- WD40 as fuel in a mini bike how will it run?
Tested the 179cc snow blower powered Coleman cc100x mini bike with 87 octane gas and then did the same test with WD40 to compare the difference.

Don't take advice from a mini bike mechanic that's used gardening tools to work on bikes 😂😂😂
Lol
Good advice! LOL
@@Black66 I just got a tool kit for Christmas so I can work on my bike
Mini bike expert knows best regardless of which yard tools he uses 😂😂😂
bahahhahah
Man you get the 179 going faster than some 212s 😂💪🏻. Good show man. Much appreciated
Thanks for watching!
I honestly didn’t think it was going to run 😂😂
Try varying the amount of WD40 to gas ratios. 20% gas up to 50%. Maybe there's a magic formula somewhere in there ?
higher octane, the high RPM loves it... need to set the idle higher, or mix it with gas... would be interesting to see coleman fuel tested
I've always put 4 star in my 2 strokes, higher octane 😂
please do a mix 50/50 of 91 with wd40 and rerun the same test you did in this episode with just wd40 with a bottle of octane booster - loved this video btw
and if you dont run the test i might just have to do it myself with my db30 212 combo closest bike i got atm
@@destinationunknown3947where the video and if I mix 93 with WD 40, will I be ok with my 196cc?
It would perform a lot better if the carb was tuned to the new fuel, however, top speed wouldn't improve much regardless because the bike would still have the same max RPM and gear ratio. It might give enough power that you could change the rear sprocket and get around the same low-end power from the gas and a faster top speed.
Black 66, That mini bike expert…lol 😄. Im in the process of putting a duromax 274 in my cc100x, should be a BEAST!
All that upper end lubrication. Next try octane boost.
Lead style!
If you get by the smoke, less power and just fouling up everything, it's $28/gallon when fuel is $4/gallon average.
Wow I never thought that would work. Kinda sick😂. I’ll have a go kart video out pretty soon
I'll have to check it out.
@@Black66 for sure dude ! I get the cart tomorrow. And I’m gonna put it all together in a vid
Maybe re jetting the carb and play around with the idle mixture
First🎉 btw, can i use the same push rod length as the mod2 cam has for the 256 cam?
@user-ru7he6qj2w with both cam's?
I'd like to see a video comparing some common gear ratio changes on the same bike. Like a billet rod, flywheel 265 cam and 26lb spring engine and try stock 12/75 gearing and do 0-30 and top speed tests down to the 53t split rear sprocket to show the difference and maybe help some folks find the sweet spot for their combo. Great Channel I love it! ❤
Yeah, I'll have to do a direct comparison video. Have you seen the 70 MPH video? The bike had a top speed of around 58MPH before the gear swap. ua-cam.com/video/8wVMdDTutPQ/v-deo.html
WD is more viscous then gasoline and it requires higher vacuum to pull it thru the jets. Try using a larger jetting size for your pilot jet to get it to idle and use a larger main jet to richen up the mixure for those higher RPMs.
Most of this guys stuff is pushing purchases you dont need. All i did to a cc100x was swap for the predator 212, straight pipe and a 13tooth max torque 3/4 clutch with a 40t rear sprocket and ive been doing 55mph all year. Nothing done at all with inner parts or governor.
Who woulda thunk!
I like your sense of humor must have so much power that’s why it don’t wanna run I actually laughed
I’d be curious if you fouled the plug? Also maybe with a little adjustment on the pilot jet maybe it would run even better.
I freaking love the NPC style intro.
A mate of mine used to put acitone in his tank with regular pump fuel in his r6 and reackoned it was the bomb .
I want to build a bike that has multiple carbs, each one uses a different fuel, but is only ever active if the others are deactivated.
It starts on propane to warm up, then moves to gasoline as the engine warms, then as it gets hotter from riding it adds vaporized diesel fume to the air mix.
I believe that while under load the motor will bog a lot less than with gasoline, and have more power to climb with, as diesel is more calorically dense than gasoline, which is more dense than propane..
But propane starts really easy, and gasoline is a more optimal fuel for higher rpm.
Honestly the system would need computerization and fuel mapping, injectors, etc...
But it would be a fun project, especially for fuel experiments.
Carbon build up increasing compression? 30+ years ago, a shady dude told me that WD-40 increased flathead kart performance, but the track tech would sniff the dipstick and could smell it. Never could figure it out, but maybe he was on to something. How about trying some 2 stroke gas?
Oh yeah so true! I bet it did have a bump in compression as much as it was smoking , big time carbon build up.
Love the video hope you are another hopefully turbo on the next video
Please try a mixture of 35% acetone(the 100% kind) and 65% WD-40.
Try the nr racing 230 cam
i worked on a lot of diesels and I used wd-40 instead of starting fluid. It worked great and you didn't get that knock, it also lubed the cylinder. I just didn't like starting fluid. Hair spray worked better then starting fluid on small engines to.
Gas is cheaper.
But, i do run wf40 ; when i am aroind other mini bikes. Trick is use a sparkplug for a 2cyle : when running wd
I would be curious to know what the plug looks like after the WD40.
What if you changed the timing or the idle or plug or jet in carb
I think the oil may have increased low end torque but takes away top power just like a diesel does
Now to try a drunken mini bike with liquor 😂😂😂
Good idea!
I've heard that putting mothballs in the tank helps power..
My 100xcc got a 212cc engine, it goes from zero to 30 in 3.7 seconds but i just mastered the chain problem
When you use WD-40 for racing fuel. you will still need A gasoline fuel mixed half and half with. Make it for your engine performance output to put out more power. cause it is another type of pure fuel. So you'll need at least reck 90 octane gasoline fuel.,or A higher grade in with it to. Cause the ethanol fuel in the fuel. If you removed it out.,an then replaced it. with some octane booster added back in to the gasoline fuel along with your WD-40 then try it out again. And you'll see the difference it makes. Remember to shake it up really we'll before using it to mix it in good first.
So mix 93 & WD 40 half and half? It won’t mess up my 196cc right?
Maybe different design plug as well!
Hey what would be the chance i could email you to ask a few questions about my ct100u drag bike build?
I dont know if the mini bike expert is all that smart I have my doubts about him
Maybe a hotter plug and set up the carb for wd40? But I am no expert
Different alcohol amount so I guess it made the compression ratio different causing it to run bad not the right ratio
I would be interested to see if it would run on Kerosene
Timing advance?
Up the idle jetting if it idles at half choke. Not enough jet for all that power! lol. a 75/25 mix would be interesting. WD-40 ingredients should have a MUCH lower octane than 87. Napata has as super low octane rating. Maybe that's what helps. Have you ever tested 85 octane? The little motor prob doesn't need 87 octane. Similar to how race gas hurts performance when its not needed.
Good point! Maybe it will run beetter on lower octane.
I mean I would use it for racing to be honest cuz your basically full throttle all the time and it’s a lubricant so it should be really good for it
Would you do a 2 stroke expansion chamber exhaust on a 212 for an experimental video
So cool 😎
All the water in exhaust... i would like to see the valves afterward.
Yeah! Just try to dial the carb in!
Bro my daughters mega moto 105 has officially with the $500 cost of bike from the store broke $1200 and as far as I can tell I have another $357 for GPS before the front suspension and tires and front brake kit is bought … my bike is 3x that much at this point and I haven’t even put it together yet…. That’s just parts.. I had no clue how bad the mission creep is with this hobby
Yes, I guess stock just isn't good enough when all those speed parts are looking back at you 😂👍😀
Maybe you just need to change the jet's in the Carburetor, just like you have to do when running alcohol,
🤔😲🥴😂 !
Did the chain come off right before the first 0-30?
It did make a weird noise right at that point🤔
Maybe it needed to be richened up a bit to deal with the oils in the WD40?
Interesting
What about two stroke fuel?
I recently did 1.3 ratio rockers on a gx200.. feels like it gained a ton of compression is this normal?
Make sure your valve lash is set correctly set lash when motor is at top dead center even if you think you got it right check again it can be tricky
Probably would of helped also if you adjusted the carb or re jetted 🤷. I doubted it would even start because it's more oily than gas. Impressive lol
Run the next one on Laccar thinner
If you fatten up the main jet just a little it will go faster
try using a lightweight oil see if it will run on that
What should be the first thing I do to my B200R with it still being reliable I just want a little more top end
wonder if it works for 2 stroke
funny:)
I once had a Zündapp 50cc that runs on gas 125 Km/h in straight Terrain like yours and uphill (10%) around 60...65 .
Nitromethane melts the piston on more than 5 trys (no matter how much oil i added)
at around 20000 rpm.
Sorryly i was caught speeding and the Bike was confiscated.
So remember do Not overtake a unmarked policecar while drive in a 100 KM/h speedlimmit Zone;).
especially not when yor Bike is registrated to have a top Speed of 50.
Hahaha. That’s so weird. With a lil tuning and jetting it would probably run fine.
Until the WD40 eats his rubber on his float valve and every other seal.
Is it 99° methanol? or am i thinking of de-icer.
Yes de-icer
That probably cost a little more on WD-40!! ...But at the price of the gaz today Im not sure loll !!
Mr black pls how do u change bars on a gts or azuza bike
Is this real advice? Should I actually try it?
put bigger jets in the carb
I tried paint thinner once on my alcohol mini bike it would idle ,but wouldn't Rev😂 it smelled awfull 🤮
How does that work
I tried a 50/50 mix of petrol and Diesel in a fuel injected car once, the Cat wasn't in the best shape so I wasn't worried about that, but surprisingly it ran fine, just like normal actually... and the fuel economy wasn't effected at all. & there was no noticeable difference in power. If the car didn't have a cat, I would probably do that more often, as the taxes on petrol are included in the price, where for diesel you pay taxes separately for distance covered. so mixing the two reduces the cost quite a bit. but would this work on a carburettor engine? I've never tried, may you would like to?
WD40 works in XM42 too.
I always put wd40 in my bike tbh. Now imma start putting more in
It doesn’t mess the bike up?? Does it help if anything?
Lean the mixture go faster
You loosened all the gunk in the carb with the wd a jet is plugged now...
This is a test bike.I have Many parts comparisons and engine swaps on this bike. It has far from moved on to different set ups. Check out the cc100x playlist.

All that paraffin in WD40 makes it run much leaner, by not burning 😅 my 175 does 85 mph, but it's a 2stroke.
Head down to your hobby shop and pick up a gallon of R/C airplan fuel and see what happens
I have an R/C airplane fuel video. Check it out! Also check the playlist for many engine and part teats videos! Thanks for watching! ua-cam.com/video/141owDJWJgw/v-deo.html
Bro I wish I had a mini bike
Haven’t purchased my first mini bike yet but I’m ready to. @Black66 can you give me some advice please? I would like a top speed of 60 mph, I’m 6’2 and 303 lbs.
I would say Your gonna want to use something with a 58mm stroke to help pull your weight like a Predator 224 ,Wildcat 223 Tillotson 236 or 263. That will help you get to 60 MPH that much easier.
Maybe put e-85
you might get faster if u put on a torque converter.
Hey Where do you get the rear sprocket for the triangle thing at 0:27?
Amazon
No rust for you!
It’s mostly water, WD-40
Steam engine!
Does a PWK 30mm flatslide carb work without porting on a predator 212 with 26lb springs, flywheel, rod, and a vm22 carb I wanna upgrade to flatslide carb
I'm not going to say that it won't work. Tuning a carb that is too big for the engine will be difficult. You'll have to change the jetting with temperature swings. Also, you might not be able to get a pilot and main jet small enough for that bigger carb to work properly. I would try a VM26 Mikuni clone, that carb worked well on my 229CC china bike before I went to a nibbi 30mm. I have to change jetting on bigger temperature swings to get it to run right. At the very least adjust my air screw to get it right for the ride. Also you will have to adjust idle...What I'm saying is its not a good idea unless you want to constantly be tuning every time you ride.
basically 2 stroke gas lol
You have got to be kidding me
No, had to try it!
That stuff must have some % of alcohol in it.
Even has that sound.
EDIT:
Just read that it doesn't.😮
how about 50/50 paint thinner and gas or 50/50 kerosene and gas😜
Tune the carb and try it again
Hello
Kiss your float needle valve and all your rubber seals Goodbye.
The channel is about testing different fuel, part combos engine swaps and builds. The carb will be swapped out shortly . Check out the playlist. Thanks for watching! ua-cam.com/video/141owDJWJgw/v-deo.html
Readjust the carb and timing.
pretty sure the cost of wd40 is way more than gas.
Were is the little grill and she my friend
There’s just no way 💀
Wanna really see it smoke try running it on coleman fuel..foggy!
LOL 😊
😂😅😮
Of course it is faster. Probably gets better MPG also with WD40. The only reason it works is because WD40 costs $15 a gallon? If it were CHEAPER than gas then it wouldn't have worked. Just the laws of the Shitverse.😅
