be fine.
I think that Lisle is a 16000? I have a Lisle 15000 that I have successfully used to hone a 290ss cylinder 76mm bore (errr...maybe one or two over that). I have no doubt that the Sunnen is better (and this video makes me want to buy one), but at least it's low buck and big enough for the bigger cylinders for anybody out there that wants to give it a go. Also Harbor freight sells a heavy duty low rpm drill 0-600 rpm which is pretty beastly and about half the rpm of typical corded drills. They call it a "spade handle drill/mixer". It's hard to control most typical corded drills slow enough and a nice cordless drill with a "low gear" is great but this sucks down the battery in a hurry and it will be HOT. Obviously the mill is better, maybe a drill press (haven't tried).
Acid …. Boy that brings back memories 😅 I’m working on a 600 ves project. Do you think I could use a xcr single stock triple exhaust system on it ? I’m having trouble fitting stock pipe under the hood

Good video Nutter! I like my Sunnen hones.
I'm sold on the Sunnen hones now. It was amazing how it fixed the taper.
Looks great John.
Thanks 👍
Man that cylinder cleaned up nice. Excellent video John!
Thanks Lloyd. See you at ERX?
Great video Nutter! I like this kinda stuff, always something to learn 👍 Good tip on the Sunnen hone
Cheers 🍻
Glad you enjoyed it
I like this show it reminds me of the shade tree mechanic back in the 90's
Thanks!
where the hell is the snow Nutter? This year sucks!!; FJB
FJB
With this lack of snow I can only imagine this is how a drug addict feels without drugs , I wanna ride!!
Very informative. I restore old 70's sleds for a hobby. Your shop looks alot like mine. Keep up the good videos.
Thanks 👍
Show and tell and tips make great videos...Nice
Glad you like them!
John I use atf after honing a cylinder you be surprised how clean they turn out with the ATF and a clean rag
Never heard that, but I'll try it with white paper towels and see if it pulls out the same amount of crud from the cross hatch.

It's a 16000. never had a 15000. Is it bigger/better?
@@nuttersspeedshop I can confirm that it's bigger. I have very limited experience with it or hones in general so can't say much about "better".
But Nutter I don't have a milling machine so you're still getting my cylinders if I need them honed. Carry on.
A hand held drill works if it goes slow enough. LOL.
@@nuttersspeedshop Funny you should say that. I just watched Todd do just that.
Yep Todd did, just maybe a little too fast. I was always taught 1/2 the speed, twice the feed!
I’m guessing ur full time job is machining. I went to wahpeton nd for machine tooling. U know a lot of the trade words.

I really don't know.
ur gonna need a scrolling screen soon for the Patreon list !!!!
It's getting there.
Is this a cast cylinder? Or plated?
✌️🍩
This was cast iron. For plated use a ball hone. Consult the ball hone manufacturer for the size and grit you need.
