This looks like heaven, people swimming in lakes, waterfalls, go and wear whatever they want, and interact freely. Now, Krka Croatia, that’s the place I want to be, instead of the west.
Unfortunatelly you cannot swim in the lakes anymore, it is prohibited from this year beacuse of the tons of waste and plastic tourists would leave behind in the water after swimming and hanging out around.... So sad people dont respect this beauty.....
Well, I'm completely blown away with Croatia. Thank you Gabriel for these excellent videos. I have traveled at least half way around the world, South America, Africa, Europe, etc. for the last 15 years. and never had any idea about this hidden gem, it is definitely on my list now!!!
Paklenica National Park on Velebit is something completely different, nature identical to the Wild West was the ideal scenery for shooting many western films.
You missed the old Electro-turbine exhibited there, the oldest hydro-Electro-turbine in Europe and 2nd in the world, if i remember well, in USA few days before was launched another one. The city of Šibenik is one of the first town in the world which got Electric lighting from this hydro-turbine.
@MMA Mama most of the so-called African athletes are from mixed background heritage such as Caribbean etc, they are hybrids and as desendents from slavery poor genetics where weeded out over the centuries creating a physical elite in sportsmanship.
I didn't go swimming there either because of overcrowding, even though it's a special place. You do a lot of hiking, much respect for that. Love your vlogs.
Was in Krka a week before you and the crowd was about half of what is apparent in your video. The tourists are really showing up now at the end of the season. Was told that this is the last year that the park authorities will allow swimming at Krka so glad I got to experience it before the ban. Thanks for your great videos!
Krka National Park is beautiful. I was there mid September last year and it was way quieter. Trogir is also worth a visit, but might be busy now. Happy travels!
If you want mountains national park visit Velebit Paklenica national park near Zadar city in northern Dalmatia or Risnjak national park in Istria near city of Rijeka...
There is also an amazing hiking trail in the northern Velebit nature park (Premuzic Trail). It goes for 50km but you can also do just parts of it for a full day hike. Nature and views are awesome and you will probably see more snakes than people. Being on an elevation of 1000+ meters it also wont be this hot.

Can't imagine how crowded it would be in non-covid times. May or September are always the best times to go to this part of Europe. The tourists are not there yet or gone and the weather is still great.
May is normally warmer. But great months to go post Corona are June and Sept, still warm but not the crowds of July and August when all of Europe is on holidays
Zadar was our first Croatia holiday. The sea organ is a great place to sit and eat lunch. Also out of all the places in Croatia I've been Zadar felt like it had the most little churches to pop my head into for a nosey. Love the videos ... I hope the next national park isn't too busy. It was horrendous when we went... But it was beautiful.
This looks like you’ve discovered some new world, completely different from anything you’ve seen so far. All around the wilderness and suddenly the lake and the mass of people enjoying
Loving your videos watched them all day yesterday n woke up to them again today. I watched the mountain trechs yesterday n how sad that mudslide...wow. I love the people and the cultures so awesome. Thank you.
The way to avoid crowds is to come to Skradin a night before, find cheap accommodation and then take a first boat to Krka Falls at 8:00 am. We did that last year and it was so nice and peaceful until 11:00 am. At 11 all the bus tours come from other cities and it becomes super crowded. The other option is to arrive after 5:00 pm when all these people are leaving and then stay overnight in Skradin. It will be the same at Plitvice Lakes. All the bus tours are there from 11am to 5pm. But the park is open from 7am -8pm
I was lucky enough to have swam at the falls in Krka & there was only one other person. It was only a few years ago on the second Saturday in September so still very nice weather but not crowded.
Wow so cool to see Awesome Traveling Vibes with no fear/protocols... Thanks Gabriel for taking us along these awesome tours... Literally Traveling thru your camera 📸
I went here a few days ago on Aug 8th from Split to see the falls, i took the boat also, the town was so nice i ended up staying two nights there and cycled to krka falls the following day. There is lockers just behind the burger bar to put your stuff in for 50 kuna. The town in the evening is so wuoet and peaceful. Accommodation was very cheap, sat with the locals and watched a small football game in the evening having a few beers. I stayed at the wine garden hotel £50 a night. @11:30 i jumped off that bridge also after cycling back
Are you planning on going to Plitvice National Park? Multiple waterfalls of varying sizes and the most amazingly coloured water. You can stay there in dated but comfortable accommodation which is a good idea because you need to be there early to beat the crowds (if there would be any now) but no swimming allowed. oops, just saw the end of the video. You're in for a treat but be early.
I have to say one more time how much you've improved your video production. Good job! If you happen to stop by in any of the towns or the capital of Lika-Senj county (Plitvice Lakes are part of Lika-Senj), I could show you around, this area is pure wilderness, 10% of Croatia's territory and less than 1% of population. Beautiful mountain Velebit and beaches with only a few people taking a swim.
@AmeriKa1050 I remember that there were lot off Germans in Montenegro ..even on kios there were Yugoslavian and German newspapers side by side ..i dont know about Slovenian coast becase i did go there then but there were probably lot off tourist there also
@superbura9 superbura9 That is not true..i have back then read Start magazine which was from Zagreb and i am from Serbia..you could bought in on every kiosk ..and lot off others but cant remember all their names
Awesome you got away from the crowds. It was like being at Disneyland. Aaargg. Good to see you traveling again. You help us stuck at home feel like we're escaping with you. Wish I was there but not in August!
You were walking exactly on the same streets through Skradin as I did 2 weeks ago. If you walk on the main road towards the bridge there's a hostel on the left hand side. I had a room for 12 EUR for a night and I was the only guest there so I had an entire room for myself. It's an excellent option to spend a night in if you're travelling from Germany, Czech Republic, Austria or Slovenia down to Dubrovnik or Montenegro.
Great turtle shot at the end. Yeah, good points about not jumping into the water where all the people were. From all your Croatia videos, we see a lot of crowded beaches, etc. When we were in Bosnia between Mostar and Dubrovnik, we went to a similar waterfall attraction and it was just as crowded. So was Dubrovnik. Zagreb, the capital city, was still vibrant but less crowded. You're pretty good at remembering Croatian place names with missing vowels and I laughed several times during this video - you mixed things up really well - you've got good material to work with there.
If you are looking for pure wilderness when you go past Zadar you got national parks that are not as frequented by tourists, e.g. Paklenica, Northern Velebit, Risnjak. etc... There is a lot of them around and on Velebit.
That feeling when you find out that Gabriel from other side of the world has visited more places in Croatia then me who live in Croatia... Lol
It’s always the way I’m from Scotland and there’s so so many place that tourists here go but I just haven’t been yet but I need to lol

Lovely park. A magical place, beautiful nature.
You can see how great the healthy food is in Croatia and most of the Balkans! That's why most of the women are like models, its all about the diet!
@MMA Mama yes, but the genetics are from 1000s of generations of good food and climate.
