Can you do a video of neighborhoods to stay out of? Im in pensacola and me and my wife are looking to buy a home in mobile and both us work out in gulf port for better wages. But neither of us know mobile that well. Im a chef of 7yrs and shes a icu nurse of 5yrs. So job findings shouldnt be an issue
Definitely shoot me an email or text message, we can talk about specific areas that might work out best for you. So many factors to consider. Jeffjonesagent@kw.com or 251-545-8445
Very informative, Jeff! Nothing except for "The Loop" area looks a little familiar. I left Mobile (as a child) as you recall. I had lived in YesterOaks and also on Claridge Road. (not sure if the same area), and prior in Ross Wood? I left in 1969, though not of my own accord, (family move), attended Julius T. Wrights School back then. Then, returned for a short time in Summer of '79? Then, again in, times in 1999, when my Dad and his new family resided there, although not sure of the neighborhood.🤔 Dad had office space down on Airport Blvd or downtown Mobile. Always special memories there and have thought many times of settling there as my "final" home. You mention many Churches, how about Synagogues? Are there any left? Or in those areas that you depicted? Thanks for sharing this in future videos. I remember a shopping center, Bell Air(e) Mall? Not sure if Albertson's is still a grocery chain there or not. Thanks for helping to jar my memory from back in the day. 🙌
Yes, so many great memories. You mentioning those places reminds me of so much of my childhood in the 80s. I believe there are some synagogues. A quick Google search, and I discovered four. A newer edition is actually located at the entrance of the neighborhood Regency near the corner of University and airport.
I’m in Pensacola, but would love to move to the Eastern Shore, or Mobile area. Huntsville also sounds nice. The hubs has a city job here, so would have to find something in the city or county level in AL so we could make the move… 😀
A few reasons, but mainly I think the cost of living is cheaper, not to mention the property taxes if you buy a home. Also, the other day we visited Fairhope and drove around the area and I really liked it, all the areas there look so quaint and nice. In Pensacola while some areas are nice, such as downtown, there are a lot of surrounding run down parts of town that are quite ugly and not safe. We did visit downtown Mobile recently and noticed a lot of homeless people, but there are a lot in Pensacola as well, especially in the downtown area and parks. Another reason I’d like to move to AL that is more on the idealistic side is that we lived in S Florida for many years and it was actually great to escape that crazy cesspool! It has gotten so crowded, fast paced and unfriendly there, plus other than the beach, the topography (so flat!) and landscape are kind of bland. Up here there are a lot more hills, which I love. So anyway, I’d kind of just like to move out of FL all together and start fresh in another state. Alabama seems like a good place and the move would be easy since we’re not too far away. I’m hoping maybe the new airport will have some good openings (my husband currently works for the city at the Pensacola airport doing HVAC) he has enough experience to do supervisory work, but there is nothing currently available there at a higher level, so he’s got his eye out for anything. I’ve been checking the Mobile city jobs to see if anything pops up 🤞. It would be great if he could transfer, but surely there isn’t something like that being they’re different states, but maybe it would facilitate it at least.
I'm more a "see traffic congestion and head 180 degrees the opposite direction to the suburbs or better yet, far out to the county line." kind of shopper. I suppose I miss a lot if restaurants and shopping in the city, but I just need the space. 🙄😁 Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
I wish I was that good. I have a videographer sitting in the passenger seat shooting all of this for me. I would never be that irresponsible. I appreciate you watching!
@@livinginmobile But you are being unsafe and irresponsible as you take your eyes off the road several times to look at the camera. It’s good you have someone doing it for you but eyes should always be on the road. A blink of an eye or a glance a way is all it takes for someone to be hurt or killed. There is really never a need to video anything while I’m a moving vehicle.
I think you will find that difficult to answer, because Mobile is very diverse in general, and every community will be different. I wish I could help give a more definite answer.
What do you think the average property tax is on a $195,000 house in Mobile Alabama?
I can't guess, it won't be fair!
Under $1000? 🤔
@@Gati1313 That’s about right! It’s super cheap!
Just sent this to my brother-in-law and Sister-in-law who are moving early August.
Thank you. I hope it helps. We will be happy to give them the grand tour!
I’m looking for something around 250k
There are several homes in that price range in Mobile. Send me a message, and I’ll help you anyway I can.
Great video
Thank you!!

I remember when Checkers opened up at Airport Blvd and Hillcrest.
Where’s the most diverse area for families?

Anna, there are certainly a lot of great things about our area. I would love to know in particular what makes you want to move from Pensacola?

Here’s some info you might want to know about Lake Forest. Hopefully this helps.

A lot of folks move to our area for this exact same reason. There are lots of areas that have a lot of breathing room and space between neighbors.
All😢 churches do is take your money and get rich.😂
Dude. Why are you making videos in your car while driving down the road. Very irresponsible and dangerous.
I wish I was that good. I have a videographer sitting in the passenger seat shooting all of this for me. I would never be that irresponsible. I appreciate you watching!

I agree, not the safest way to make a UA-cam video, it’s just not worth it. Just wait until you get to your destination and the record your video.
