    Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

    Fun fact : there's a blossoming trend in France these days where instead of doing illegal stuff, young people will walk around a city and when they find a group of pickpockets they'll follow them around while yelling "PICKPOCKETS ATTENTION" and pointing :)

    Thank you for your psa about Paris pickpockets. My daughter and I were on a Paris subway platform waiting for a train when a very nice gentleman came up to us and pointed out these 3 young ladies (probably the ones in your video!!!) who were leaning against the subway wall He told us they were watching us and to beware of them. After he spoke with us, the girls saw what he did and they all left the platform in different directions and my daughter and I got on the next train unscathed thanks to that kind man. After that we were hyper aware of our surroundings. Thank you kind sir. And, yes, we enjoyed Paris very much.

    • @CM-yz3ze
      @CM-yz3ze Місяць тому +63

      It doesn't necessarily work like that. Very often the family's introduce the two to each other, and they get some time to figure out if they are going to be a good match. There are a variety of different arranged marriages and most of them these days are not ones where you meet the day at the altar.
      Considering the slightly more modern way that they were interacting, she would likely have a say as to whether or not she would have to marry the person they have in mind for her.

    • @YourWaywardDestiny
      @YourWaywardDestiny Місяць тому +60

      @@toxiczombiewolf5692 Arranged marriage is not as specific of a thing as you're thinking, so I hesitate to say it's always a toxic thing; some are more like old-school dating services where you tell a match maker you're available and what you're looking for, and some of them are literally just social mixers of single people, and some are parents throwing single adult-children at each other in hopes one sticks without pressure to actually commit to any one of them out of a want to see their kids happy. What is toxic is thinking you need to control your daughter, so I'm going to leave the arranged marriage out of it when I say that father should not have a say in his daughter's love life. He might be right by his family's relationship with the concept of an arranged marriage, and he might be wrong by his family's relationship with the concept of an arranged marriage, but none of that matters because MIND YOUR BUSINESS, SIR, SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO GO DOWN THAT ROAD IF SHE DOESN'T WANT TO.

    In like 9th grade they did a foreign exchange program with France which obviously included the obligatory visit of Paris - lots of pickpocketers but also people who would just tear something out of your hands and book it - guess what happend?
    Someone grabbed this dude's backpack and tried to run off with it... They really couldn't have picked a worse target and they probably realized it the second he started chasing after them.

    Years ago someone I was dating sent me a beautiful arrangement to my work as a surprise. My emotions were overwhelmed and my day was brightened as it was also the first time someone had done that for me. 9 out of 10 women around me were fawning over it, telling me I was so lucky etc. Then of course there was the one sour faced coworker (that had to make EVERYTHING a competition) who started rambling about how her mom grows flowers at her house that are much bigger and prettier etc. Like okay that's great Becky but no one asked you lol

    My son was VERY QUICK, to come to my rescue about a month ago. I was in the kitchen, alone, eating a chicken sandwich, when a piece of the chicken got stuck in my throat. At first, I just thought I could take a drink, and that would make it go down... it didn't. That's when the panic set in. I quickly started heading for the hallway, and my son's room. Since his room was all the way at the end of the hallway, I began hitting the wall as I went, which worked. He was at my side before I even made it halfway. I was very lucky though, my airway wasn't completely blocked, and I was bent over and took a breath, forcing as much air as I could into my lungs. The result was me coughing, and THANKFULLY, dislodging the chicken. But yes, my son reacted VERY FAST.

    In the 1970s, my friend Pam turned 21 and we met her father at a restaurant. He had 21 red roses delivered to the table. This woman started complaining about the roses. So her dad, got up with the roses and went to her table and put them under her nose. He said
    “Did you say you wanted to smell the roses?” He was very serious. 😂😂😂 That’s New York humor in the old days. RIP Pam and Uncle Andy. ❤

    The roses one was sweet and that woman at the other table looked pissed off for no reason! My husband and I have been married for almost 35 years and he still holds my hand when we're walking in the parking lot and stuff. We had this one woman stop us to tell us how adorable we are to be holding hands still. Aw, yeah, I'm lucky that I got a great guy.

    The “I WISH I’d said that” feeling is called “l’esprit de l’escalier”-literally “the spirit of the staircase” or “staircase wit,” when you think of the perfect comeback too late, as you walk upstairs to bed. One of those great concepts for which English lacks a word/phrase, so we need to borrow it. Like “schadenfreude.”

    I was sick one year and passed out in the bathroom. My partner heard me hit the tub but took some time to come in thinking I dropped something. Once they knew different it caused a brain change for life. I drop the shampoo bottle and suddenly the door swings open "you okay?" EVERY TIME 4 YEARS LATER. Its cute but reminds me I am waaay to clumsy.

      Same sort of thing happened with my hubby. I was feeling really sick after our son was born and my hubs was mad because he felt I wasn't taking care of myself and just kept telling me to rest. He had to leave on a work trip a day or two later and I got crazy sick while was gone, to where I was writhing in pain for several hours before asking my sister to drive an hour and watch my newborn so I could go to the ER. I ended up going into surgery to get my gallbladder removed and it was also discovered that I had H. Pylori. My husband felt awful and now takes me seriously when I say that something isn't right.
      Also, I have a brain injury as well ❤️‍🩹

    I think for a lot of pick pocketers, it is the thrill of actually getting away with it that makes them want to do it!
    There is a couple CSI episodes where they bust a pick pocketing rings and they are quite elaborate!

      You get into pick pocketing the same way you get into shoplifting: you try it and get away with it.

    When I lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, pick pocketing was an issue there too. People would spray shaving cream on your bags and then say “oh, a bird pooped on you. Let me help you clean that off!” And while they’re “helping” you clean your bag, they’re going through and stealing your stuff. A friend of mine also had her passport stolen out of her pocket while riding on the subway. Always keep an eye on your stuff and on your surroundings in an unfamiliar place!

      Be careful having your phone out near the door of metro. Pick pockets will snatch it from your hand just as the doors close….train pulls away and they are bolting away from the station.
