Russ Anderson is one of the most underrated and not talked about enough vocalist’s off our time. Including this absurdly underrated band. I mean come on. I first got this video on VHS. It was one of many bands playing at this festival with the likes of Death, Coven, Celtic Frost. I highly suggest everyone to watch the whole shit and caboodle of this video with all its glory from everyone of the bands in it. You won’t be disappointed🫡
I had gotten this video on VHS when I was a kid. It’s part of a festival that had Death, Raven, Coven, Celtic Frost, and many others. One of my all time favorites live videos I’ve had and still watch to this day
It's such a shame they went nowhere. One of the greatest thrash bands ever. I would rank Forbidden Evil with Bonded By Blood and Kill Em All as the greatest thrash metal debuts ever created.
51, from germany, tears in my eyes..., bought all the vinyl when it was available in germany back than..., seeing this makes me so sad..., a time, which will never see the light of day...
Hardly another band can pull off a song that cloesely to the album track. So fucking precise! Awesome! Superb band, every one knows to handle their instrument, so does the singer. Insane.
I was at this show back in 1988, as well as seeing Forbidden and War And Peace open for Death Angel at the old Airport Music Hall in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Hearing this one live was amazing!
Glen alvelais is the fender man who played with testament at one point. Craig Locicero is the Voivod shirt and he's been the founder of forbidden since its formation. Both thrashing legends. I wish Russ came out of retirement and regrouped with the band. I would kill to hear new material and catch these guys live one day
Amazing guitarist as far as leads go, but not the right guy for the band. Which is why he was kicked eventually. He was more of a shredder who wanted everything to be about guitar solos and instrumentals, while everybody else wanted to care more about songwriting and riffs. Which is sad, since I love instrumentals and long solos myself, and the first album has some amazing leads and melodic instrumental sections. The Forbidden Evil album has 3 amazing songs: Forbidden Evil, Chalice of Blood and Through Eyes of Glass. All songs that are partly carried by their incredible solos and instrumental sections. The entire rest of the album is boring filler that I'll skip every time. Compare that to Twisted Into Form, that has less insane solos and leads, but every single song has amazing riffs and really strong songwriting that carries the entire album. Strangely enough, the only thing I would consider filler (or just of lower quality), is the title track itself.
Lol. My mom was a metal promoter back then and brought these guys to St. Louis with Sepultura and Sacred Reich. Loved this band so much I got one of their album covers tattooed on my arm.
what year was that? i saw them with death angel in sept of 90 at Mississippi nights. saw them the year before at club maxx in denver with exodus. we hung out with steve souza and rick hunolt before the show . i saw forbidden in june of 2011 at the fubar.
Reluctantly, I admit that I did not give this band a fair chance back in the day. Why is that, I honestly don't know, 'cause they were pretty much a perfect thrash specimen. This live performance just goes to prove it. And like someone below said - the fuck-ups don't spoil it at all, they just make it even more memorable.
See the light is flashing through your eyes, Deep inside your brain another stirs, They're telling where they've been and what they've seen Who is this that lives inside my dream, Visions are coming at last to me, Once I was blind but now I can see, Should you believe what you see, When you look through eyes of glass...... through eyes of glass.... Saw them live in 89 twice, at the Dynamo club and festival Holland. Great memories. This band is one of the best trashmetal bands ever. This song is just like the albumversion, incredible!!
I Remember the old days when I watch this. I have a Forbidden Evil album signed by the band and there manager at the time during a show at the Stone in San Francisco. Inside the album sleeve is the show poster signed by the band, and I have an unopened copy as well.
I grew up with this band and saw them at One Step Beyond in Santa Clara and the Omni in Oakland. Had my run in speed metal bands as a drummer. Loved this band
forbidden, voivod t-shirt...everything was there. thrash metal of the first hour will stay the best...at the time when thrash was out of fashion and many people hated...hi to all real thrashers, brother in arms of the first hour
First album is a classic. Second is good. Third is ok. After that... They could have been great. Don't know what happened. But at least they gave us Forbidden Evil. Great album.
Quite a few actually, the metal scene is full of good shit, just saw the black dahlia murder and they put off about the same level of energy on stage and in the crowd, insane show
The best Thrash Metal band period. So much talent, so many great songs, so much fun. Forbidden deserved to be a lot bigger. Love ‘em until death. Metallica take note!
Forbidden are an awesome band. Haven't made a weak album. And to pull off live what they muster up in the studio with such perfection and power is amazing. These guys should've been bigger and they deserve way more credit....killer band 🤘
Never gave them much of a listen back in the day. Not out of hate. But in those pre UA-cam, pre internet days when you could only get metal cds on import that you had to order in and had no way of hearing them beforehand and then had to wait months to get and pay through the nose for, they became one that passed me by. I can see why people love them.
Alot of bands play "thrash" better than Metallica, the first three kill em all, ride the lightning and master of puppets were the band on an upswing peaking with Justice in terms of technical guitar play but alot of those songs are just standard song structures played for way too many measures with some odd time signatures thrown in. Megadeth had better technical riffing , testament, dark angel, sadus, watchtower etc. Granted some of these bands started after hearing or around the times of the aforementioned albums coming out but they improved on it, when Metallica moved on to do well....the jizz albums hahaha

This band is sadly underrated
Sheeeeit! Anybody who’s anybody knows this outfit will fuck it up for fuckin ever
Absolutely!
Correct.
saw them many times, even opened for them, always ripped.
Or even criminally. Easily one of the Greatest of Thrash!
Russ Anderson’s vocals live are mind bending. Sounds exactly like the album.
One of the best metal videos ever uploaded to UA-cam.
Man, that Combat Tour 2 is one of the best thing I've come to see.
it might be.
I had gotten this video on VHS when I was a kid. It’s part of a festival that had Death, Raven, Coven, Celtic Frost, and many others. One of my all time favorites live videos I’ve had and still watch to this day
sama here, I have it on VHS somewhere.@@samowhat
Glen Alvelais is fucking amazing! The solo in this song is one to be remembered!
Fucking legendary
One of the best solos in the history of thrash.
Kain Nosgoth yes glen badass!
And such a nice guy. Met him at Dynamo Eindhoven \,,,/ Got a guitar pick from him
shredding at its best
It's such a shame they went nowhere. One of the greatest thrash bands ever. I would rank Forbidden Evil with Bonded By Blood and Kill Em All as the greatest thrash metal debuts ever created.
They did reach Andaman and Nicobar islands, where I am writing this from.
So, not such a waste as you might think 😊
Thrash till death brother 🤘🤘🤘
They don't make em like this no more!
51, from germany, tears in my eyes..., bought all the vinyl when it was available in germany back than..., seeing this makes me so sad..., a time, which will never see the light of day...
One of the best Thrash bands EVER. Melody, ability and killer vocals and screams. 🤘🏻
2019 and still raging to Forbidden. My hair is gone but the rage has only intensified.
Lmao 😂😂😂
Same here Doc

+libertydenied Except they play it and about twice the speed. Thats even harder to accomplish, hence why the singer has a few hiccups. Hahah
Try a band called Megadeth.

Future SLAYER drummer Paul Bostaph!

Saw them live while they were getting popular in the Bay Area.
This band (amongst many others) reminds me why I have neck problems today.
Can't be more metal than this
2:15 singer gets off beat and not a single member gets lost. The singer even starts singing faster so he can catch up! This band is amazing!
It was the drums
@@gaellopez-vt7ue I thought I was the only one that realized the drummer is always off. Thank you!
The guy with the voivod shirt is more stage climactic but the guitarist on the fender is the true underrated genius!!!!

Great song!!! Still today amazing talents.
i'm impressed, even after so many years. Skilled musicians !
These guys are true hard core rockers. The first dvd Forbidden Evil is harder than the Twist Into Form by a long shot. True metal gods!!
One of the BEST THRASH METAL SONGS out there. It would be unfair to single out individual musicians, but since I play the guitar: amazing guitar work
agreed
