Entertaining. No autotune. Lyrical talent. Minimal profanity. I can go on and on about how this is a classic. Kids today would compare this type of hiphop to black & white films of the 1930s-1950s.
This man was the whole inspiration behind me trying to learn how to beatbox when I was a freshman in high school-- somehow that was two decades ago. Then I spent literal hours learning the beatbox style from "Too Good To Be True", Lauryn Hill's incredible cover. Those were inspiring times, and yet I felt scared to show anyone my newfound skill. Honestly, it was a dilemma for me. "But I'm a white girl," I would think to myself, caught in the confusion of a world obsessed with color. I couldn't understand why music made by black people intrigued & fulfilled me in a way the classic rock from my youth never could. I'm older now. I've learned enough to know that I still barely understand myself, let alone the struggles faced by the indigenous, the displaced, and especially people of color. It's a journey, not a single lesson-- a truth too complicated to appreciate in one lifetime, I suppose. I'll tell you the only thing I know for sure: I love this music. I don't think my skin color should matter when it comes to loving the way something sounds. Hopefully, one day, I'll rap for an audience-- I'll be scared, but maybe, just maybe, it will be worth the fear. Thanks for reading 💜
colour really dose not matter and dont let the modern left convince you other wise.. neither do you have to understand the struggles of another culture to do hip-hop you just need to understand hip-hop culture and the local hip-hop culture your involving your self in eg in the uk we have a very different hip-hop culture where race is not a significant factor even in modern uk drill altough due to the gang connections thats a very different scene to what us ol heads would call uk hip-hop i dont want to get political but its very obvious that some in the neo-left hate the lack of divide in hip-hop and would love to accuse white rappers of cultural appropriation... but hip-hop has always been about your skills.. every thing else just added depth

I can only hum and beatbox
Because Mortal Kombat fell off at that time...Tekken 3 is one of the greatest games of all time and was in EVERY arcade.
@SurgeCess Why does the editor show Tekken when he clearly says mortal kombat??
@SurgeCess Perhaps it has to do with copyright issues at the time.
Whre is the sample from??
I'm surprised no one else has commented on here.
@dmizzle79 what is the biz markie song ?
