FYI, all Corvettes are built in Bowling Green. Get the heads fixed asap! That hood is not carbon fiber. B92 is the code for carbon hood which was available in 2011-13 Z's.

Brian Samuels yeah I actually mention that towards the end of the video. Going to send the heads down to Texas Speed during the winter and get the works done on them. Also going to do a cam and likely a centrifugal supercharger as well.
I've had mine for 2 years, bought in 2017, it's a 2007 with 15 K miles, it was a one owner car just like yours, not one flaw in the paint. a joy to drive every time I get in it. At the moment it's completely stock except for a short throw shifter I installed when I first got it. I will be very interested on how your build turns out!

I made a similar trip back in December of '21 to pick up my 6th Corvette, a Jet Stream Metallic Blue 2008 Z06, with just 6008 miles, in Mill Hall, PA, from just South of Atlanta. I drove my 2020 BMW M5 up, and flew my son over from Grand Junction, Co. The only issue? I should have bought this baby at least FIVE Years ago!!
I have a silver 06 Z with LMR heads, lingenfelter intake, and ARH headers/xpipe, stock mufflers with muffler mod. Plenty of power for me to grow in as a driver.. spins at 60mph no problem with MPSS tires. Keep it N/A if you plan on road coursing your car so you have no heat soak issues. I did a track day this past fall, can't wait to go back. Congrats and welcome to the family!
I added the mild to wild dead petal switch who’s is a lot better when it comes to opening and closing the NPP exhaust.. much better the the key fob for my 2012 GS. Good luck with your ZO6. It’s a beautiful car inside an out

'.....did you address the valve to valve guide clearance issue!!! Some LS7, 427s have grenaded from a dropped valve. Apparently 2006 to 2013 GM contracted the heads and they screwed up the valve guide machining leading to unusual guide wear and eventually valve failure. I've got a 2013 and presently and pulling the head for refurb..

Nice score! I'm looking at a yellow 2008/70000miles with the beefier 6060(short throw) 6speed for $26000. These should be great track cars and fun on the street! Lots of drag strips in my area here in Fl.
andrew paul that sounds like a good car! The TR6060 would have been nice to have, but I couldn't pass this car up. I had a TR6060 in my old Hellcat and had issues overheating it. Reverse started to grind after one track event. Probably just a Mopar specific issue with cooling. Florida definitely has some nice tracks!
I have bought cars from shady dudes like I am not sure if the car is stolen or what that turned out to be reliable and with 0 problems. Then again mint dealer car turned out to be factory lemon.
I own a silver 06 Z with an ECS Novi 1500 meth and ACT twin disc (glazed the OEM clutch like a donut) with C5Z half shafts (broke a stocker). 560/500. So much fun for so cheap. Good luck.👍
I was at the very same crossroad. Intake air temps aren’t amazing with ether kit after a few pulls I think. I’m in Seattle if you want to go for a pull.

Taylor Smith The reason I went with ECS is the head unit. It’s supposed to support up to 900+ whp. In fact I’m about ready to buy or rebuild now as I think I have a cracked piston (maybe ring land or crown). I’ve definitely got a dead hole but it doesn’t seem to care at high rpm, I’m guessing because of the piston speed and boost overcoming the compression leak enough. Anyway a rebuild has always been the plan. Those hypereutectic pistons don’t play with shitty gas. If I where you I’d have your tuner be pretty conservative with timing around peak torque. I also don’t like the Bosch injectors that came with the ECS kit. Several have failed. That alone could have been the end of that motor. ECS also doesn’t use HP tuners so the can’t look at your tune without your ECU. I’d get an A&A kit if I did it again. Also never go to Carburetor Connection in Kirkland. The owner is a piece of shit. I have stories from myself and others. Good luck!

Easy to make power from the LS engines. As everyone has mentioned, the heads have to be fixed before any serious track time. Heads, cam, headers and tune, look for close to 600 at the wheels.
Yes you did steal that car that was an excellent deal next just get the heads fixed and drive it for a while to get used to it after you do a heads and cam package it will not be forgiving that little thing you did with the downshift you'll end up in the woods trust me I've been there when you do do the mods call Tony mamo worth every penny you spend to get a set of his heads mine puts down 620 at the rear wheel and drives really close to stock but like I said it is very unforgiving the acceleration is explosive so get used to what you have first good luck you're going to have a smile on your face every time you drive that car
Thank you for the info! I have heard the MAMO ported intake manifolds are great too. I'm on the fence about heads, cam and blower or just keeping it NA with a nice heads+cam package. Do you ever wish you had more power since your car as finished?
Call Tony and talk to him about his heads and cam setup you don't need a supercharger and I don't wish I had more power the big problem is traction no matter what you get for tires you'll still have issues hooking up I think 600 wheel is the perfect number for these cars they're light so they don't need big numbers and with a smaller cam Antonis heads you'll have less revision it will run a lot better and you will enjoy driving it if you go to big they become an animal real quick and are not enjoyable the drive daily also budget for a ZR1 clutch they're awesome if I had it to do all over again I would actually go with a little smaller cam definitely no supercharger it's not needed to get the Peak Performance that you need to actually keep this on the road
Don't be dumb in the ran lol. You will end up I a ditch. They can run 10.9's with perfect track conditions and traction. Typically 11.4-11.6's@127mph range

Ls7 drop valves, so watch out! I'd have the heads down before you start pushing it hard. C6 z06 are beast though. C6 zr1 are even better.👍
