June 27, 1949 - January 6, 2016
As a youth, Eddie was a Carter Cadets Drum Corp member. He went on to work with many celebrated artists including Al Green and James Brown. He however jumped off the page and started to shine as a longtime member of the group Kid Creole & The Coconuts.
This well-respected percussionist & singer was a joyful spirited performer. I am honored to have shared the stage with him as well as many fun moments away from the spotlight.

I remember I went to see this live, Augusto Darnell and Sugar coated Arndt Hernandes were real genius and the greatest musician and showman
One of my favorite songs they did.
It was a cool jam and one of my fave to perform especially since it lends itself to theatrics.

Yes, I am familiar with it ....its a collector's item. Cal is playing bongos on that first jam. I have an album with Cal solely playing drums with Brubeck early in his career before Cal branched out on his own. Also loved Cal's Vibes hang with George Shearing.
