    It's actually called Great Britain in the same way Greater Manchester is called Greater Manchester. "Great Britain" is the bit surrounding the bit which is actually Britain. Which is Coventry.

      it's to distinguish it from the Britain in France...
      the name came from France and they don't use 'Greater' but simply 'Gran' as in big, or in this case bigger.
      wtf does Coventry have to do with it?

    Nelson was captain of HMS Victory...

      Captains Murray and Sir Thomas Hardy were captains of HMS Victory when Nelson served aboard them. Nelson was a vice-admiral so he was in command of a fleet, but Murray and Hardy were in command of the ship.

    Always said decimal was inferior to imperial, as decimal equally does not stretch the mind when dealing with sums, whereas imperial does
