You should do an album revue. This album, Dark side of the moon is my absolute favorite album. It would be a great starting point. The wall is another great one.
The low rumbling sound which gives way to clicking clocks is the fading transition from the previous track 'On the Run'. This is why you should listen to the entire album in one go, it all flows together. Go on, treat your ears...you actually heard two songs there, Time & Breathe Reprise, almost seamless transition.

Pink Floyd was one of the premiere bands in the sub-genre, "psychedelic rock." The idea behind that style of rock-n-roll is to evoke the same sort of emotional experience received when tripping on hallucinogenic drugs -- especially "magic mushrooms" that contain psilocybin, or acid trips (LSD). The band (especially Roger Waters) was also strongly affected by the mental illness of one of the band's founding members, Syd Barrett, a good friend of Waters, especially. Explorations of mental illness crop up periodically in their music, and is the primary theme in the album, "The Wall."
...you notice the guitarist doesn't lift his finger from the fretboard, from the beginning to the end of the solo. Felt to me like I was floating through the endless, vastness through time, of that solo!!.
If you do a full album reaction, "Dark Side of the Moon" or "The Wall" make the most sense, as they are both concept albums with each song flowing into one another. My advise: Do an album review of DSOTM or a movie review of The Wall (movie is the same songs as the album, just like one long music video.)
Yes please do an album review, such as the one this track came from. Pink Floyd were album producers as opposed to writing hit singles. It will make so much sense to you to listen to in order! This album was the only one to remain on the top 200 billboard charts for 900 weeks, a record for a record! Not hard to see why with a track like Time that transcends generations.
Yes, you should listen to an album. In the 70's and 80's, that was a very common event, like everyday. No phones, no computers, didn't get cable until about 1980. Dark Side of the Moon and the double album, The Wall, are both excellent albums to listen to in one setting. You could read a brief on The Wall, if you want to follow more of the story. The word gets used a lot, but The Wall, both the movie and double album, are epic productions.
Indeed you were missed informed about this song being on the same album as Comfortably Numb. This song is off their Dark Side of the Moon Album released in 73 and Comfortably Numb is from The Wall Album released in 79. Dark Side of the Moon is also a concept album. The first side represents life to death and the second side is about the stressors of life.
You guys are nailing the whole Floyd gig (on several levels). For example, Alan Parsons (who has some great stuff with HIS band, The Alan Parsons Project) worked with both The Beatles and Pink Floyd as a recording engineer, so there are some similar sounds. Great ears! Love your reactions! Happy New Year! (and watched out for those sneaky videos.....with lyrics. ;)
It's from the classic album The Dark Side of the Moon, well before the Wall and Comfortably Numb you responded in last time. I would recommend Shine On Crazy Diamond and Wish You Were Year. You may have been misunderstood what you said in the video, but it is the class 70s Pink Floyd album that stays in Billboard hits for a whole 14 years.
Some of the song could also be about the touring cycle of being on the road in a band and time passes by without realizing it cuz your away all the time
A teacher once told me: (A text out of context is just a pretext). A song from this album without the others may also loose it's real meaning. This is the reason that many people suggest that you listen to this album in full and in order. Maybe split in half; side A followed by side B, just like the original recording., vinyl LP. PS, Could it be that you are native French, am I right? And if so, congratulations on your bilingualism. Et si oui, bravo pour votre bilinguisme.
I'm not so sure you ladies have the patience to listen to an entire PF album. If you think this intro was long, you haven't been listening to them. If you decide to do more Floyd, get yourself a cocktail or cup of coffee, kick back and just roll with it. Greatest storytellers in rock history, but their compositions are often long and versatile, but brilliant. Good luck.
Floyd on many songs have lengthy lead ins. This kind of sets the mood for what is eventually coming. They also put lengthy instrumentals between lyrics to allow the listener to absorb them before the next round of lyrics.
This album! Dark Side Of The Moon follows The Wizard of Oz. They’ve made it easy and combined it for us these days under the title Dark Side of The Rainbow. Enjoy!
This song is like a single movement from a larger symphony (the album, Dark Side of the Moon). It's one of probably two songs that stand well on their own from this album, but it's still much better when listened to in context. It shares motifs with earlier and later tracks, and each song segues smoothly into the next. Even if you don't do a video reaction, you should definitely do yourselves the favor of listening to the whole thing in a single uninterrupted sitting.
The first time i started to listen to Pink Floyd, my cousin told me something. "Shut your mouth from start to end, and just listen. You can talk after the song is over". I wish someone told you the same. Else you can't really appreciate Pink Floyd.
There are some albums that you need to listen to all in one go. You could film yourself reacting to the whole album and edit it down to individual tracks to upload it. That way you get the benefit of how all the tracks fit together. With Pink Floyd these albums are "The Dark Side Of The Moon", "Wish You Were Here", "Animals", "Atom Heart Mother" and "The Wall". Three other great albums to listen to all in one go are The Moody Blues "Days Of Future Passed", Jeff Wayne "The War Of The Worlds" and Camel "The Snow Goose"
Definitely do album reviews! I'd totally watch them! You have to do a whole Metallica album like "Master of Puppets" or "Ride the Lightning"... they're slightly shorter than the others... and better lol
Guys you totally should check Talking Heads out. Life during wartime live stop making sense is AMAZING. they were one of the most Influential bands of the 80s
You should ABSOLUTELY listen to every Pink Floyd album from start to finish. Dark Side of the Moon should be listened to in 5.1 Surround sound as well as their Animals album. Both re-released in quadraphonic quad and sound is so much clearer. Enjoy!!
I don't think of the lyrics as being sad. It's more that it's a reminder of how time marches relentlessly forward. What we do, or don't do, does not stop that flow of time. And sometimes as we live our lives we allow ourselves to be distracted, which is why when we realize one day "Wow, that was ten years ago?" we are surprised that so much time passed.
Interesting that you compared Pink Floyd to the Beatles. Pink Floyd were recording their first album at Abbey Road at the same time that the Beatles were recording their Sgt. Pepper album there.
@@subway5907 that's not true, Floyd on many occasions credited the Beatles for inspiration. But what I was referring to was Piper at the gates of dawn and Sgt. Peppers were both mind altering chemical albums that I would bet one had some influence on the other and seeing they were recorded at the same time and place the bands surely communicated.
PLEASE do the full album reaction for Pink Floyd. The album this song came from, Dark Side of the Moon, would be awesome. Other good candidates from the Floyd would be Wish You Were Here or Animals. You can trust me since the "floyd" in my name is specifically for them. Keep up the great work too. I love y'all's videos.
But do The Wall Album. Try doing the movie version. But just watch it yourselves. Only have it to where we can hear it or it may be blocked. The regular album is great too. But you'll enjoy the movie. It gets psychedelic. And it's a story.
It's awesome watchng the younger generation get into and enjoy music that came out (chances are good) before their parents were even born. If you wanna hear another good song by Pink Floyd, do a reaction to "High Hopes" from Division Bell.. amazing song. One of their best... :D
Well, every Pink Floyd Album is a concept album meant to be listened to from start to finish, but this one "Dark Side Of The Moon" is also known as one of the greatest albums of all time. So, it would make a hell lot of sense to do am album review of this. Greets from Germany!
The full album reaction is a great idea, especially with a band like Pink Floyd, which is more about the albums than the single songs. The Dark Side of the Moon would be the perfect album to do that: trust me when I say it will be a life-changing experience! And if you want to do more, some other great Pink Floyd albums that would make for cool reaction videos are Animals, The Wall, and Wish You Were Here ^^

(and watched out for those sneaky videos.....with lyrics. ;)
The song is saying try to live life; so you don't have to be sad, or as sad.
Yes! Review the album Animals! Well, all of them, really...
For them, they will have more fun with Animals, than The Wall. Plus it is the shortest album.
Some of the song could also be about the touring cycle of being on the road in a band and time passes by without realizing it cuz your away all the time
No it's obviously about aging in general.
I grew up with this you guys are so smart
Pink Floyd,They’re ahead of their times..Psychedelic music at its best during their era
"let me be sad" JAJAJAJAJA FROM MEXICO CITY
A teacher once told me: (A text out of context is just a pretext).
A song from this album without the others may also loose it's real meaning.
This is the reason that many people suggest that you listen to this album in full and in order.
Maybe split in half; side A followed by side B, just like the original recording., vinyl LP.
PS, Could it be that you are native French, am I right?
And if so, congratulations on your bilingualism.
Et si oui, bravo pour votre bilinguisme.
The best album in rock history. You must listen to it from the beginning to the end in a single session.
The ending is a reprise of the first song in the album bc all the songs in this album flow into each other seamlessly
Enjoy!
"Wish you where here" Album probably the best Floyd album
Hi Sisters, Happy to see people that haven't heard some Rock songs.
You two are so goofy! love it. Will see more Subed, Play The Wall by them in it's entirety.
You absolutely have to do The Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety!
Much love from the far north of Aotearoa ‘( New Zealand).
There are two different singers - first David Gilmour, then Richard Wright
Great Gig in Sky should always be after this one
truth hits hard when its rare in present times
Comfortably Numb is on another album The Wall on which Time is on Dark Side of the Moon. Both concept albums.
You have to react to pink floyd pigs on the wing and 3 different one, sheep, and dogs.
Pigs on the Wing should not be on that album.
I would make sure they do them in order especially Dogs before Sheep.
Pink Floyd requires patient listening.
Ooo if you do a full album I would suggest "Animals"
The Darkside of the moon to me is just what perfection looks like. If you listen the songs in sequence you´ll see that is all conected
Pink Floyd does not block .
Jeff Spiccoli's go-to album. Ironic that such young men wrote and first performed this album about getting older.
And you see time is timeless when it comes to music, you had the emotions I had in the 70s.vayo con dios
Interesting that you compared Pink Floyd to the Beatles. Pink Floyd were recording their first album at Abbey Road at the same time that the Beatles were recording their Sgt. Pepper album there.
Hmmm, who influenced who.
@@kurtsaxton9665 no one
@@subway5907 that's not true, Floyd on many occasions credited the Beatles for inspiration. But what I was referring to was Piper at the gates of dawn and Sgt. Peppers were both mind altering chemical albums that I would bet one had some influence on the other and seeing they were recorded at the same time and place the bands surely communicated.
Full album reaction should be either Wish You Were Here or Animals
PLEASE do the full album reaction for Pink Floyd. The album this song came from, Dark Side of the Moon, would be awesome. Other good candidates from the Floyd would be Wish You Were Here or Animals. You can trust me since the "floyd" in my name is specifically for them. Keep up the great work too. I love y'all's videos.
The body is all that will die..you the driver of the body never dies
"Pulse 1995" for a live concert, one of the best.
The older you get the quicker time passes ! And time is the grim reaper
Wrong, the grim reaper is death.
You don’t listen to The Beatles but you get a Beatles vibe? Interesting and professional analysis. *enter sarcasm *
The full album reaction is a great idea, especially with a band like Pink Floyd, which is more about the albums than the single songs. The Dark Side of the Moon would be the perfect album to do that: trust me when I say it will be a life-changing experience! And if you want to do more, some other great Pink Floyd albums that would make for cool reaction videos are Animals, The Wall, and Wish You Were Here ^^
No pausing the Pink Floyd songs, ever.
Sad? Perhaps. But there is a message there. Live your life now and make the most of the TIME you have!
If you are thinking of reacting to a whole Pink Floyd album, this is the one!
