Jesus aaron and Wolfe. Legendary duo for commentating. Their excitement and passion for the game as well as their knowledge is so infectious. Loved every minute of it
Can't lie I was routing for Zheng.. But man oh man is Rajan a competitor! Rajans put in so much work over the years you can't deny he deserves it! Great performance from both.
29:44 I just noticed while watching this that there was no text that said Whimsicott hung on with its focus sash, so it was somehow able to naturally survive the Tera starstorm. Just a neat detail :0
I did, my brother told me, that it would be more interesting than MSI going on right now. (League of legends esports) He was not wrong, wolfey and Aaron make an amazing caster couple. You can notice that a lot of the choices from Pokémon players make a lot of sense. Moba game pros often have no idea how to evaluate what is good and what isn’t. By that I mean character, items and runes, but also nieche strategies. With a lot of other genres, people know things down to frames, team comp types counter others, actual math of how things deal interact with each other. I run math on league on a regular and I am very often in disbelief and quite honestly, sadness, when I see that pros don’t even know the basic math of itembuilds. To give an example of what I mean, there is 2 items, with basically the exact same type of stats they give, one is made for killing tanky targets, the other was designed to kill squishier targets. Turns out if you run the math the tank killing item, deal about the same damage to squishies as the squishy killing item, while dealing about 30% more to tanks, for basically the cost of nothing, but you knowing and choosing the right item. Yet pros in the game, kept playing the item, that dealt less damage to tanks, despite it even starting to deal less to squishies in the later stages of the game. I think that example is one of the biggest in the Szene, but there is a lot more subtle once. Anyways to stop my ramble, it’s really refreshing to have both casters and players, actually knowing what they are doing and not just blindly copying the masses, without knowing the why, of why you would do things.
@@Espeo still one of the best players in the world rn, as well as the best pokemon vgc youtuber. sounds like u just don't have the world champ difference.
Battle - A+ Commentary - A+ Plus TPC, the chemistry these two dudes have is Undeniable. Aaron and Wolfe are fantastic commentators together. They bounce off each other well and are both exceptionally knowledgeable.
I'm a big fan of Wolfe and Aaron, and their energy together was awesome. On the other hand, when casting in duo format imo you gotta balance the passion with that little bit of extra space and give some openings so that the casters can settle into a more comfortable pace too. In any case great game and a hype cast! Gotta love where the comp scene is at as a fan.
"There is nothing as not effective infront of miraidon" "Amoonguss might need 2 trips to the pokemon centre before the next battle" Wolfie and aron cooked the commentary
Liberal usage of electric moves, especially the move "Discharge" made me laugh a lot, as I am reminded of the Thunderbolt (Lightning gun) from the first Quake game released by Id Software in the late 1990s - specifically, using the weapon in PvP and the notification messages that pop up as a result. Every time Miraidon enters the battlefield: "Miraidon discharged into the battlefield, electrifying it" Round 1: Miraidon Electric Terrain boosted Volt Switch knocks out Terapagos: "Miraidon rode Terapagos out of the battlefield. Terapagos was finished before Miraidon could get started." - Miraidon, proving that simply getting in and out of the battlefield can be lethal. Round 2: Miraidon Electric Terrain boosted Electro Drift knocks out Amoongus: "Amoongus was slammed by Miraidon's Electro Drift. Amoongus expired before Miraidon." - Medicinal Mushrooms are impotent against extreme electro shock therapy. Round 2: Miraidon Electric Terrain boosted Electro Drift hits Flutter Mane using Protect "Miraidon's Electro Drift attempts to slam Flutter Mane. Flutter Mane remembered to wear Protection." - Protect is invaluable in VGC Remember to wear Protection at the right time, and follow the Safe Usage directions! Round 2: Miraidon's trainer forfeits due to insufficient resources: "Miraidon throws in the towel and needs a cold shower upon seeing a healthy Terapagos" - Miraidon cannot have the last laugh and will finish first if it has no one to swap with. Round 3 Turn 1: Miraidon Electric Terrain boosted Volt Switch knocks out Terapagos: "Tornadus accepts Miraidon's STAB Volt Switch shafting. Tornadus cannot exist in such conditions" - Miraidon, AGAIN proving that simply getting in and out of the battlefield can be lethal. Doubly so due to the 2x Weakness. Round 3 Turn 2: Miraidon Electric Terrain boosted Discharge knocks out Flutter Mane and Amoongus: " Miraidon Discharges extremely hard into the battlefield. Flutter Mane and Amoongus had a share of Miraidon's Discharge. Whimsicott remembers to wear Protection" - Miraidon's Electric Terrain boosted Discharge is a Weapon of Indiscriminate Mass Destruction. Only ground types and those wearing Protection properly will survive. Round 3 Turn 3: Miraidon Electric Terrain boosted Discharge knocks out Terapagos: " Miraidon Discharges extremely hard into the battlefield. Terapagos accepts Discharge. Whimsicott existing Protection somehow continues to work" - As above. Miraidon's stacked boosted Discharge is still an indiscriminate WMD. Extra: Whimsicott broke the safety guidelines on wearing the same Protection for consecutive strenuous activity without taking the time to change out (Successful back to back Protect). and somehow survives the Orgy of electrical destruction by the skin of its teeth, being the only partner to dance with Miraidon without expiring from exhaustion.
Yes its a misplay. Because when a spread move hits multiple target, the damage is reduced to 75%*base power. Wolfey and Aaron wants the whimsicott to go down so the Terrapagos gets 100% of the damage of the discharge. But the Other play Rajan is playing, is for double protect then Moonblast after Miraidon goes down which is viable as well but not needed since he is able to KO using a reduced Discharge.
@@erwindavid2859 yea technically a misplay but whimsicott being on the field didnt reduce the damage that much at all, it was still gonna kill terapagos
Ground types aren't bad, But Rillaboom, Calyrex Ice and Kyorge are legit deterrents. Sure you can bring teammates to deal with them, but if you are running a counter for one restricted, it's a counter that you aren't running for another.

terapagos isn't underwhelming tbh
and miraidon isn't expected to be one of the best that's why no one bring a pokemon that counter it except rillaboom
