I didn’t crank on it that long lol, I edited out a lot of the segments where I let the glow plugs cycle/let the starter cool to shorten up the video some
Compression test , leak down test , also these engines sometimes will suffer from the hydraulic lifters “collapsing” but if there’s metal in the crank case that’s definitely not a good sign

Sorry nothing rare about a 1986 dually diesel or gas. They are really everywhere but ok!!?? And there are way to many will it start videos, you might want to change up or get better at speaking in the videos and videoing what your doing or your not going to make it. Sorry but a thumbs down!
It is rare because it’s a 4x4 dually crew cab, bullnose crew cabs are not very common let alone a crew cab bullnose 4x4 dually, ford didn’t make a f350 dually 4x4 unless it was cab and chassis (which would be regular cab) that’s why it’s rare, so if you don’t like the thumbnail go thumbs down every other exaggerated UA-cam video title. I enjoy will it starts so if you don’t wanna watch go somewhere else, I ain’t a professional camera crew I film this on my own phone for fun so thankyou have a nice day!
Stubborn old girl nice find though if I may say. Love the sounds of idi diesels
Yessur she’s in decent shape, thanks for watching!
Wow, Ive never seen anyone crank on a motor for 10 min straight. I bet that starter was glowing.

You ever heard of zip ties and bias plies? Wanna see what happens when you put 24V to one of these IDI starters?

Those generation Ford F-series pickups are rare these days, especially those crew cabs.
Time for a DT360
I just sold an 86 f250 super cab diesel, lariat with a red velour interior
This truckee is a perfect shot truck

Oh man you got a factory tach in that truck...wish my 84 granny 4 speed had one.
My other 6.9 reg cab long bed f250 has a factory tach in it too, never thought I’d own 2 factory tach trucks at once lol

I think I’d probably run some more diesel through it, and, make sure all the old residual sludge is gone.
Definitely a score of a truck. Find a good used motor and swap her in.
That's the plan bud, thanks for watching!

Gotta change the plugs and wires. 😮
What plugs and wires? It's an 80's IDI diesel.
