    Andrew’s play the whole set was insane. Well deserved after that game 1 comeback

  • @Kamishuriken

    That comeback in game 1 was absolutely insane! This guy was behind 4 prizes facing down a fully set up Gardevoir board with only a damaged Greninja, no cards in the lost zone and still won! Love when the finals comes down to a third game, so intense! Congratulations to Andrew, played out of his mind 🥇

    Considering Gardevoir was very favored going into naic I will say it was very smart of Andrew and other players to go with lost box as Gardevoir has always generally had a bad matchup against it. Since Gardevoir decks don't really play jirachi anymore that makes the matchup much more difficult as you are more prone to sableye lost mine plays.

    • @lordblaziken7724
      @lordblaziken7724 Місяць тому +11

      It's actually very tough for the lost box player if the gardevoir plays both the klefki and flutter mane - you can't bundle them, it's much easier to find one, and the flutter mane itself is an insane attacker against the deck.
      This is why I played both :)

      @@Lordrakeenov I was knocked out of contention round 8 by a lost box, ironically. He didn't want to gentleman's, as a tie got him closer to his invite than a loss would have, so we played out game 3, and although I probably would have won with a couple more turns, I conceded to my opponent to give him a stronger boost towards worlds, since I would have had to have made top 16 to go myself, lol. As it turned out, that was the last win he needed, and he teared up quite a bit. Very wholesome moment; we took a picture together that I'm sure we'll both treasure for years to come.
      But man oh man, I wish I'd developed the deck to the point that I did a mere two weeks later, as I'm certain that I would have been able to absolutely style on both of the LZB decks I played against ;)

      The judges can intervene when it is deemed necessary OR if the opponent calls for a RV. Given the nature and stakes at this level of competition, it is fairly common to give the opponent a minute or so during the first search of the game to assess prize cards before moving forward.
      You are allowed 15-30 seconds for a search and decision, so instead of maxing a search duration everytime it is much better for game tempo in the long run for both players to take their notes at the start, due to the prize searching not being necessary post T1.
      It sounds like you play primarily online, if that isn't the case I am unsure how you are not aware of this. If you do intend to play in person more, you should become more aware of typical processes so that you don't ruffle feathers for no reason.

    As a rookie, I want to ask why the final game Moonlight Shariken get 4 prize cards and end the game?

    • @Kamishuriken
      @Kamishuriken 28 днів тому +2

      It didn’t take 4 prizes, time was already called ( 0 minutes left). When that happens whoever is currently playing is turn 0 (here Stephane). From then there are only 3 more turns and whoever is in the lead on prizes by the end of the last turn is the winner. So Andrew was turn 1, then Stephane had turn 2 and then Andrew had the last turn, turn 3 where he took 1 prize by knocking out the Klefki with Greninja which put him down to 3 prizes to 4 and won the game

    • @weekendwarrior1864

      @@Kamishurikenyou missed a part. In the end andrew with moonlight suriken points to 2 pokemon on the bench.
      So what happened is that prime catcher brought klefki as active which shuts down ALL basic pokemon abilities so manaphy was not protecting anymore. That's how he got 2 prizes and he won 2 to 4 prizes.
      Ofc killing just klefki would suffice LOL
