Great walkthrough to the MTD-1054 Super Illuminator series. I'm a Casio Marlin collector and own a pair of MDV-102 which share the same module and it's great to see and know all other variants of this model. Looking forward to more videos. Cheers!
Great video, thanks. Please consider doing a comparison of the MDV-102 (MTD 1054) and the newer MDV-106, which has something of a cult following here in the United States. A Google search shows the MDV-106 is worn by Microsoft's Bill Gates. Both models are rated for 200 meters and thus feature a marlin, although I understand that mark is going away. I prefer the smaller diameter of the MDV-102. And that older model is now a collector's item--I see two listed on eBay for $450.
That 106 has been on my list for so long! I haven't got round to buying one because I already have too many dive watches and it doesn't have the cool LEDs of the 102 / 1054. But maybe I can justify getting a 106 since a review has now been requested ;-)
Ah, good question. I assume that they are - aside from the dial design, the case design, and the handsets, everything else seems to be the same: the dial size, date window placement, the crown and LED button positioning. I've never removed the movement from one of these though, so there may be a quirk I don't know about.

Are the modules interchangeable?
