My understanding is that adult Changli wasnt trying to protect us, instead she wants to show us that she is able to control her flame now and situation is within her ability to handle.
They are probably ordered to post male rover only, but someone who in charge of this channel post the female version instead typical yuri shipper 🤦♂️ but their ship will never be Canon anyway since its a Chinese game. In genshin mostly aether's cinematic are being released and it's on all channel.

@@karuto5849 i think it's because genshin tends to see aether as the 'canon' traveler and lumine as the abyss princess, hence why almost all trailers and cutscenes keep aether instead. whereas wuwa seem to see both rovers as 'canon' instead, since the two rovers don't seem to be linked storywise unlike genshin, where the entire backbone of the story is about the unchosen protagonist. both rovers have been featured together in promo art already. also, don't act like kuro is LGBTQ+ unfriendly because it's chinese. they made PGR after all, where we have both male and female characters that have lines with romantic implication toward the commandant, who can be either male or female (ex. chrome for men, lucia for the women). there's also nothing wrong with posting both cutscenes, since there may be players with female rover who want to see the cutscene again :)
What I love about how Kuro writes character quests is the fact that some are either still connected to the rover trying to regain his/her lost memories despite the emphasis being in the other character or they add to the world-building. This is apparent in Changli's quest but also in Yinlin's. While Jiyan and Lingyang adds to the world-building. It's a good balance. I hope they continue with this writing and improve upon it. I was surprised to not have felt detached to the quest since I expected it to have nothing to do with the rover or the general narrative which is a huge blunder on some games like this. Also, the music. Goddamn.
Yup. I feel like its a good balance since we're the MC afterall yet we didn't overshine the others. Just like 1.0 as well. Although we're the key to the war, everyone still played a part.
I also like how it didn't focus on NPCs. They existed to help tell the story, but the story wasn't focused on them. They weren't completely useless either, but just not the focus.

Gotta love the extra work to design Changli's on her child form. It's a story about her past and you can just design a generic apparition of a small child but they didn't.

Changli's story is very well written, Showing her personality when she was a child (alone, Innocent, cursed, but still loves helping others) was so clever, it gives her adult characters another whole dimension, other than the "Yae Miko vibes" (manipulative, cold, deceitful, dangerous" woman) waiting to see her full story and how she got her firepower, imagine a "Pheonix sentinel" of another Nation that was the one who gave her her power, and she is not from Jinzhou...damn.

I loved this cinematic. The moment she holds Rover’s hand and reassure them her forte doesn’t hurt anymore… as if she knew they met her young version, and they saw how bad she was hurting from not being able to control it… It’s such a gentle touch that gives Changli a completely different vibe from just being the “dommy mommy” her design screams at first sight.
Later in the quest she mentions she made "new memories" inside the sonoro sphere, while rover mentions they couldnt be there for her in reality. The animation showing them both at ~0:49 onwards shows them both, the board breaking/game ending, waves being wuthered and them glitching together resulting in the "heart feather". From that, i guess she does know. Because small Changli's memories merged with hers, resulting in her opening her heart (the feather we get) to rover.
This was the best cinematic so far, I rarely rewatch cinematics but this one I watched dozens if times already and I still have goosebumps when Changli and smol Changli run towards Rover 😭😭😭

In changli profile chat 1 she explains the importance of the phoenix feather. Rover (female/male) is the only person that can touch changli without getting burned, because that feather derived from her heart. She can also track rover position with this power. Rover past is very interesting too. Changli animations and powers are beautiful, kurogames deserves the best for these efforts.
loved how heartfelt of a dimension was added to her with this quest. She could have kept just the sly schemer vibes and i would have been fine, but seeing how earnest she really is deep down was getting me quite emotional, she feels so much more fragile after having played the quest, I now have the urge to want to protect her despite her being a million times more capable than me. At the end of everyone's story quest i keep just wanting to give them a hug 🥺
Changli's story is really profound and deep. For a side quest, it was truly wonderful. I have to admit that I wanted to draw her first because of her appearance and personality... But what made my resolve firm was her story quest. Thank you!!

Her name is Changli, which is written 长离 in Chinese. The word means phoenix, and it comes from a 2,000-year-old Chinese book. Changli herself also used the Chinese mythological Vermilion Bird as a reference, and the Vermilion Bird, as a sacred bird, is also a representation of fire.
I thought the concept of a phoenix or vermillion bird was found in relics far back as the Shang period ~1800BC. Perhaps not the characters/written term tho, but im pretty sure there is imagery of phoenix, dragons, and tigers on pottery and jade carvings from that time they've dug up.

What changli lacks is an exclusive echo phoenix like her disciple jinshi with an exclusive dragon echo. Maybe it can be made for future patches. We need another flying echo to make exploration easier. For the time being, the ghostrider is not bad, but it doesn't match the cute appearance of changli. What do you guys think?
100% agree. Changli is supposed to be from another one of Huanglong's city states so maybe the one with the Fire dragon we can get second side story quest she gets Phoenix powers.
The couple in this plot actually alludes to Rover and Changli. Their names also symbolize the phoenix (female) and the wutong (male) respectively. In ancient Chinese mythology, the phoenix only stands on the wutong tree.It's the same with Rover and Changli.
It would be nice to finally get a freaking Gatcha that set up canon relationships similar to how single player games do. I kinda dislike the harem aesthetic so many go for, just focus on 1 or 2 super strong relationships that extend throughout entire game, maybe give final choice at end between 2 or 3. So i would greatly applaud this game if she became a reoccuring and important character leading us into each new Huangglong region and Rover and Changli's relationship deepens each time and you have the choice to be with her or like Yangyang in the end. Like i wish HSR would limit fanservice/relationship development to TB and Kafka or Firefly only and maybe have a choice at the end. March already been turned into Big SIster/sibling energy and i feel that works better for the family express dynamic.

Also, just a thought out of my head, but it could be also nice if there was some bond developing between other playable characters too, because it makes them more alive. It kinda strange to look around and be like: "Wait, so none of you are married? None of you ever had gf/bf!?" The problem is, there's some people who mislead fiction with reality and think: "Hey, that's my girl, how dare he!", but i sincerely hope there's only a few i saw and the biggest part of WuWa community are sane people that will appreciate well-written canon ships more than trivial harem story in which you can tell they're in love, but they didn't even hug, what to say about kiss... It could also synergize with your idea, so the character player rejected might find his/her happiness in relationships with another character.

I like that every companion quest of this game we've got to learn more about the characters' life and personality because it is ACTUALLY about the characters and not about doing 'errands' and solving problems for the npcs. And to make it better, it's also related to the main story of the game.

Changli Story Quest is extremely amazing. Much better story telling than in 1.0. i loved how kuro has improved so much and i hope for future story its gonna be even better!! And what i Love the most was the section with smol Changli. Shes just too precious..
Changli quest is the best character quest by so far the writing is great and show us Changli story ,also a glimpse of Rover past and cinematic scenes are fire🔥
I'm glad that we get to have an insight into the character's backstory and personality. Unlike in another game i actually feel interested and do not skip every piece of dialogue

Nah Jinshi’s quest was much more deeper and emotional.
The contrast between v1.0 story quality and v1.1 is insane. Both Jinhsi main story and Changli story quest is really well done.
And this is only the first patch, 2.0 is gonna be peak fiction.

Her name is Changli, which is written 长离 in Chinese. The word means phoenix, and it comes from a 2,000-year-old Chinese book. Changli herself also used the Chinese mythological Vermilion Bird as a reference, and the Vermilion Bird, as a sacred bird, is also a representation of fire.
I thought the concept of a phoenix or vermillion bird was found in relics far back as the Shang period ~1800BC. Perhaps not the characters/written term tho, but im pretty sure there is imagery of phoenix, dragons, and tigers on pottery and jade carvings from that time they've dug up.

Like im pretty sure i read about that when i was studying Eastern anthropology, but man it was so long ago, also i may have seen a documentary or two on Shang culture show ornaments with those motifs but also pretty long time ago.

Changli is an incredible character, the highest quality unit I have ever played in a mobile game to this date in 2024, details, animation, characterisation, presentation, her look, everything is absolutely beautiful
its a really good thing to post the cinematic cut scenes since most players just pass it and some content creators might need them for edits later so keep doing that ^ ^

What changli lacks is an exclusive echo phoenix like her disciple jinshi with an exclusive dragon echo. Maybe it can be made for future patches. We need another flying echo to make exploration easier. For the time being, the ghostrider is not bad, but it doesn't match the cute appearance of changli. What do you guys think?
100% agree. Changli is supposed to be from another one of Huanglong's city states so maybe the one with the Fire dragon we can get second side story quest she gets Phoenix powers.

The couple in this plot actually alludes to Rover and Changli. Their names also symbolize the phoenix (female) and the wutong (male) respectively. In ancient Chinese mythology, the phoenix only stands on the wutong tree.It's the same with Rover and Changli.

It would be nice to finally get a freaking Gatcha that set up canon relationships similar to how single player games do. I kinda dislike the harem aesthetic so many go for, just focus on 1 or 2 super strong relationships that extend throughout entire game, maybe give final choice at end between 2 or 3. So i would greatly applaud this game if she became a reoccuring and important character leading us into each new Huangglong region and Rover and Changli's relationship deepens each time and you have the choice to be with her or like Yangyang in the end.
Like i wish HSR would limit fanservice/relationship development to TB and Kafka or Firefly only and maybe have a choice at the end. March already been turned into Big SIster/sibling energy and i feel that works better for the family express dynamic.

The problem is, there's some people who mislead fiction with reality and think: "Hey, that's my girl, how dare he!", but i sincerely hope there's only a few i saw and the biggest part of WuWa community are sane people that will appreciate well-written canon ships more than trivial harem story in which you can tell they're in love, but they didn't even hug, what to say about kiss...
It could also synergize with your idea, so the character player rejected might find his/her happiness in relationships with another character.
Her quest was truly awesome and it really showed more of her character and what she has gone through to get to where she is now.

This story quest is one of the best quests I've ever played in any game. So beautiful.
I like that every companion quest of this game we've got to learn more about the characters' life and personality because it is ACTUALLY about the characters and not about doing 'errands' and solving problems for the npcs. And to make it better, it's also related to the main story of the game.
I'm not a figurine collector but i'll definately buy a Changli figurine, MAKE IT HAPPEN KURO. 😩
