My theory is....gohan was born before goku activated his S cells that's why gohan also struggled to achieve ssj...where as goten and trunks where born after goku and vegeta triggered there S cells..... thats why it was easy for them
That theory actually makes sense when you realise that Chichi likely banged Goku 5 days before the Cell games when he was in perma-SSJ 💀
If anything, his cells should have activated when Krillin was killed by Piccolo’s brother.
No gohan was born with massive amount of s-cells evident in his fight with raditz but he slightly struggled to go ssj because again he didn’t really like fighting and was hesitant to fight all out with goku and piccolo in the time chamber but as a baby he was stronger than 2 grown saiyans and a grown namekian

I think this arc is going to involve all the saiyans on Beerus' planet, and Toyotaro is 100% setting up Broly's controlled SSJ transformation and Adult Gotenks. And, mark my words, both of those moments will be epic and will make clutch saves during this arc. Not saying they will beat the bad guy, that will be Goku as usual, but they'll have their cool moment just like Vegeta and Granola had in the last arc.
