I've noticed that when I put my micro SD card into the bigger card thingy that it came with and then put it into my sd card reader, the transfer speed is way faster, like double the speed. Not sure what's going on here.
I'm using a SanDisk Extreme SDXC US1 10 v30 90mbps which I bought years ago and records 4K @50fps 200mbps video from the Panasonic S1 with no problems. Dont be fooled by all the marketing and 'goes up to 11' hype
I just want to know how to download videos from my camera without the cord using a sd card reader. The Onn one i have does not download videos, only photos. So what do i need to look for to download videos?
If you have a device that can read the photos then that device should also support videos. I don’t know any sd-card reader that only supports one. However, maybe the program you’re using to import the files only supports one. I’d check the file explorer and see if the files are there and then you should get to your files as well.
My SanDisk Extreme Pro imports footage to my PC at 20mbps and I cannot figure out why or if it's even normal. All I know is, it takes like 1 minute per GB of footage and it's annoying.

I used 2 different card readers (no brand) and a Zoom Q2n Camera (SD card is inserted to the camera connected to the PC via USB). These yield the following results respectively: 20 mbps, 20 mbps, 5 mbps respectively (average read and write).
It's both. The card reader can have limitations but the card as well. Both have their standards and speeds. For example: if you have a UHS-II card (e.g. a fast card) but you use a UHS-I card reader, you'll not get the best performance.

What kind of card reader are you using? That may be the bottle neck.

Maybe the uhs ii reader is slower with non uhs ii cards due to it having extra contacts inside that are not engaging with older cards

I just want a card reader with a single SD slot (pref US2) as I never use any of the other card slots which just waste drive letters on my PC

What would you use for a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra phone.
Samsung does not offer SD Card Storage now.
So I was looking for a External SD card Reader
I don't have any recommendation of the top of my head since I am on iOS and don't even have experience with expandable microSD card storage 🙈. Sorry.

Haven tested it with phones. But it works with iPads that have USB-C - so I am assuming it would work with a phone as well.

It shows MB/s on the chart at 5:38. So that's probably what is shown.
