Fun fact about Necrons speaking english in Mechanicus: they have a **universal** translator, which is translating the Necrontyr language into a language **the player** understands. That's how advanced the Necrons are!
It's the unofficial origin of the Occurrence Border. Think about it, the ship whose front end is missing from the "Discount Starship" chapter of "The All Guardsman Party".

Inquisitor is the perfect bump up of powerscale from Darktide. You're not on the peak powerscale of a space marine but you're way more powerful than your standard guardsman. Hell, in darktide you're basically on an Inquisitor's ship the entire game and you just never see them because they're out doing other stuff.
Imagine the sequel has you sometimes playing the Eldar, trying to prevent the Mechanicus from exploring another Necron Tomb, all the while fighting off Necrons already awakened by the Mechanicus' expedition. But then, you, as the Mechanicus, slay one of the major Necron Lords of one if the Tomb Worlds you'll be playing on. And the Eldar's psychic vision changes a bit. Mechanicus troops in the Eldar campaign get the upgrades you get in the Mechanicus campaign, slowly but surely turning the nigh-helpless Ranger into a powerhouse who can disable your weapon attacks and bypass your defenses, and the Vanguard getting that neat Double Attack, pretty much killing one of your soldiers in one turn if you're not careful. And the more you advance as the Mechanicus, the more Overlords you kill, the more the Eldar's vision changes, and the end of the game, facing a Necron Phaeron, they outright fight alongside the Mechanicus forces. Then the Eldar leave the Mechanicus to their devices and leave the system. The lower-ranking Seers keep asking how did the funny-looking Mon'Keigh change the future, while the elder Seer looks towards the Mechanicus flotilla in the distance, a faint smile on their face, and mumbles something about humans being full of surprises, while a more divine, yet also more technological version of the main theme plays quietly in the background.

The Mechanicus game got me thinking about what Trazyn said to Cawl about the similarities between tech-priests and Necrons: They both lost what made them relatable to their species, except tech-priests willingly carved away bits of their humanity and relatively healthy body, which the Necrons would've killed to have. I wonder if Trazyn was a little bitter about it.
I don't know if that's true or not, but it would make sense that out of all Imperium factions, Necrons would hate AdMech the most. You know, sort of in a way that normal person looks at an idiot that has no idea what he's doing and is just too stupid to realize anything.
Thats probably the only game where you could argue for them though. In many 40k books, sometimes writers put in stuff like "time seemed to slow down as his armor pumped combat stims..." and so on, whenever there is an intense part of a fight. Its kinda rare but its there, and imho fits the narrative that they are transhuman, abnormally fast warriors, so QTE is not that bad in this case. At least thats my way of looking at things, i dont like QTE´s overall.
I beat the game a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. But I can only remember one QTE - the one in the final boss fight. The fight looks pretty cool so I didn't hate the QTE at all.

Bricky gets choked up when discussing the......temporary loss of Cadia.. Temporary since we all know Cadia lives on in the hearts of the guard and us all.
Dawn of War 1 and 2 are fucking masterpieces, I love them both a lot for their own reasons. idk if I can ever find an RTS that can top Dawn of War 1, especially with the Ultimate Apocalypse mod... goddamn. I just wish they made a third game that combined the best elements of DoW 1 and DoW 2...
It'd be neat to see the Total War Franchise make a game, Imagine dozens of planets with dozens of capture points (Cities, towns, etc...) on each that give you control of the planets, kind of like provinces and settlements in Total War Warhammer. With battles that you can control. That would probably be the most mega and hardcore RTS campaign ever while you try to take over the universe as Xenos or humans.
25:55 your comparison of the humanity of the Necrons compared to the Mechanicus puts me in mind of something that Trazyn said to Cawl. "I went to my bio transference in chains, you, on the other hand, you went more than willingly."
Ended up buying all the 40k games you mentioned that I didn't already own. You sold me. I need to figure out where I'm up to with The Emperor's TTS series, I binge-watched everything years ago when I first found it and youtube has since hidden every new video from me that I assumed it had stopped.
Was Death of Hope created by some huite supremecists or something. I see no mention of it in any of the comments. When it's easily one of the most warhammer 40k atrmospheric things out there. Shows the actual Grim darkness, not trying to clean it up for the wider audience.
25:59 In BFG when Cawl first meets Trazyn he calls him an abomination, pretty ironic both because that Necron is what he and all Mechanicus aspire to be AND because the Necron looks more human that the actual human.

It is a shame that it didnt get a remaster and the fact that it barely has any mods resembling a remaster,. Relic has been to busy with the Company of heroes games. Ironic that the first one is the best in both cases, Company of heroes 3 isnt looking that impressive.
Bricky, I'll be 100% honest bro, I only subscribed to your channel for 40k, they will most likely be the only videos of yours I watch, so thank you for the video.
The music in Mechanicus is so good I listen to it even when I'm not playing, like when I study or read or whatever. The music absolutely blows my mind.
Seen Event Horizon... thought for myself: well chaos big nono.. I've played Stellaris few days later and the new event appeared: Horizon Signal... I immediately took all my battle fleets and troop transport fleets and I sent them next to the system where the event was discovered... I've overreacted a little bit but could you blame me?
A bit late to the party, but Bricky, there is a vr game called Battle Sister. It's on the Quest 2, and probably other vr systems, and it's pretty damn fun. A short campaign with separate horde mode too.
lore wise the Mechanicus usually blurt out a string of 3 different type of digitasl languages combined with normal imperial gothic over their speakers. They just think talking is inefficient, which it is.
I think Ultramarines was actually an okay movie. Hard to beat John Hurt screaming "Burn Heretics!" Praise the Emperor we got to hear that before John Hurt passed away.
I recommend the other game made by the Deathwing developers EYE Devine Cybermancy it was extremely inspired by 40k and is more of an rpg it can take a bit to go into but has a ton of options that you can explore plus there’s 32 player story co-op also if you’re looking for a 40k but totally not 40k movie watch Starship Troopers it’s basically an Imperial Guard vs Tyranids movie
Vermintide will always be better than Deathwing. Total War: Warhammer is also extremely good but, this video is sadly only 40k media and games which is a let down.
I think it would be better if not for the shit loot system and the worthless dlc packs, it's a decent game but unless you love the combat system, there is no reason to stay and play, especially with how devs piss on the community.
with boltgun and space marine 2 coming out, along with plans for a show with henry cavill, it seems like 40k is experiencing a bit of a renaissance in the cultural zeitgeist, which is great

Normally I'm "meh" on ARPGs but I really like Inquisitor. I have a friend who recently tried Diablo 4 and said he has trouble playing it after playing Inquisitor (because it's just not as good).
This needs to be updated: Rogue Trader, while not as graphically impressive as many other games, it adheres to the lore like superglue, and I would even argue that its a great game to get to know most of the basic lore from.
I think the part about the "Space Marine" game that is most liked, is the Multiplayer. Because there was no other Multiplayer Style like that for Warhammer 40k. Playing as Space Marines or Chaos Marines, and able to customize your weapons, and most importanly, your appearence. You could make nearly all Chapters, some symbols where missing, but the color was there. Also it was fun to play, somethings where...cheese but fun.
What makes the Battlefleet games sooo good for me is not only the story and voice acting being top notch but also how ridiculously faithful and pretty and detailed the ships are as well as little things like the Imperial Navy having a Koronus Fleet paint-scheme. Which they were under no obligation to do as far as I know and unless you have played the Rogue Trader roleplaying games you likely never have even heard of the Koronus Expanse. But since that RPG has a big focus on space combat and the supplement book for more ship stuff is literally called Battlefleed Koronus with a Black/Red/Silver cruiser on the cover it was so damn good for me when I saw that the fleet was actually ingame AND the correct colors.
I would love to see what Bricky has to say about Chaos Gate Daemonhunters related to these other games. I think its pretty dang good myself, but I am a sucker for the Grey Knights :)

I cant find any games can you i wish i could find a game
I wonder why they didn't make a dow 3

It'd be neat to see the Total War Franchise make a game, Imagine dozens of planets with dozens of capture points (Cities, towns, etc...) on each that give you control of the planets, kind of like provinces and settlements in Total War Warhammer. With battles that you can control. That would probably be the most mega and hardcore RTS campaign ever while you try to take over the universe as Xenos or humans.
Ah yes the DOW1 Psykers "WITNESS YOUR DOOM!".

You are fun to watch man! This getting me through some bumps on the road of life. Thank you for sharing your love, interest, and humor!
As a Jojo and Warhammer fan, when I saw those FABULOUS custodies I died laughing on my floor, this was such a great choice to make them this way
I love that you brought up Event Horizon cause every time I hear about warp space in 40k I always think of Event Horizon
Looking forward to 40k darktide whenever it launches. Hope to see some gameplay of it soon.
25:55 your comparison of the humanity of the Necrons compared to the Mechanicus puts me in mind of something that Trazyn said to Cawl.
"I went to my bio transference in chains, you, on the other hand, you went more than willingly."
Hellsreach is an AMAZING animation using dialogue/narration from the audiobook of the same name, basically a movie.
20:14 Heeeyy! That's me at the right bottom corner! Now I am super famous! Feels good to be included out of nowhere. Great review btw.
Heresy!!! You didn’t mention Helsreach!
id put Helsreach oer Astartes any time of the day too
I'm not still actively painting or playing Warhammer but your videos are outstanding. Really well done.
i love how in DoW2 Retribution 30% of the orks story ark is the inquisitors hat
Ended up buying all the 40k games you mentioned that I didn't already own. You sold me.
I need to figure out where I'm up to with The Emperor's TTS series, I binge-watched everything years ago when I first found it and youtube has since hidden every new video from me that I assumed it had stopped.
Wait . . . what about Helsreach Animation? Ain't that worthy of the top 5? I dunno you do you
Astartes takes all 5 spots
Helsreach = #1
I agree with your opinions also I want to emphasize that everyone should watch Mandalore's reviews they're amazing.
Mechanicus is amazing! It also has the most table-top feel next to Space hulk perhaps.
wait hang on Magnus hates yugioh in tts. he does like magic the gathering tho, and is a huge nerd regardless. also, as a yugioh player his hand trap joke in the most recent ep hit different. my soul has yet to be returned to me, and i cant find my sides.

Space Marine is a great way to bring a larger audience to the franchise. Which for me is a big plus.
thunderpsyker is also a good source, he finally came back.
I loved Tau commander after that line 18:40
Lol wow bricky mentioning watching indrid cast for dow2, I’ve watched his dow2 cast for a few years now. I never actually dow2 multiplayer, I suck at RTS multiplayers, I just like watching the cast while I do my daily run/workout. Indrid does a great job explaining a lot of the intricacies to the game and are surprisingly entertaining to watch
Dawn of War 1 with the Ultimate Apocalypse mod is honestly so much fun. It makes me want a DOW 1 remaster and then have modding around it.
Ew. Mods are for peasants.
@@celphalonred1999 Mods is what keeps games alive, well past their prime.
It is a shame that it didnt get a remaster and the fact that it barely has any mods resembling a remaster,. Relic has been to busy with the Company of heroes games. Ironic that the first one is the best in both cases, Company of heroes 3 isnt looking that impressive.
Hey nice shout to indrid! Always make the time to watch his casts
"Do you hear the voices too"... That was the best from dawn of war for me xD
"The two dawn of war games" ah I see you have decided not to acknowledge the existence of DOW3
It’s like The Godfather.
There is no record of Dawn of War 3 in any books or dataslates in the palace.
Dow3 is heresy
Be carefull dow3 does not exist if you come across something calling itself dow 3 it could be malware
It would be an affront to the Imperial Creed to acknowledge heresy.
Bricky, I'll be 100% honest bro, I only subscribed to your channel for 40k, they will most likely be the only videos of yours I watch, so thank you for the video.
"Or is it a girl?" There's some great Mechanicus memes about that.
I only just discovered, having finished the game a few hours ago, that Scaevola is a girl

The intro. Of mechanicus is a big + all in its own. Also I can’t wait for dark tide
Try also Eisenhorm tome 1: Xenos. Great book and great introduction to the universe (also the serie who will come will be inspired by it)
The music in Mechanicus is so good I listen to it even when I'm not playing, like when I study or read or whatever.
Undereacted
Didnt exterminatus
@@alfonsocyrusjoshua9551 give it a while, and you can call upon exterminatus to an entire system.
A bit late to the party, but Bricky, there is a vr game called Battle Sister. It's on the Quest 2, and probably other vr systems, and it's pretty damn fun. A short campaign with separate horde mode too.
"Throw in da hat and you got yerself a deal".
lore wise the Mechanicus usually blurt out a string of 3 different type of digitasl languages combined with normal imperial gothic over their speakers.
They just think talking is inefficient, which it is.
I think Ultramarines was actually an okay movie.
Hard to beat John Hurt screaming "Burn Heretics!" Praise the Emperor we got to hear that before John Hurt passed away.
Thank you for shouting out event horizon. Amazing film!
This is convenient. I just started painting my Custodians. Thanks for the content Bricky.
I suddenly became interested in 40k after hearing Mechanicus ost (and the trailer), time to get that game I guess
I can't believe you didn't mention the hell's reach animation
Vermintide will always be better than Deathwing. Total War: Warhammer is also extremely good but, this video is sadly only 40k media and games which is a let down.
Got high hopes for Darktide
I think it would be better if not for the shit loot system and the worthless dlc packs, it's a decent game but unless you love the combat system, there is no reason to stay and play, especially with how devs piss on the community.
Supremely average game. Extremely grindy and repetitive gameplay loop with crap loot and worse dlc.
@@hibanamain5709 which game are you talking about?
40k>Fantasy/AoS all day every day no question about it
with boltgun and space marine 2 coming out, along with plans for a show with henry cavill, it seems like 40k is experiencing a bit of a renaissance in the cultural zeitgeist, which is great
Review Inquisitor: MARTYR. Also those are fake legs Bricky.
I like Space Hulk Ascention. It is like a video game version of the board game

Time to mention rogue trader... and daemonhunters. Like both a lot
A toaster has two holes, you can bring a bionic buddy!
Inquisitor Martyr is also great, it's basically Diablo but in WH40k, I got it fairly recently but am loving it since.
Normally I'm "meh" on ARPGs but I really like Inquisitor. I have a friend who recently tried Diablo 4 and said he has trouble playing it after playing Inquisitor (because it's just not as good).
What about Helsreach? I thought that was absolutely amazing
Wow, this is the first time I see someone shoutout to Indrid Casts. His content is amazing and the level of play is crazy high.
And then came Boltgun.
This needs to be updated: Rogue Trader, while not as graphically impressive as many other games, it adheres to the lore like superglue, and I would even argue that its a great game to get to know most of the basic lore from.
Oh my, I've watched event horizon a couple of times. Never made the connection it could have with 40k. Hah nice thanks.
I love how you enthusiastic Bricky is about 40k lore
"more dakka prime" xDDD
For those that don't know dakka is bullets/ammo in ork language, meme is that there is never enough dakka for orks
And multi laser masturbation says the Man emperor of Man kind
I would love to see what Bricky has to say about Chaos Gate Daemonhunters related to these other games. I think its pretty dang good myself, but I am a sucker for the Grey Knights :)
HELL YES! Event Horizon had me so pumped when it came out and I was like "That's the warp!!!" LIBERATE' TUTEMET EX INFERIS!
