I think ZA is going to be huge. I heard on a rumor that the game is almost done and that they are working on the side quest. I think this game will be like a GTA model type city like full scale and maybe even an underground were Zygarde dwells.
Hopeful thinking but you are not completely unrealistic. For multiple reasons. 1. They have lots of experience with open world now. Lots of the groundwork done. 2. They have done almost all the Pokémon models and the S/V are well made (properly shaped eyes etc) and would likely look better on upscale hardware too, so why spend time remaking new ones? 3. They have 6 months - 1 year extra time and look at what they product in short amounts of time. SV and Legends within A YEAR. If Gen 10 is delayed to 2026 that’s like putting double time into a project then they normally do. So I think you’re not far out.. and I’ll voice my opinion hopefully here in a safe pocket on the internet where my opinion won’t be shot down.

I'm normally a patient person nowadays, and life has just been passing me by these past few years, but going *THIS* long without any news is driving me mad. PL:A is my favourite modern Pokémon game, so you could imagine how hyped I was when Z-A was announced, since it is set in Kalos, a region that is both one of my favourite regions and really deserved so much better since it was rushed out, and the recent leaks just show that it was originally destined for so much more. Might be a stretch, but I feel maybe the Direct we usually get in August got cancelled as they got breached by hackers that month, resulting in the leaks we got a couple months back. But like, the leakers barely leaked anything regarding upcoming games as they did have some sense of morality...despite leaking employee info.
Arceus is also my favourite game! So I was also so excited when this was announced. I hate the wait I just hope we get something soon! Thankyou for taking the time to comment
Well, I think the reason why Z-A was announced a year in advance is that they may be worried that the Pokémon Presents was released earlier this year will not have any news on the main game and only mobile game news will cause some backlash, so they announced Z-A in advance. Since Z-A is likely to be released at the end of next year, it will just follow the normal announcement cycle and announce the latest news on Pokemon Day 2025. So I don't think they were intentionally delaying it, and even if they were, their main purpose was most likely just to have the gen 10 games release accurately on the thirtieth anniversary.
Loved the video! As someone who's been speculating about this myself it's always great to see different perspectives on the matter. Hopefully on Pokemon Day they let us know when in 2025 the game is gonna release, even if they just tell us it's gonna be in quarter 4 or fall or something like that.

Heck, Bushiroad isn’t great at marketing but we’ve been getting info on the new cardfight vanguard dear days game with that having a similar release date.
Yeah I could not agree more, I still cannot believe how Scarlet and Violet was so successful, although I cannot say anything as I bought it and still enjoyed the game with how un finished it was, we as fans are not helping ourselves! also agree that could be the thing with not marketing the game but just seems so odd as we heard so much more from other games before they was released, although the speculation still encourages attraction to the game.

According to the tera leak, Z-A is being developed for the first Switch, not the 2nd one. It might be compatible for the Switch 2 in the future or something but it's being made for the first Switch. A lot of people are confusing this but that's what the leaker said. The other things you said could be true. I think they may be working on this game a lot and probably don't want to reveal stuff yet. Let them cook lol. Khu apparently said we should be getting news before the end of the year but I wouldn't trust that guy too much... I hope we do but idk. We got the rest of this month left so we'll see. Asking for a non-linear branching story in pokemon is a huge ask... imagine pokemon making not just one simple story but hundreds of story routes. They aren't Baldurs Gate or even Neverwinter or Elderscrolls... having that much meaningful dialog written for a pokemon game would be like getting 10 mainline games in one. All that said, having a lot of meaningful mini-arcs in order to fill out pokedex entries could give that sort of vibe and would very much fit in the sort of game Pokemon:LA was, it's just a very tall order to ask of Gamefreak
It is interesting though as the games you have mentioned have a smaller team than gamefreak and Nintendo, and are a lot smaller financially, so asking for a more dynamic story line seems realistic. However they know a lot of Pokémon fans do not need the change, hence why they stick to one story line that some could see as boring and repetitive.
I would like a Pokémon game where your choices do matter and you can get different endings but I'm not sure how that would work for a main series game. The thing is, this is a monster catching game, so you're collecting lots of different Pokémon and maybe even getting shinies. Would you really want to lose all of that just to get a different ending? I don't think so. Maybe for a spinoff game it could work but not for a main series game. It'd be cool to get something like Undertale or FNAF
@ uh… BG3 had years of dev time gamefreak doesn’t give out and has a team specialized in writing branching dialogue trees. Also they had 400 people in their dev team while game freak has around 200
@ yeah, that’s why I mentioned expanding the pokedex completion sidequests from what Legends Arceus did; rather than alternate endings having sidequests connected to your Pokemon feels more in-line with a pokemon game
@sh4d0wfl4re I love the side quests tbh. I'm bummed that SV didn't really have any side quests, it should've had them. I'm sure Z-A will have them and I hope that maybe gen 10 will as well
I dont think ZA is coming out with the new console. It's effectively a remake of gen 6, which did poorly when it released on the 3ds as a flagship. Game freak is also unlikely to want a remake to be the first pokemon game on a new system, as besides gen 8 (with LGPE, the first re-rerelease) the first release on any new system has always been a new region. I'm willing to bet the delays are about quashing SV bugs and performance issues to prep the code base for gen 10 and mitigate losses caused by the wake of bad press aroung SV.

Legends Z-A is confirmed for the Switch and not the Switch 2. And keep in mind that Pokemon doesn't move on to the next console right away. I think the first Switch 2 pokemon games will be Gen 10 games.
the reason is because they have no reason to promote a 2024 game in 2025. And I think they would save a big trailer for Pokemon Presents in February on Pokemon Day. Also there has been no update because they clearly not ready to reveal it. And they usually start promoting the game as we are closer to the release date. So June or August is the start of the promotional cycle. Switch 2 has nothing to do with ZA as ZA is a Switch game and not a Switch 2 game.
There has been no announcements from Nintendo across all their games, so there is a trend. The Z-A announcement only ever said "Nintendo Systems" nothing about Nintendo switch specifically, so will be interesting to see what it is released on.
