Thanks for the heads up on the Marauder H scales changing to the Marauder & Midi style. I’ve been looking for an H and kept seeing these beautiful Marauder H’s but had the Midi style scales. I thought they had the wrong knife description. Until I saw your video. So I snagged an all PVD Marauder H in S45vn with the changed scales. I’m pumped up because the scales were the one thing that kept me away from the H even though in think it better suits me than the full sized marauder & Midi. Hope your all healed up. Take care!
I just purchased the drop point Marauder H and as a pretty big Chris Reeve fan (14 in my collection), I am completely blown away at how good Medford’s are - absolute art and science. Many of their knives come with some level of custom work and that makes them even more unique and beautiful!
If I'm being completely honest I have never felt a knife as glassy smooth as this marauder h and its honestly not even close. As a reviewer part of the game is to nit pick small things and find every perceived flaw possible but to me this knife is perfect and that says a lot become I got this in expecting to keep it for a week and then trade it towards a full size, instead I found one of my favorite knives of all time and I do not see me selling this anytime soon, if ever.
I’ve handled a few newer Medfords and even disassembled one and the nice action is because they burnish the knife’s surface where it meets the washer resulting in a nice flicky/drop-shut action. Sadly they still stack washers though. I agree with you that people who bash Medford knives as being unable to cut are just plain dumb. I also laugh at those who claim the Chinese knockoffs are better made than the actual knife. Like there’s alot to hate Medford for, no need to make 💩 up. I’m not a fan of Medford either, don’t care for the owner, and find most of his designs to be impractical and overbuilt, but to each his own. Thanks for the review.
@med_head Honestly man it sounded like you were trying to justify the use of them and that's a sensitive subject within the community because despite your good luck a lot of people have lost money due to poor package and just throwing an expensive piece of kit in a flate rate envelope is about the poorest packing job you can do. Go to the usps website and they will send you boxes free of charge, please use them because it's just a matter of time before you get burned.
First off, I love you dude. Weather I like Greg or not , the fact that he at least has the balls to say how he feels. We all need to remember that just because we don't agree with it dislike someone doesn't mean that are "racist" or whatever other terms that are better thrown around these days. I have 2 remind myself everyday .
I’m not a fan of Medford, his beliefs and most of his knives don’t appeal to me, but I got a Medford today, lol. Someone wanted a knife of mine, he didn’t have much I was into, but I picked up the Nosferatu sheep’s foot and fell in love, it fits my hand and love the action. It definitely doesn’t change my feelings about the guy and most of his knives, but I dig the one I got and it is what it is and I’m keeping it and will enjoy using it at work.
So as I stated in the video I'm not a huge fan of the man himself which is why I buy his knives exclusively on the secondary market so I don't directly support him. But I do like some of his knives, the gentleman jack is an amazing slipjoint, the marauder H and full size .26 marauder are some of my favorite designs period point blank and the nosferatu is a fantastic auto though I haven't tried the flipper variant. Beyond that the praetorian ti is just iconic and awesome looking, but the ergos do kind of suck. One thing I will say about Greg though is I have noticed change, nothing profound and I definitely still wouldn't call him a good person, but change none the less and we all have to start somewhere. Thank you for your comment and I hope you enjoyed the video and have a great day.
@@RedwolfEDC change is always good, and people do change and become better versions of themselves, we all do so I dig that. Honestly, I feel most his Knives would work for my liking if there were modifications here and there, like the Marauder is growing on me honestly after your review, Im thinking about getting the tanto, clip off the flat ground part and have a hollow cleaver, my plan for the sheep’s foot is make it a warnncliff and keep the slight belly. Why? Because most of the Nosferatu is angular, but that blade is round, it bugs me, if it were cut like a razor blade, it would keep the theme going and look more in place in my eyes.
Uh I just lost 2 of my Medfords in a move. Fighter flipper and a 2 week old fat daddy. I’m still distraught over it. I love when he gives you a good finger choil to choke up on.
That is horrible man, I'm sorry to hear that and I hope both or at least one show back up. I recently had a big move as well and I lost a whole bunch of stuff including several one off and some extraordinarily rare pieces that would be impossible to ever get again so I understand how you feel, shit is heart breaking.
@@RedwolfEDC ya toss in an SMF and a grimsmo saga pen. My fault I took them out of my pocket after work and didn’t make sure they got packed. My wife tossed them in a box and I’m pretty sure one of the kids tossed them.
@gmanblack9198 I did maybe 2 minutes after sending that. Still fairly hurt but I'm finding ways to still get some exercise, been out of commission for about 2 1/2 months and being stagnant this long is killing me.
@gmanblack9198 You know I remember you right? What separates me from most other channels is the majority of my first subscribers I actually still have and I fucking love you guys. Why do you think I just jumped into a conversation with you the moment I saw that you commented man.
The new slim midis are on bearing, these are on washers but it's so damn smooth and amazing and it's only getting better the more I use it that honestly I don't think bearings would even make a difference at this point.
Dude! I have lived with this life altering illness knows as nassatal. I carry a full size light, pistol, small fixed blade , pocket knife or course, spare mag, and a pen. So add in phone wallet and all the other little shit, it gets crazy. Lol. A good gun belt is a must. Even if you don't carry a firearm they are a great buy.
Ive been on the fence with this knife for years. I love over built knives but the are so pricey its gard for me to justify. Atm my main edc is a spyderco shaman a d it does kibd of feel smaller then my ideal pocket knife.
So if you like big heavy over built knives then I think you owe it to yourself to get a medford, they are one of the founders of that style of cutlery and they are the reason why that style of knife took off at all because they had more mainstream success then any other company at the time. I do not like Greg as a person which is why I do not buy any of his knives direct, everything I own is from the secondary market which is my way of separating the product from the man but MKT does make a good knife and the marauder line in general are incredible.

Sweet knife bro.
Thank you Ty.
Definitely one id like to check out. Great video 👍
I use flat rate padded envelopes all the time, I ship constantly and have never had a problem. 🤷🏾♂️
Go post about that in the groups and see how well it goes for you man.

Who the hell spells China like that? 😆

Actually flicking mine right now while I watch a review for a set of weighted axes for working out with that I am like 95% sure I am going to buy. 😊
