“If I have my opponent reacting to me, he’s not initiating his offense.” The last sentence brings this all into focus. Great instructor and great teaching.
This guy is amazing, I’m new to boxing and found his tips about the hips when throwing a jab is useful and generates more power. I hope he come back one day
Excellent form just studying his videos as part of a boxing routine for a young boxer could help you progress very fast this man is a great personal trainer 👍
NakMuayify To be honest one of the best people that pull that off is Dominic Cruz. Basically he uses Ali's kind of stance that heavily utilizes foot work and tricks his opponents. Usually he will use typical boxing techniques and then they will start looking sloppy, because it looks like he's committing to them too much and then he'll use that to throw people off and throw a kick, or go for a quick knee tap. hope that helps, and sorry about it being like 2 years later. lol.
Your videos are fantastic!!!!!!! Quick Questions! 1. Doesn't "opening up" to kick telegraph that you are getting ready to kick? 2. What recommendations do you have for boxing from an open stance?
Emmet Harrison 1. Open up with foot feints. Step out an open up when at range to numb your opponents senses to that setup. The let it rip. 2. Dont open up. When you’re opponent comes across your face hes down your power line. Hes off balance aka shoot or let your power hand rip.
Sir, I had a midshaft humerus fracture 9 yrs back on ma left arm, now I started boxing and am not able to do left hook..so what am asking will I be able to do after a long period training or should I realise this sport is not for me?
lol this guy if yoru right hand is down and you know its down when someone inside slips you will use your right hand to parry a jab or catch a hook ..look at tommy loughran vs james braddock for examples...look at packey mcfarland vs mike gibbons for this ..benny leonard vs tendler for southpaw etc ..hands down is not a detriment!
Aw come on. Like the guy said before, it's all mathematics. You have a much better chance protecting your chin when your hands are up. You can catch a jab, a hook etc than your hands are down. Granted, if you have better than average reflexes, you can make it up in speed but for the majority of people out there, hands up is the best way to protect your chin.
@@izhamsham843 boxers with high guards leave gaps that allow you to fire thru and hit them square in the chin, so that theory is out ,again its not reflexes packey mcfarland didnt have lightning fast reflexes you want your hand in parry position in front of your face you can raise that hand from your sternum in other words you dont need your hands up to chin or forehead level!
look at the 2 white guys in this clip ,they dont have super fast reflexes and they arent getting hit with jabs (hint their rear hand parrying is on point!)
bro keep your hands up after you throw a jab especially the one two you're teaching punches and you're bringing them back to your chest plate you can get countered and your teaching this??
The majority of the video is based more about the footwork while throwing the jab cross instead of the technique of throwing them, he covers that you shouldn't lower your hands after throwing the punch in the beginning of the video but I understand your thinking, he is a great teacher

Ray Y Good question. I’m pretty sure those are the 9’s, and that’s a custom. Perhaps a boxing fit. Yeah man, those are super clean.
