I haven’t had a sbs, just from looking at it, the freezer shelving is more user friendly. Yet the fridge section requires more strategic usage to make the space work better. Instead of big round bowl, store things in tall rectangular container.
No way!! Dont listen to this guy.At no time did he mention that freezer SUCKS!!!!! It is literally like the junk drawer that everyone has in their house. It won't open, it won't close. Boxes, bags, burritos end up falling down behind the drawer and guess what, you can't get to them to get them out. If its a box you have to get it out, and guess what, your arm will not fit back in there to get it out, if its a burrito you just leave it in there counting down the day until this POS breaks and you can go buy a new side by side. I have owned all three kinds of refrigerators and by far I freaking hate the French door ones. Who knows what's in the bottom of that drawer its been buried for so long its freezer burnt. My favorite is the frozen pizza box that has ridden up and made it where the door/drawer won't even open. Side by side definitely more user friendly.
Melinda, we are sorry you feel that way about French Door Refrigerators. Every person has their own opinion and although you don't like them, another customer might. Thank you.
I've also had stuff fall back there and overall haven't had much fun getting down there and using the freezer. I think the organization and ergonomics of the side by side is better. Plus, the ice maker on the better models is in the door on the freezer side, the best place for it. I think if you use the freezer a lot, you're not going to enjoy piling up your food and digging through it later.
I feel like a french door fridge with internal ice maker is the way to go. That being said, I have an LG counter depth max with an indoor ice maker so I broke all the rules lol
Side by side is the boig one for me i dont have to bend down low as i am getting back painup high and when there is power cut sxs freezer remains in tact
it's not bending over that's a problem for a french door fridge - it's trying to find things that ultimately get buried there. every single one of these side by side vs french door comparison videos are exactly the same - basically the sales guy trying to get rid of their french door inventory. don't take my word for it - comb the comments of these videos - most are from users that have had experience with these fridges, and they all echo the same sentiment - chest freezers are not convenient. the only thing going for a french door fridge is that it's aesthetically better since it's symmetrical, but don't let that be the determining buying factor
It definitely is up to preference! Some prefer the french-door since it has more space. This typically works better with bigger families, or for those that need to store bigger items. Although the side-by-side is definitely more convenient since you don't have to bend down or dig through a pile of things. Pros/cons will depend on the person and their needs.
Ware houses needs at least25 fridgesin them now there is a big shortages of fridges in ontario canada now why 6 weeks waiting time when you order its too long
I ordered my whirlpool French door fridge in black stainless back in September and the estimate to receive it is literally September 😭 how is that possible!
French doors are terrible, don’t know why people buy them. Breaks your back. Pretty much gave away a French door to go buy a side by side when we bought are house.
Currently shopping for a fridge and this video was very helpful for me. Thank you!
