This was, is, and will always be THE Batmobile. The cars from the various movies were posers. This car having the cast signatures makes it PRICELESS.
@ at Ted
I agree this is THE ONLY Batmobile that exists in my mind and world. I think we were both born same year, 1966
Guy from Ohio has a nicer one.
so is this this the ORIGINAL that they sold at the Barrett Jackson auction for all those MILLIONS of dollars bacfk then, or is this just another one of those replicas?????
@@hcox1111 Best by far. A labor of love beyond compare, although this one's nice as well.
Right you are in your observation. This Batmobile is a replica. The Batmobile sold at the Barrett-Jackson Suction was, in fact, original Batmobile #1. It is owned by a gentleman in Arizona named Richard Champagne, the owner of a major trucking company. @@pizzasubs
This took me back to my childhood. I had a grin on my face the entire time I was watching this. Thanks for bringing me back to a simpler time.
Where’s KiTt car
Same here 😁😁😁😁😁
I was twelve when the original batmobile showed up in my hometown of north bay on the way to toronto cne exhibition. I would if i could get a pic of black beauty as that was my first time i saw bruce Lee and became hooked on kung fu because of him
a simpler and better time, when we didn't have the kind of social problems or national worries and didn't have to worry about social media freaks and North Korea nukes. yeah, back then, entertainment and escapement was fun. You didn't need video games. You could watch shows and then go out and practice your imagination and dress up and explore the world of creativity.
@ BobAdams
You and me both brother !!! I watched the TV series growing up in the 70s and fell in love with the Batmobile. Also Batgirl and Catwoman Meeeeeeeeooow. Lolol
I remember the Green Hornet show-and of course, how can we forget Batman? Thanks, guys!
The original Green Hornet show car was on display @ the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles for many years. One of the interesting aspects that separates it from the replicas are the 2 brooms, one mounted above each back tire. When lowered into place they obliterated the Black Beauty's tire tracks. Robert Petersen's 1st museum was on Hollywood Blvd. a block north of Grauman's Chinese Theater, and named CARS OF THE STARS.
Thank you Dennis for sharing these two iconic TV show cars. Loved the history behind them. And the specs.
Cool cars cruising thru a beautiful neighborhood.
The Batmobile was my dream car since I was a very young child. Such a beauty.
sankuybermatyounowmustagtoaki😂
These cars were a huge part of my youth! And I'm thrilled that so many of the stars actually sat in and signed the Batmobile. But I have to ask... who is this guy and how can he afford to have so many amazing cars? I mean... he's got them all (well, maybe not James Bond's Aston Martin DB5... but maybe it just isn't shown here). What a "super" collection!
Born on 3rd base
No answer where did this guy come from and how did he afford these. Where is his place located is there an entrance fee?
About 20 years ago I was stuck in traffic in Redondo Beach CA. And saw a car drive by in the opposite direction out of my perifinal vision. When I took a second look I was amazed to see an original Batmobile
I live in Lawndale and saw it too as well as the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile.
@@garyrunnalls7714
Cool Bro. I've seen that before too. I lived in Lawndale off. 148th and Prairie. Where did you live?
Love the Green Hornet Black Beauty, especially the original one.
Couple of fake black beauty in my cities
What a cool experience to be able to drive the Bat Mobile ❤️
I still have my Corgi 268 diecast model Black Beauty from my childhood in the 1960s, with the missiles and trunk launching radar scanner.
Like everyone else, these were my childhood! Thanks for the rides in both cars. Nice to see them out and on the roads.
As a kid in the 60s anytime you sat in the front seat between mom and dad the Hood ornament was a gun sight.
Wow, this takes me back to when I was a kid. I thank both of you for the share.
I bought an old 77 Mercury marquis 2 door sport that had a 460 in it. That thing would fly on the highway! It had all original adjustable air rear shocks that would lower and raise the rear. It even had the original 8 track player and rear fender skirts that came off.
I love the original Batmobile. High aspect ratio tires and the height of the car are like the 60's.
Beautiful 😍😍😍
Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed, Roger. Ready to move out!
I love how big, tough, and beefy looking these cars actually are. Total bad ass
Two awesome cars that I got to relive my childhood with. I live in the next town over and have seen his Batmobile at the Millstone NJ Cars and Coffee. To say it’s a hit is an understatement!! Great video Dennis!!
Love both these cars! Seth Rodger’s Green Hornet wasn’t the best film, but I enjoyed it as a kid. The Imperial is awesome and is a great tribute to the original car.
I hear there’s another Green Hornet film being made. Hopefully it will be more faithful.
I live in NJ...Saw two of this man's Batmobile's exhibited at Asbury Park Boardwalk some yrs-ago...Felt like a kid again 😄!...& John was quite the gentleman in showing me & a few friend's same...Hope to see him again someday!
John's a great guy!
I prefer the TV show version of Black Beauty personaly.
Absolutely. It was done seriously. The frat boy persona of Seth Rogen was a horrible fit for the character in the movie.
Love this story. Two great cars. Looks like a lot of fun was had making this episode. Cars look super fun to drive!
They were!
This one is missing the 2 pipes which stuck out the back, which were for creating an oil slick.
Originally, the Batman TV show was to be shot in B&W, so the original striping was done in white. I learned this from the guy who worked for George Barris and did it. Then they decided to shoot it in color, so the striping had to be redone in red. The 5 original TV Batmobiles were painted in a dull black because reflection wasn't a good idea to be filmed and it would look shiny on camera anyway, without reflection.
I guess that it is now years ago, but I met George Barris at the SEMA Show in Vegas. It was the first showing of the restored Monkeemobile and the restored Batmobile #2, made of fiberglass from molds made from Batmobile #1. There were 3 more completed and Barris had atleast 2 more uncompleted shells stack up in back of his shop.
Batmobile #2 and the Monkeemobile were restored by the same restoration shop near Sacramento and I met the couple who owned the restoration shop at a local Autorama show on #2's first tour. Their next project was going to be Batmobile #1, which George Barris kept in his possession since he created it.
Possibly, this Batmobile replica was made from one of those extra unfinished molds that Barris made?
Wow! Thanks for sharing all that great information 👍🏻
@@Dude101p It's great when you actually get to meet and talk to the people who built these special cars! It's also been said that the first Batmobile had a top speed of only 25 MPH. It's hard to believe, but, built from the Lincoln Futura, it was made to be a show car and only driven in and out of an event. That's probably why they built 4 fiberglass stunt cars.
@@automatedelectronics6062 wow I didn't know that. It's so cool learning all the inside information about stuff like that
This batmobile, which he said was a replica made from molds taken off of the original, is probably from the Fiberglass Freaks shop. They made their own molds from the original car and they are actually licensed by DC to build the replicas. Three of the original cars (2, 3 and 4 if I recall) were mostly used for promotional tours to malls etc. Since people kept touching them and leaving finger prints on the paint jobs, they were covered in black felt while on public display. A batmobile covered in felt, could you possibly get more 1960's than that? :)
@@automatedelectronics6062 As far as I know, George Barris rebuilt the engine, drive train and suspension of the 1955 Futura so it was actually driveable. Car #5, the primary stunt vehicle, was actually a metal car according to an old interview I read somewhere.
Thank you John for sharing your collection, Its wonderful to share your knowledge of the cars and history!
Great cars. But truly disheartening to learn that over 20 Imperials were destroyed. They, in themselves are really fantastic cars.
You can have a Batmobile too, they build them at Logansport, Indiana at Fiberglass Freaks. They are the only authorized builders by DC Comics. They also rebuilt the #6 original Batmobile. See one driving around town every once and a while...
Before the Batmobile became a big deal , I attended the Beverly Hills car show, held on the lawn of the high school. Barris was there in a brown one piece jumpsuit, where he stayed between the monkee mobile and the bat mobile. This Batmobile in this video is much nicer.
I remember that brown jumpsuit!
Had both of these as corgi toys as a kid. These are in much better shape than mine were.
Holy Toledo Batman I seen someone named Dennis Driving your Whip. As a 7 year old in 1969 I never missed any reruns of Batman series. At least 10 times each episode. Lucky Man Dennis.
This brought good memories.
Thank you very much.
My favorite car is Batmobile when I was a kid I used to watch the episodes so I could see the car LOL
What made me really smile was seeing the Batmobile "eyes" & taillights - those were new 😊
They called every demolition derby driver in southern California looking for cars for the green hornet movie . I sold them a roller
I think John was puckering up as Dennis was blowing thru stop signs and doubling the speed limit on those side streets. When you have a few thousand hours into a car it's hard to let someone else drive. Hats off to John he is a true hero!
The only thing cooler than these cars are guys save, collect, and love them and are awesome enough to share them with the world.
Brilliant thanks for showing these off
What a blast from the past...
Love Batman!!!!!
🦇👍🙂
The BEST Batmobile EVER !!! Simply BEAUTIFUL !!!
I used to watch both of the shows I love the Batmobile I enjoyed watching your video on the cars
I'm glad a person that appreciates these great cars has them
Yeah, like some collectors, who stick them in some collection and just let them sit. He shows them, enjoys them, and lets others enjoy them too.
12/20/2022{||} Back in the mid-80s, I got to sit in the Bat Mobil when it was in Rapid City, SD for a car show. I was I Hollywood heaven, so to speak, as I sat there. 19 years old, I think... It's too long ago to be exact.
People give so much credit to George Barris for building the Batmobile. But just watch the Glen Ford movie "It Started with a Kiss" to see how it looked as the concept car it started as. Barris did so little to it, you can barely tell the difference.
Thanks Dennis.. ALWAYSSS ENJOY you showin off these Cool old cars!!!!! LOVE My Classic Car!!!! (I'm a Car Girl!!! )
Now... off to watch... Warner Brothers. Batman/The Batmobile the Documentary
I'd love to borrow "Black Beauty", drive to several chain restaurant drive-thru's, and see how accurate my orders were filled...
Thank you. This is phenomenal.
Agreed that the TV Batmobile will always be the standard cool as some others might be. The BB was always my favorite. It was my usual car to race on my old Aurora slot track. (also, I like the Green Hornet and Kato as a character team better than Batman & Robin)
A really great 👍 video of these amazing cars the old school rules I still have the original greenhornet
Fantastic. My favorite car of all. The Batmobile. What a beauty.
Saw it 4 times thru the years. Once with Adam West... he was wonderful to my kids with pictures and autographs.
Awesome cars! Thank you for taking the time to show these fine machines. G.
The only reason i watched Bat Man and the Green Hornet were the cars..lol..👍👍👍
Me too! Well that and Catwoman, Julie Newmar of course. (the Only Real Catwoman, in my opinion) Oh, and Batgirl. They looked SO Hot in their suits!
The original builder of the "Batmobile" I believe his name is "George Barris" the top speed was 45 mph he said that they just sped up the film to make the car look like it was going fast..When your a little kid it looked like Batman was flying around going 100 miles per hour it's amazing the tricks Hollywood has even in the 60s..All great cars...👍
Ingenius
Holy Batmobile Batman
My dad got to mess around with a Batmobile Barris brought to Detroit in '66. One of my siblings has a Polaroid of George and my dad sitting in the thing, Dad behind the wheel.
It's amazing that this guy does all his own filming, sound, editing, producing and directing! At least I assume he does because I've never seen any credits on these shows.
Not really. The production company is MadStache, Inc. and a lot of talented people have been involved over the years in the production of the show. We just never ran credits.
Love the Green Hornets car. So super nice. Lots of customization. Beautiful green lights, everything. Awesome!! The Batmobile is incredible!! How amazing. Thank you for this amazing video. 😁🤛👍
Too Cool Guys... Thanks for Sharing
the Batmobile is iconic but i do love the green hornet headlights, very cool.
Amazing cars nobody create others cars like this cars great George Barris Rest In Peace.
I collected lots of batman models I am a great fan of the 1966 show
Damn blowing through those stop signs, lol
🦇 Really enjoyed!!!! 🦇
The original Green Hornet car had a door on top of the trunk that opened and launched a drone !
That's BEFORE drones became popular.
There's a replica of the Batmobile here in Florida, that I see once a month on beachside. 🇺🇸
I think Dennis would make a good Bat villain! Great to see these two cars, and the Bat Mobile is a fantastic recreation 👍
What a cool collection
What happened to all of the gas and fluids when the Green Hornet mobile was upside down in the flip floor garage ? Bet they find a lot of loose change
Having owned the #1 CAR i much prefer it over this reworked model. The orginal car was lent to the Petersen's by me for display. It was later sold by to Petersen's
Once I seen "Grease Lightning" I smiled like the same 4 year old who saw it in the movie theater when it 1st came out
Yeah, he has a LOT of NICE cars there.
How about an expose' on Clouseau's "Silver Hornet"? What a piece of work that thing was _!!!_
Best episode EVER!!! GREAT JOB DENNIS AND CREW 👍
I agree Kenneth!
@THROTTLE POWER like where on EARTH would one be able to get such an insider look at such amazing and rare vehicles? I'm sure Dennis can easily make more videos from this gentleman's collection as he seems to have TONNAGE of cool stuff.
@@kennethwise7108 👍👍👍👍
After school every day, glued to the tv, enough said!
With a Stash like that Dennis. You don't need a cape.
As a kid in the 70's George Barris kept the Batmobile and Munster cars in his shop storefront on Riverside Drive for years, a friend of mine would kick it at his shop sometimes.
I loved the Green Hornet and Bruce Lee
HOLY VIDEOS BATMAN!, what an amazing nostalgic cruise!!! Yes Robin, all he needs is a searchlight with my BAT logo in it!
Could you imagine cruising to the store or dropping off kids at school in the Batmobile.
My youngins would Absolutely LOVE it!! So would a lot of their teachers. They're all pretty cool there! And come outside to see everyone off and to make sure they leave safely. That is really nice!
Those are some really bad ass vehicles 👍
I showed this to my wife so she doesn''t think I'm so nuts for buying a toy of the TV batmobile a year or so ago. At least I didn't have to have the real thing.
pretty cool...what does that man do to be able to pick these up..
BTW, Dennis must have been so excited, he rolled through a stop sign. Can't blame him for that.
I'm Batman.
I was 6 in 1966, if I saw that batmobile back then I would've been in heaven, I'd do the towel around my neck running around, da-na-na-na .
BLACK BEAUTY !!!! By far is the BEST!!!!
Wings of the green hornet never thought of that
Would be even cooler if he had the original Black Beauty either Black Beauty 1 or 2 . But the Batmoble is cool by itself.
The Black Beauty was the best feature of the remake. Probably the only good feature.
The original TV “Green Hornet” show was on ABC for 1/2 hour starting at 7:30 on Friday nights. It was followed by “The Time Tunnel”, a one hour show which also lasted only one season.
I’m disappointed to hear that they trashed 25 1966 Imperials in the making of the 2011 movie, especially since they had (Computer graphics imaging) CGI available. Granted, CGI would not have been quite as realistic, but after having seen “The Aviator”, the 2004 biopic about Howard Hughes, movie maker, aircraft developer, and test pilot from the 1920s to 1940s, I say that CGI was good enough.
Seeing a car driving down a suburban street with bonnet mounted machine guns be like🤯
wow, this seems to be a fun channel. I don't know why I haven't found you before. I want to see the other cars from others shows, too!! Memories, man....memories.
The Green Hornet TV show ran in 1966-1967. I wish the original TV Black Beauty could be recreated. This 2011 Movie Black Beauty isn’t any thing like the original.
Freaking fantastic man, he’s really lucky having all of those beautiful cars, I’d give a kidney for even one of those buggy’s, let alone the Batmobile. Sweeeeeeeeet video man 😊
No other car like The Batmobile.
To the batmobile let's go
I love that Batmobile! Thanks!
Thank you, that was outstanding.
I need a 66 Batmobile in my life quite desperately.
"Batteries to power; turbine to speed"
Those high mounted headlights really stand out to me.
