How to set up an Emerald Swift BioActive Terrarium with The Dude
Вставка

- In this video The Dude creates a 12x12x24 enclosure for a single Emerald Swift. These guys are definitely a favorite of mine because of their Bearded Dragon like faces, they're sexually dimorphic, and that they are live bearers. This enclosure would only be suitable for a single, however I do give some tips for larger enclosures in the video. We actually raffled this enclosure off at our Point of Sale and our awesome customer Bambi now has it set up in her home. Thank you to everyone who partook in our Give Away!

Glad to see you posting again...I’ve used nothing but your products for my bio active set up about 7 months ago...still looks great! Still looks as clean as it did then ...I always recommend your products first to whoever is in the hobby! Stay healthy!
man i thought he was gone! josh is back guys. you know your the first reptile channel that i can just sit down and watch for hours unlike other reptile channels that are so boring that my eyes fall out! lol. just wanna say keep doing what your doing dude! 😃
I am so excited.. we just got one of these little guys and boy do we have some upgrading to do!!
nice video, thanks for the ideas!!
i love that you can hear the doggo i assume playing in the background :-)
You bet! Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
My bio active kit just came in! And im. Very pleased☺ THANK YOU AGAIN
Beautiful keeping it natural love it 😁
Love your products, wish we could get herps in CA though, but would like to see a Uromastyx and a Fire Skink Video
Where is the custom background video, I can't find it on your channel. Can you link it?
I found one at Petco for 17.69 because he had been there for 3 months and no one had bought him... never heard of this type before but he needed a home and I'm learning everything I can to try and give him the best home
Kinda sad you got one from them cause now more will be brought in
@@predatorsprey7378 Yes, while I agree with you on supporting chain stores, I am glad for the swift that he purchased. I'm sure the person feels they made the right choice, and is far better for reptile: better to have a good home where is cared for rather than be some ignorant child's birthday present or die from a (let's be honest) incompetent store. I bought my oldest red eyed croc skink from a Petco. I've had for six amazing years, and I'd to think about him being crammed in that horribly maintained tank or to be purchased by someone who wouldn't give two shits about him
@@predatorsprey7378 I work at a pet store, but it’s a smaller chain and independently owned, when they have an animal not sell for awhile they normally don’t get the same thing back in, the emerald swift we have has been there 6 months, we have sold 3 different long time residents here who now have a different species in their enclosure, possibly planning to pick up the swift we have and get them to get something else
Keep it up awsome tank love the background
Yay wanted a upload absolutely love the video and kits I plan on setting up all my tarantulas to your bio kits also please do more videos on tarantulas 😇😇😇😇 edit super cool intro and music that’s sad about the spag moss wish the leaves where in stock tho
Finding sustainable leaves that are ethically harvested and are clean is quite the daunting challenge.
The Bio Dude Josh Halter yea even tho it’s sad cause I wanted to have it in a Salmon Pink Bird Eater cage on top and bottom it’s better for the health of my spiders then the look I think I just get paper back bark anyways thanks for letting me know keep up the amazing channel
The Bio Dude Josh Halter in your kits there leave litter would I just get extra moss then or what just wanted to know
great video, I like the epiphyte method , I’m trying it with some pothos.
I have to hand it to him, he speaks clearly and concise, most importantly - quickly.
I'm not a fan of long drawn out formats on UA-cam for some of the reptile and terrarium channels. I want the information and instructions, not whimsy and empty content.
That actually isn't a philodendron or a pothos/epipremnum species, it's a scindapsus pictus.
Excited
Hello
Congratulations for this video,
Could you please tell me wath measurements should l take fot a pair of Sceloforus Malachiticus?
Thank you
Josh, can you do a setup for a STROPHURUS CILIARIS?
This was realy helpful thank you so much!
Love you vids btw
Is it ok to reuse bioactive substrate if your tortoise is healthy and you want to move to a larger enclosure?
So when spag moss is gone what effects will this have woth bio tanks???
Just add more moss and leaves
@@predatorsprey7378 i mean once u cant get anymore soag moss once there is none left to collect
@@jdsExoticz you will have leaves to also add which are extremely similar for what they do in ways but yes people are also trying to find alternatives
I am not finding the instruction video on how to build a custom terrarium background that you are referring to.
I will have a new one soon, thank you!
Can you maybe do an update about all your chameleons?
Got an update on these guys?
Please do jeweled lacerta and Mexican alligator lizard!!!
I can't find the video of creating a custom background!
what heat lamp should i get for an emerald swift
Hey I love these videos and I have been thinking of getting A russian tortoise, how would you make their enclosure bioactive?
Where's the video of you making a custom background?
Hell yes
Is that tank size 30×30×45
I like how people say bioactive sucks and has no benefits the there health when 1. Bioactive just looks clean and 2. its more natural then there paper towel one Exo Terra hid enclosures smh
Lol ikr
And it can provide extra humidity
@@enriquesexotics9095 I've never heard people say bioactive sucks
Who says this?
Thanassi Karasoulos me either
These lizards are beautiful. Its too bad I can’t find any captive breeders.
I know this video is old but that's not a philodendron that's a scindapsus vine
josh i love you. you're perfection
Its funny but I’m related to josh because his wife Danielle is my aunt Colleen.
My local petco has them for $10
Wild caught filled with Nasties.
What's with the mask?
they look like better versions of western fence lizards
I was thinking the same thing
They are from the same "family" as it were. Western fence lizards are swifts as well.
@@MidniteRaine oh well that makes sense
Cant wait for this build also i was first
Love you channel so much, but please never turn a lizard on its back like that as they cannot breathe properly in that position.
Great video but that is not a philodendron 😬
Love that you promote better care and natural enclosures but I’m not fond of the recommendation for such tiny tanks! Recommended sizes seem to fall year on year. That needs to be reversed.
sceloporus malachiticus huh i like sceloporus occidentalis better they look more real to me
I'm sorry what are you saying I can't understand you with that mask on your face.
Are you actually wearing a mask while making a youtube video lmao
PYou pI’m pp
