According to the AFT, you can get an illegal machine gun for free by simply downloading a picture of an 'Auto Key Card' from the Internet. Gosh forbid you're found with a printed version of that picture in your possession.
A ban on knowledge is the planned “end-game“ because, an idiot is less of a threat to the system than intellectual.....The idiot is ONLY harmless out of ignorance, and their ethics malleable by fear.....The intellectual is ONLY peaceful due to reason, and there morality is ironclad by freedom.....only ONE of the individuals described is controllable and “they” know this.

I too am outraged. Ban the NFA. Somebody needs to contact Moms Against Stuff They Don’tUnderstand and organize a march.
You can avoid this $200 fee if you are a Mexican drug lord or a Middle Eastern terrorist organization as well. Then the U.S. government just hands you fully auto weapons, tanks, and other weapons it forbids the American citizens to own. The same citizens that foot all of the government's bills.

The only reason MGs are banned is because the feds realized just how outgunned they where against the criminals at the time (I'm talking 1920s and early 30s). This was when the FBI (Well Bureau of Investigation) where armed with .38s and 12 gauges, while the likes of Capone, Dillinger, Clyde, Kelly etc had BARS and Thompsons. The Feds realized that they can't have the public outgunning them (even though only 1% used them in criminal means) and forced Congress to pass the '34 GCA so the Federal Govt will always have the upper hand in hardware. To equal them (as the 2nd amendment intended) means you either go to jail for life, or wind up 6ft under because your a threat to them.
Actually it was so they had a reason to arrest the gangsters when they couldn’t get any evidence for the actual crimes they committed. It’s the same thing they still do now make a felony out of something that was legal last month to create felons. It’s back door gun control.
@@kenmeuse2226 That was the point to SBSs and SBRs being added to the NFA, MGs where added for the reason specified (at least in my mind and opinion, given the research and knowledge I have of the times).
@@buckberthod5007 most police forces had Thompson’s and a bar or colt automatic rifle. They weren’t outgunned. They couldn’t come up with enough evidence to convict the gangsters so they had to come up with new crimes they could use. Al Capone for example. The same with felons no longer being allowed to have firearms . Until then if you had a firearm in your possession when they arrested you they gave it back to you when they let you out of prison.
If you read the NFA hearings record, they said they didn't have a problem with people owning big bulky belt-feds, but just didn't like concealable or easily-transportable MGs like the Thompson.
So few Thompsons had been produced at the time, that it became clear in the hearings AG Cummings initial claims were total BS.
I printed out all the proceedings notes into a small phone book so I could study it more and highlight what their supposed merits were.

1. Pistols
2. Machineguns
3. Short barrel shotguns under 16"
4. Silencers
Nothing was even mentioned about rifles. A midwest congresman expressed concern that hunting rifles would be targeted, but AG Cummings said there was zero intent to regulate rifles.
The Congressman insisted on including rifles, and for extra credit, pump up the barrel length for rifles and shotguns to 18" just to make sure.
It was a total clown show.

The NFA isn't what bans machineguns, per the US v. Rock Island Armory case, which found that someone can't be charged with violating the NFA by not paying the tax, if the government refuses to collect said tax. What we need repealed to make machineguns legal again is the GCA. Another interesting fact is there's long been speculation that the politically connected are able to get post-86 transferables approved.
