- Last Sunday the weather forecast was optimistic and predicted some thermals. Even though it was very cold, I decided to make a first flight with the sponsored glider Discus 2cT "IYB".
It was a great 2:35 h flight with some good lifts with up to 3,5 m/s.
Special thanks to "Deutscher Aero Club e.V." to give me the oppertunity to use this nice glider for season 2018!

Ich bin auch noch nie so früh im Jahr in Deutschland mit Thermik geflogen. Es ging halt nur über den Wäldern und kleinen Hängen, die direkt von der Sonne angestrahlt wurden. Sonst hat der Schnee einfach zu viel Licht reflektiert...
Ich kann kaum auf die neue Saison warten. Tolles Video!

Hi Bill, the new glider flyies great! It´s easy to fly and has a sustainer engine. So there is no possibility to self launch. But for a 18m glider I´m missing the flaps :D

Hey Stefan, what lens do you use on your camera for the air-to-air videography of other gliders? Great videos !!
Everything in this video is shot with the Leica 12 - 60mm. Thank you!! It was the first time filming with the GH5 myself in the glider and there are many things to improove. I´m also not 100% satisfied with the polariser.

Keine sorgen, dein Englisch ist viel besser als mein Deutsch. Vielleicht konnte jemand Untertitel schreiben. Dieses Video ist ganz prima. Du bist glücklich dass du auch im Winter segelfliegen kann. Unsere Flughafen ist unter etwa 60 cm Schnee.
