I'm sure another 50 years later people will still look at such computer with the same face as Britt Reid at 6:20.

Bruce Lee was totally awesome in the show!!! It's such a same he died at such a young age when he had some much left to offer the world!
Yes. The whole world was in total shock. In this episode if you noticed when The Green Hornet & Kato busted through the windows at the part a quick shit of Kato was wearing a mask with a slants on it. That was a different shot. It happened in other episodes I remembered. The ending fight scenes were coo,. The Black Beauty bursting out of the truck was cool action.
@@davidchan9632the whole world was in shock?! I don’t think so!
@@maggiemae7539did you see his funeral procession in '73?
Still one of the best shows ever. If only there had been a second season.
Costume party should have included a Batman costume .😂 this show was made by the same producer as Batman.
I see it was a grest short tv series ; van williams said they wanted ab hour like batman ; batman was more for a younger people like high school ; green hornet more mature audience after high school ; or shouldve a movies series big sceen stuff
It should have ran for more than one season.
@@derrickdavis664 gree hornet shouldve been a movie aeries instead of a tv show
That's why I said my other comment where's the Caped Crusader Batman 😆
I watched this episode on my birthday September 30, 1966. I was 4 yrs old.
I will always love Bruce Lee acting in the Green Hornet..
Not many people know this, but in canon The Green Hornet was The Lone Ranger's Grand Nephew.
I knew that as a child reading the old Lone Rangers and Green hornet books also I thought I read that Zorro was the lone ranger ancestors.
Cool.
The Lone Ranger
Tonto
Silver the White Horse
The Green Hornet
Kato
The Black Beauty Car
That makes Sense.
Yes its true. The Lone Ranger was a good too
One of the best theme songs ever
"Al Hirt" on the horn...
"Hornet gun...check.
Hornet sting...check.
Let's roll Kato."
That theme song was a showstopper! Al Hirt played that one. It's called The Flight of the Bumblebee!! And Quentin Tarentino loved this show and Bruce Lee.! He gave a brilliant homage to the show in Kill Bill, when playing the show's theme song while the Bride was flying to Japan!!❤️
It's not exactly the same, but is similar. Both played by Hirt, however.
Always thought Van Willams would have made a great Hal Jordan.
I could see that.
Ya know, I never thought of that, but you're right!
100%!!!!!!!!!
He would do an excellent Hal Jordan
I agree he would be a good Hal Jordan as green lantern! He has the face and the mask for it!
As a kid, you waited for when Kato would kick some ass. Every kid in the neighborhood imitated him.
Bruce Lee was amazing in this episode, and in all episodes, they both were. Ms. L. Churchill
I was 4 yrs old when this episode came out.And I'm still watching today
Rest in peace, Van Williams.
RIP Bruce Lee too.......
They're all gone now.
🙏
Van Williams has stated that he was glad the Green Hornet only lasted one year has he said the amount of work he and Bruce Lee had to do was overwhelming---he has never stopped praising Mr. Lee in every interview he has ever done since---he insisted that the writers of the show include Mr. Lee in as many scenes/story lines as possible
david graham
It should have been an hour long. And they could have won Emmys with, say, showing Bruce Lee having his mom visit and depicting it in a non-stereo typed way.
I agree with everything you said except the part about insisting that Bruce get more scenes or dialogue etc.. I don't think Van was in a position to do that. I actually think that limiting Bruce's scenes was good for the character, it made him seem more mysterious and deadly.
You hear that a lot about going to an hour, don't know if that would've helped. I think moving to another night might have helped but the show really had a lot going against it, the biggest being the success of Batman who muddied the waters for serious crime-fighters for years to come.
@@gerrydooley951 the only reason other then katos ethnicity being an issue is that kato with such incredible kung fu and style it would of over shadowed the green hornet, an cant make a sidekick cooler then the hero. kato def deserved more screen time and lines... where green hornet possessed wit, intelligence, money, charisma, gadgets and leadership. kato possessed a cool calm nature, focus, reliability, martial arts and being a deadly assassin. should be a partnership not an hierarchy relationship.
VAN WILLIAMS-HAT+MASK=VERY GOOD LOOKING!
I never missed an episode of The Green Hornet on radio as a kid. I still listen online.
I have all the comics up to now and cards. Even the DVDS. I have him in Batman and Robin 2parts.
I just luved this series, it was totally underrated, The remake movie, was a total bomb, why they made it into a comedy is beyond me, but Van and Bruce were awesome as the duo. RIP to both❤❤❤❤
What a super computer. A few clicks and the prediction comes out.
This was way better than the campy Batman series shame it lasted only 1 season
Look at those nice wide airplane seats. Even the bus seats are narrow now.
Love the "hornet watch" at 6:38.
One of the best things about the '60s were the cars!❤❤❤
Damn whoever did the score for this show was just having a damn good time composing.
It was scored by big-band leader Billy May.
And the MD (musical director) at 20th Century Fox, responsible for putting the score onto film, was Lionel Newman.
The guy with the toughest job was the Green Hornet theme song trumpet player.
+Don Mueller The trumpeter is Al Hirt, and yah he completely nails it. The music piece is The Flight of the Bumblebee. classic well known piece of music, many versions. You should look it up, classic "gymnastic" performance piece of music.
+Snoo Lee Yes, I knew of Al Hirt and his contemporaries long before you were born. I played the horn for years.
Don R. Mueller, Ph.D.
p
Yes the Green Hornet was a better program...
AL HIRT ON TRUMPET. FLIGHT OF THE BUMBLE BEE!!!!!
There no way on Earth that the Green Hornet (Played by actor Seth Rogen) would have been able to fight this well!!! No way!!! The is one of the best Green Hornet fighting display I have seen!!! And of course Kato is Always Great!!! Lol!!!!
Right!!!
I hope this comes out on DVD in the future! They'd sell out fast!
If they ever make another Green Hornet movie, they should cast Jet Li and George Clooney as the Green Hornet and Kato.
What do you think?
Who would you cast? 🤔
@@frankkoller2622 That could be pretty good. I doubt they'll ever do it though. I think the best we'll get now days is a low budget tv revival similar to Hawaii Five-0 or the MacGyver reboot.
Thanks for uploading. Watching from European Union, Lithuania.
If you ever build a hideout for your secret crime-fighting supercar ... dont "keep" it upside down, because the fluids in the car will be leaking. Stick with a simple elevator or even a ramp (there are "space saving garage arrangements" which allow you to keep two cars above each other without needing a ramp, because the floor is the ramp that moves up and down).
Hmm, as a car mechanic I never noticed how absurd this sequence is. Good point👍
Presumably the Hornet had the BB designed in such a way that the oils and fluids do not run out when the car was inverted. If he had state of the art drones, and a car with every gizmo, then an invertible car doesn't seem too far fetched, at least in TV land.
I had my 4th birthday party, on this day. We watched it and having a birthday celebration at the same time.
Man,the Green Hornet was misunderstood, Spiderman was misunderstood! Being a good guy sure has it's down side!
Remember When Alec Baldwin played the Shadow In 1995
@16:43 "let him make his move"
That's what the Green Hornet is all about. Moves, psychology, strategy, tactics. He knows thier next moves, plans it, and sets them all up.
what kind of character was the green hornet!, too much class, the same thing for his assistant Kato, great....
Rolis Gonz he was an early batman. He and another character called the shadow
So many memories!
In the old radio show this tv program was based on, Kato was originally Japanese. Then, World War 2 came along, and Kato turned out to be Filipino. Finally, Bruce Lee plays Kato in the tv show, and he's Chinese (Eurasian, but half Chinese). Something was definitely going on with Kato.
RIP mr lee and mr williams!!!
the TV newscaster was Gary Owens the same announcer on "Laugh In" RIP
Always a treat seeing Miss Case. ~
I love the music is so Arty..Whole thing is so creative is so genius like
The green hornet television show was always. Better than the batman television show
true. Batman was great too. both series were fun & w/ class. i hope The Green Hornet will be out on DVD soon. the two serials are already released.****
Both series were great. I don't really compare them. Batman was more humorous, more camp. The Green Hornet was more serious.
steve lehrman gaaaaaasp how can you say that?!
ejsbxbeia skd
They did crossovers with each other but it's hard to believe they were in the same universe. Batman was basically a comedy without a laugh track. Green Hornet was more like George Reeves in the Adventures of Superman which is what Batman was originally pitched to the Networks as a Sixties replacement for.
As a 9,10. Year old
This was and is
Really great
This may have been the second episode shot for the series, because Van Williams' Green Hornet mask has changed to what it remained for the rest of the season, but Bruce Lee's Kato mask is still the same (@12:48) as in episode 3.
+BPrice1A Including the screen test, I think I've counted 4 different green hornet masks, so far.
I think you're right. Scanlon reacting to the novelty of his secret entrance into Britt Reid's apartment @7:33 also points to it being an early episode.
No gas masked flight attendants , I guess they left because it was too hot 😂
Peter Haskell is the king of guest stars. He played the CEO of a toy manufacturing Sullivan in Child's Play 2 and 3.
I haven't seen The Green Hornet since it it aired when I was only seven years old. It's interesting to see an episode now, it's like watching Mission Impossible with a little Batman & Robin with a more serious plot. It's hard to believe that it only aired for one season. 🔫
Now that’s a computer 🖥 system ( 6:00)…pull the books 📕 on the shelf & open the door. Love the car. He has green eyes 👀
Maybe if they ever do a remake of this show Dan Stevens could play Brit Reid/The Green Hornet.
If you stop the film at 0:01 ... the image looks exactly like one of Gerry Anderson's THUNDERBIRDS sets ... with no people in it and and very angled buildings with lots of "glass and concrete".
R.ip all the green hornet's crew who pass on.
Wow TV's a lot different now. It was 15 minutes before I realized what the hell I was watching.
Great stuff.
Thanks for uploading this, This show is awesome.
they're all awesome. hope DVD's come out soon.****
+David Chan Next Year this series will have its 50th anniversary. Good cause for DVD. Original DVD was made from all episodes as one long movie, like lord of the rings trilogy.
+WaterRat Its so sad that Batman (which was being made at the same time) got all the attention--and since the Green Hornet was played "straight" (unlike Batman that was more
"campy") it didn't garner the rating Batman did and ultimately lasted only 1 season
+BeentBestway The 50th anniversary will be tomorrow, Friday, September 9, 2016(coincidentally, September 9, 1966, the date on which The Green Hornet debuted on the ABC broadcast network, was on a Friday, just like tomorrow.) 😃
Wendee Wagner was stunning. :D
Great series. Thanks for uploading.
Why they put that weird whimsical sounds when they use the computer? It's like the computer is this magical being that can do anything
NOW IT CAN !
Noteworthy how easy it was to tamper with airport and aeroplane security back in those days!
The overhead baggage wasn't even in compartments!
Fun fact the song playing during the party is the ost fr the show for the black beauty
Now THAT is one heck of a computer! LOL
It should have been an hour long. And they could have won Emmys with, say, showing Bruce Lee having his mom visit and depicting it in a non-stereo typed way.
I saw an interview with Van Williams and Wende Wagner (Miss Case)-they said they would have liked the show to have been an hour-long and that might have allowed a serious romance angle to have been introduced into the show. A 24-minute show (not counting 2 commercials) simply didn't allow for this. Van Williams also said that interestingly the series had two stories that were 2 part episodes and they were the highest-rated so allowing the story to run for 1 hour would have likely been successful
Uninterrupted episodes so awesome. The Green Hornet was the answer to my brothers Batman. I was thrilled with the Green Hornet over Batman. The show seemed dark and more gritty. This added to their air of mystery and suspense. The Green Hornets gizmos to me seemed cooler than Batman.
They even faced off with each other in an actual crossover!
@@Skyfighter64 I thought I mentioned that. It was a pity because neither side won the fight since it was Batman's show the fight ended in a draw.
@@geo386 Eh, I didn't get that info from the comment I responded to. I honestly like both shows for different reasons.
Have a wonderful day.
Miss Case 🔥🔥🔥
Thought it was lousy that Bruce Lee was sterotyped as an "Oriental house boy" when he actually was the most important part of the show---Van Williams (who was very good friends with Bruce Lee) pressured the writers to include Kato in as many scenes as possible as he knew the audience mainly tuned in to watch him
The "houseboy " angle was kind of played down. Bruce was the first macho Asian to appear on TV, or films for that matter.I disagree that he was the most important part off the show and there's no evidence to suggest that people tuned in mainly to seem him.
Whether the story is true or not (and I REALLY hope that it is), I loved it when I heard that when the show was released in Hong Kong, they re-named it "The Kato Show"! :D
@@gerrydooley951 he was def the houseboy chauffeur sidekick... no matter how u wanna slice it he was a stereotyped ethnic houseboy... world wasnt ready for it racism was still extremely present back then. and bruce lees kung fu took over the west by a milestone... it was bruce lee who brought true traditional kung fu to the west and to the world. he inspired many many ppl and action heroes today to do martial arts.
Lee was the only reason I watched this
@@robertperry1293 YOU ME AND EVERY DAMN BODY ELSE...
That guy kato beat up didn’t stand a chance
Superb show! Superb leads. Superb chemistry and action.
I saw on an old episode on "Entertainment Tonight" from I think it was the late 80s Van Williams said he was glad that the series only lasted a season, the stunts and everything else were too much to handle, he was hot, RIP to all the cast, forever apatt of my 60s chilhood TV viewing...
Thank you
In the beginning with the Green Hornet,Kato and The Black Beauty Theme Song it states to protect the rights and lives of decent citizens, well in this episode The Green Hornet,Kato and their rolling arsenal The Black Beauty protected the U.S. Government & the Importer,Manufacturer and or Exporter of the Gold!Absolutely Incredible!
2022 and still going on, WHAT A SHOW AND INTRO!!!!
In so many episodes when I was 10 years old I saw the Joker (Caesar Romero) easily beat up Robin and Robin crying saying "Help me Batman". I used to think to myself how I would love to see Joker and have to fight Kato!!!! And Kato would tell him "I promise you one thing Joker ... I will give you a much better fight than Batman and Robin put together!!!!" And then proceed to beat the tar out of him!!!! (Of course it would all be make believe using a stunt man for the Joker so actor Romero doesn't have to get injured!!! Lol!!!!)
'The prettiest computer programmer this side of the Atlantic' would have ripped him a new one if he'd said that today.
Thanks so much for these episodes of A great show!
I went on many CIA missions with Van Williams. Some missions were very dangerous.
Central Irvine Acting?
In the years before his death Williams confirmed that he had indeed been assetised by the CIA, but it sounded more like info gathering and Intel rather than dangerous missions. Some might laugh at this, but if anyone knows anything about the CIA and Hollywood, even back then, it's no surprise. Since he was a very conservative Texan, it doesn't surprise me that he'd be assetized.
Did anyone notice Case was wearing the green hornet like shirt? 16:55. Axford wouldn't like that haha
Mike Axford would blame the Green Hornet if a school bus was running late.
And probably often did.
4:48 I swear that computer in the back is the same one from the 66 Batman show's Batcave
6:35 i was like “god his car ‘door is ajar’ sounds crazy” 😅
Glad the air conditioning guys came to cool things down in the plane, great gassing scene.
The Green Hornet movie was iight.... i would really love one made more accurate to the show
Hopefully the new film will be better "The Green Hornet & Kato" then the 2011 film.
speaking of series and the like has anyone seen the short that was done after the Seth Rogin fiasco? It is only about 5 to 9 minutes long but the actor's writers and director nail the spirit of the Green Hornet and Kato
Van.Williams was the.best.actor who played the Green.Hornet.
I did. Le Frelon Vert; a French effort that was excellent.
I like this TV show
THE GREEN HORNET IS QUITE A SERIES I HAD SEEN THE FIRST VERSION BACK IN 1940

Gordon Jones also played the Green Hornet.
Bruce Lee are so amazing!
Wende Wagner beutiful !
Sadly, she lost her possessions in a house fire.
She passed away very young as well.
What kind of cars do the green hornet & the D.A. drive?
The one guy ended up being the 7 million dollar man
Just having Bruce in the show made it better than Batman. Kato would have killed Robin so easily and Batman !
Computers, apples??? We don't need a sledge hammer to hit us on the head to get the hint
They didn't think to use the computer to find out the Green Hornets secret identity...
It is a shame that this show only lasted one season. Not campy like Batman at all. Can you picture Al Hirt's fingers going like crazy playing the theme song. Is it safe to say that most viewers when they saw Bruce Lee doing his moves in these episodes did not realize that he could really in reality do those moves. Easily.
It's a crime wave it's a green hornet Bret reed it gave me lots of goosebumps
It's Britt Reid
excellent
Yup Bruce Lee was fantastic in this show. It’s been said many times. But I’m here to say Wende Wagner was a damn attractive lady. Died too young from cancer at 55. :(
Green hornet remake should have been George Clooney and Jet Lee but they missed the boat...
The guy from the 2011 movie green hornet wasnt bad
Actually they had planned to do a remake with Clooney and Brandon Lee but it was scraped after Brandon Lee's death, and Clooney went on to play Batman.

The Black Beauty is an IMPERIAL . (NOT a "Chrysler" Imperial) .
Genius The Imperial was made by Chrysler.
@@wlliebowen2043 From 1955 through 1975, Imperial was a separate division of Chrysler Corporation, not a model of Chrysler.
It makes a difference. You don't say "there's a GM Cadillac", or "how about that Ford Lincoln", do you?
There were three 'Black Beauties', two used in the show and one for touring. All were highly customized Imperials, the original was designed and built by Dean Jefferies.
A little trivia on this episode. It has two of Sharon Tate's closest female friends -- Wende Wagner, the hornet's secretary, and Sheila Wells, the computer lady. Wende, it is said, left acting after Sharon's murder in 1969, so shocked by the murders was she. Sheila was expecting Sharon at her home on the night of the murders, hosting a group of friends but Sharon decided last minute not to go and she was murdered that night. Sheila's grief was enormous and sincere, unlike many of those celebrities. Two of Sharon Tate's closest and grieving female friends in this one episode.
What a great supervillain episode.

Does Scanlin ever get suspected of being The Green Hornet's assistance?
Is Kaito supposed to be the butler as well as the sidekick?
