- My top 10 Fast Eddie Clarke solos with Motörhead.
I didn't pick more than one solo per song. Of course, this is a totally subjective ranking and you might disagree with me. In any case, feel free to share your own favourites solos in the comments below !
PLAY IT LOUD
A reminder that great guitar playing is not only about technical ability, but composition and soul. No notes wasted. Every note was just right, perfectly timed and just enough. In this respect he was rather like Ritchie Blackmore.
Ten bloody good reasons Fast Eddie deserved his own Signature Fender Strat but never got one. Complete with the weed sticker.
Absolutely he should have had a signature Strat no question. He made that Strat scream like no one else before him and into a new genre that will be unmatched.
I did contact Fender about this and they said they’d look into it? They never did and Eddie then passed away.
He's The reason why I think strats Look cool. If he had signature strat with those awesome dimarzio mics I would buy IT straight away
True rock n roll hero. Beating the shit out of his guitar.
You'll never hear a strat scream like that anymore
I miss him, Lemmy and Phil very much. The first 4 albums are classic. Stone Dead Forever is THE Eddie song
The ultimate bluesman on speed. Really nice list, dear friend. Made me wanna listen to the early Motörhead again !
You never should of stopped.
What a great quote, he really was a mad fast v8 engine of a guitar player
"Bomber" was the first Motörhead' golden age album that I listenned to when I was a kid. As a teenager starting to learning how to play the electric guitar this discovery was a source of fun, decompression and practical learning with nice memorable solos and riffs. "Bomber" really made me rethink my metrics of what would be a good rock n' roll sound. Eddie's solos always act like nice parts of the songs but not apart from them. His sense of being in the service of the main idea of the composition is a subtible but valuable thing that every musician should pay more attention. When listening to rock music people just wanna have fun, do not get into the way. Still today he is one of my favorite rock guitar players. Thanks Eddie!
Without these 3 men, there would be no Hardcore punk, there would be no thrash metal or speed metal. Fucking legends.
Without Motörhead, we wouldn’t have extreme metal like it is today. Yes
Motorhead isnt metal. Its Heavy rock
@@devlintaylor9520 Does it really matter what you call it? Lemmy always called it rock and roll. You'd be a fool to say they didn't influence metal
@@ryanmcallister2321Ok? It just isnt metal though.
The Capricorn solo is so uncanny yet mystical.
Legend. First band I ever saw on the overkill tour when I was 16. Had ringing in my ears for a week afterwards. Fast Eddie is so underrated and brought texture and melody to the powerhouse of Lemmy’s bass and philthy Phil’s insane drumming!
Completely (!) agree !!! Nothin' more iconic than Clarke's blistering leads !!! To me the fuckin' most awesome leadguitarplayer of ALL TIMES, his notes so harddriving, cannot describe !!! Fast Eddie FOREVER !!!
Live to Win second solo, Like a Nightmare, Too late, too late, Metropolis, Dance, Overkill live, Lawman, Sweet revenge, Fire fire.
I totally agree with your list except for Sweet Revenge and Fire Fire maybe... These songs are not particulary my favourites. The guitare solos on Like A Nightmare and Metropolis are brilliant though. Anyway I should have made a top 50 rather than a top 10...
check solo from Ace of spades-Shoot you in the back :) cheers!
Do a top 50 man! That would be great 🤘⚡️🤘
RIP Fast Eddie, i Miss you everyday brother.
Mind if I take a break I’m on the telly in a minute
What a under appreciated legend he was RIP Eddie you be forever be apart of metal itself
Very sad to realize that this is conserve. But the "Eddie-Sound" will with me the rest of my life.
I totally agree with Overkill for rank2, Stone Dead Forever for rank 1
Absolutely !
My favourite guitarist.
What an inspiration
This is a great list but you should have added on Step down and Like a nightmare.
Lost jonny was a cool more mellow jam, white line fever, instro, were some of my early favorites as well.
Saw them at Crawley Leisure centre early 80's so good, so pissed they were the days when most of the crowd were dpissed unlike now , m8nd you we still are the crazy gang from Horsham W3st Sussex
I bet that borrowed Fender Strat with the finish sanded off of Fast Eddie's is worth a million dollars to guitar collectors.
Eddie probably isn’t famous enough. It’s definitely a hundred grand though I’d bet
@@jonnytlong At $100,000 that is a deal. Over time the investment will triple to a million one day. "Fast" Eddie will one day be recognized as one of the greats like Dave Mustaine, Eddie Van Halen, or Geordie Walker of Killing Joke.
I've never heard this started b4..but the ole motorhead albums had an old.; like rennisaunce music sound 2 them..no-1 else sounded like this...I'm..positive,
Fast Eddie Clarke was the real deal. R.I.P. Lemmy, Philthy, Fast Eddie, Wurzel, Larry Wallis. Motorhead rules!
Saw them for the first time on stage on the Ace of Spades tour.
There were awesome.
Saw Motorhead several times over the following years. Although, they were still impressive, the chemistry of the original line up was gone.
Worst mistake Lemmy ever did was not letting Eddie back in after he went back on wanting to leave.
He will always be my number one on the guitars. No one like him
A totally underrated band at the start that influenced some of the biggest bands today, three lunatics my late brother introduced me to in the late 70's and have loved them ever since.
R.I.P.fast Eddie🤘🎸🤘my guitar hero since 1980
I fuckin love motörhead🤘🏼🖤
Great list! I would add “Keep Us on the Road”. Their debut album is my favorite!
I also like this record but the sound is a bit weak. A remaster would be great but that doesn't seem to be in the plans.
We are the toad crew is a jam but there's so many more all eddie s james are priceless.
@@DmageCase i use a master edition software from nch and equalize the albums that sound weak.
Absolute marvelous treat, thx
Solo in We are the roadcrew is fantastic
Stone Dead Forever, FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!
Stylish guy.
Great pics of eddie and co.. just the best band ever.
You forgot Robbo
Live yo win , All the aces ..........♠♠♠
Motorhead the way it must be, Eddie rules!
The Three Amigos sure played Rock'n'Roll!!!!
Stone dead live. 🎸😎🤘
Amazing
Mit dieser Gruppe begann alles bei mir. Rock forever
Motörhead forever 🤘🖤🤘
R.I.P. my Friends
Tough to make a best of list. He was not the most technically gifted soloist, but man nobody plays like he did, and he was the master of the wah pedal. Great list thanks brought back lots of great memories.
Fu.. technical. That shit doesn't fit into heavy aggresive bands its more for shit like most death metal bands play.
Technical us for people who like weak guitar solo's. Eddie's playing fits in with motorhead greatly. Far better then any technical b s. It's all about the sound.
@@grindfreakmike5754 true man. And every note he hit fit the song perfectly. He knew what he was doing
stone dead forever, hell yea.. the real one of my best song..
Falta Live to win en esa lista
Hell yeh
Overkill overkill overkill
Nanannaa. Fucking decent song
10=1.Motörhead-Motörhead Best of solo!
Long live Fast Eddie
GUITAR HEROE 🙏🎸🙏☮️☪️☯️💎🕯
Good List.
SDF RIP
Cool! Nice job on making the video. 🤘🏻✌🏻
I don't listen to Motorhead, but might get into it..
Yes you should ! At least the classic era with Lemmy - Fast Eddie Clarke - Phil Taylor. Try Overkill and Ace Of Spades. Thank you very much for your comment.
Do it. You won't regret. They did really decent cover of Louie Louie. It has pretty awesome solo
