Agree, and is the first version of the firmware, they will make it better.
Another use is when one wants to shoot with two different focal lengths, or from multiple angles. I don't know how well it will work, but it's a nice beginning, This is hudge.

When will you release a firmware update that will allow video recording on 2 cards at the same time?
I have the Z6II and am thinking of adding a Z8, but this is on the condition that I see that you are willing to add this very basic solution in the video, so I would appreciate an answer..

AUTOCAPTURE for long telephoto lenses, how does the autofocus work? because of the shallow depth of field, would it be able to focus and take pictures in time for fast moving across the frame subjects? it have to be prefocused? would it mantain 3d tracking or other modes? if the subject is a lot out of focus because of the DOF of the long telephoto lens, 400, 600 or 800, will it recognizeit and shoot it? Thanks
Hi Eliud, the autofocus still works when using Auto Capture with a larger telephoto lens. The depth of field is not as shallow on the telephoto lenses as they are usually upwards of 2.8. The camera will still be able to find focus and capture the subjects even without pre-focus, however, pre-focusing would help as it would make the operation faster. Is that possible to set that function to one of the custom buttons?
Hi Aleksejs, the Auto Capture feature cannot be assigned to a function button as it is a feature that requires some setup. You will need to go to the video recording menu and select the Auto Capture option then set it up according to what you are shooting. The same goes for the Photo shooting menu when taking pictures. @@NikonEurope, Thank you for your kindly response. I understand that AC needs to be activated with some extra needs, and obviously that function is not one for “emergency” needs. 🙂 But anyway, it would be great to have some “short cut” button just to get there faster.
Also would be great to have that fantastic option like “Recal shooting function Hold” can be programmed for many F# buttons, or maybe it’s already possible but I don’t know how to set it. For example: I want to program functions by single press F1 for 3D AF, F2 for Wide-L and F3 for Single point AF.
Is that possible? 🙂

2:34 I wish there is way to be able to set this from a wireless controller or phone if you a have the camera setup in a spot where you can't walk up to it like on a basketball goal especially if you need to change it!
