It's sad how Rover has amnesia, but the one person who was always there for him/her did not forget everything they did together for the past million years and is willing to do everything to keep them safe, even if it meant sacrificing herself. But Rover, being the gentle soul that they are, learned that sacrifices can't always be the answer and is willing to take a risk and find another way of saving Solaris 3 even if it meant going against the system that doesn't truly understand human emotions. This patch really expanded on Rover's Past, the purpose of the Black Shores, and Shorekeeper learning what it means to be human.
Did it? At least within the story, we only know that he was a founder of Black Shore and leave out of sadness of sacrificing Shorekeeper. That, and he knows Shorekeepers long ago, but I never know what the relationship is beside how important Rover is to her and based on her cryptic words, made her understand her feeling and emotion. It made the emotional scenes feel a bit forced to me because it never shown much about their journey.

The finale, where Mc stays with Shorekeeper inside of the system, even if they might not come back, could legit be a peak ending of some romance anime.
This scene alone made WuWa, the best mobile game of the decade where MC is not just a bystander, entertain others and clearing up messes but acts as a true MC. The story revolves around MC and some games completely forget that they exist. Then on top of it, Shorekeeper didn't shy away to use the word love.. unlike some other games where characters use you for their own good and they friend zoned you lol. I'm telling you, WuWa is slowly unfolding as a visual novel, great job Kuro Games.

The whole black shores soundtrack is a HUGE improvement, and beautifully integrated onto the story without being overshadowed, and good lord the ambient music and the battle music are top notch.

This was absolutely beautifully written and beautifully executed. I enjoy the fact that Shorekeeper's love for Rover was expanded on and addressed; something that wasn't implicit and didn't ruin the character. The symbolism with the butterflies is so endearing too! Definitely the best quest so far.
As someone who isn't even fond of romance (not saying Rover and MC are romantically connected, I still think their relationship is platonic), I enjoyed it a lot and could still say that this is one of the best written Acts in a 3D non-visual novel gacha games I've ever played. It isn't Surviving Luvem, Echo Aria, or Cinder Burns but great nonetheless. Id say the pacing needs a bit of breathing room specifically at the point after she got absorbed and before we're about to save her. But I'd rather have that than artificially prolong it by putting the saving arc on the next patch. Perhaps a few tedious fetch quests while building the world further could've helped. But still. I was trying to think which 3D gacha game gave me the same emotions as this chapter and I can't think of anything else. Come to think of it, this is one of the very few gachas where the story actually revolves around the MC, the playable characters, and the world and not just there sitting and watching everything unfold. I am so looking forward for the next one. This level of improvement in just patch 1.3 is insane.
I've played MGS and Ace Combat before. While it has not as deep of a lore nor a finished game as the 2 menioned, but the feelings I got from this story patch just feels the same. Knowing that the player character is actually a character, one who will fight for not just the world, but for those they befriended and loved along the way. Ace Combat 5's OST, The Journey Home, surprisingly summed up this patch's story very well. Journey begins and ends at Blackshore, "planting a seed", and "the answer in itself will be there". And the song itself took inspiration from the fairy tale of a dove flying far away to save its princess.
i agree with stretching it to 2 updates to build them but this one is actually well delivered i didnt mind. I took it as maybe they just needed to drop this one in 1 patch so they can cook for a bigger plot that will again involve shorekeeper and MC later. I keep forgetting this is a gacha game and altho story build up is important, i think they need to drop 1-episode stories just for lore and add depth later on. Maybe in 2.0 we will finally start seeing prolonged buildup of stories.

For some reason, playing through this part of the game literally brought a tear to my eyes, and I’m not even sure why-it was just so beautiful. What an incredible moment in the story! I don’t even know where the story is headed from here, but I’m excited to find out. At one point during this update, I thought we were going into the Sonoro Sphere (or wormhole) and that the game was going to restart with all the gear gained throughout the game, but the story has been too good for that kind of twist. I love how Kuro Games does not neglect the main character. Every new patch I can play through the story with Rover for better immersion and it doesn't feel like a chore. The character feels strong while playing and story wise feels truly relevant, A true Main Character. Every Main Character needs a main cast, which is where Shorekeeper, Jinhsi and others fit in very well. All together this story is shaping up to become an amazing one. Keep cooking Kuro. I loved this story and plot progression for the MC. Shore Keeper’s name became Sure Keeper for me and I’m going for R2 S1 because she deserves it.❤ Skeepr’s English Brit accent is really cute and who ever sang the song did an amazing job even though it sounds like they are speaking French and I can’t understand the language. I could still feel the emotion from the singer. The main story quest line made me wish it would continue longer and was sad when it ended. Damn you Kuro! Why couldn’t you guys have expanded on this story more! 😂

Yeah, I agree. Prolonging it by saving shorekeeper in the next patch while building up the stake would be the best. But the story is still good

I love how Kuro Games does not neglect the main character. Every new patch I can play through the story with Rover for better immersion and it doesn't feel like a chore. The character feels strong while playing and story wise feels truly relevant, A true Main Character. Every Main Character needs a main cast, which is where Shorekeeper, Jinhsi and others fit in very well. All together this story is shaping up to become an amazing one.

This moment between them is simply beautiful. So far it is by far the best interaction between the rover and any of the wuwa characters.
It’s a beautiful story ❤reminds me of the quest we had to complete right at the beginning of Wuwa’s launch; the husband and his amnesiac wife who loves echoes :’)

This in game scene is amazing and beautiful and i recently completed this quest and at last of the shores end this appears and the music is so soothing and relaxing and the last line by Rover/Chief Steward/Astral Modulatar Say ❤ Welcome Home, MY SHOREKEEPER ❤ is like a so beautiful and it is masterpiece in its own kind. Great work Wuthering Waves, Kuro Games,also the people who made this music for this amazing masterpiece ❤🎉 😍

Keep cooking Kuro. I loved this story and plot progression for the MC. Shore Keeper’s name became Sure Keeper for me and I’m going for R2 S1 because she deserves it.❤ Skeepr’s English Brit accent is really cute and who ever sang the song did an amazing job even though it sounds like they are speaking French and I can’t understand the language. I could still feel the emotion from the singer. The main story quest line made me wish it would continue longer and was sad when it ended. Damn you Kuro! Why couldn’t you guys have expanded on this story more! 😂
