Great video thank you. You guys don’t realise how fortunate you are over the pond when it comes to rust! We have our prevailing winds coming off the Atlantic Ocean and as a result salt in the air causes any bare steel to rust big time! So our fenders and bonnets would fall off if they aren’t looked after and resprayed. Your 6610 would have a good 10 more horses than a 175 but she is running well for a 50 year old machine.
I still have & use my dad's 175 Massey. It's a very fast tractor & pretty handy. My dad used it to plant with a 6 row planter for most of his farm life. Switched to our Allis Chalmers 180 once we got a 12 row planter. He would bolt a halogen spotlight in the front hitch when planting that would shine bout the length of a 40 acre field! Also have duals for it!
We have a 1964 MF65 high lift, Grandfather and my Father got it in the early 70’s, we plow snow and snowblow with it in the winter and pull trees and farm with it in the summer.
When new the MF 175 was 67hp it's quiet engine is because of its long Stroke , compared to a Ford of the same era which had a short stroke bigger Bore , the only downside to the old Masseys of that era you had to spilt the tractor to get at the PTO or Hydrulic pump . Nice to see it still working after all this time . Thank you for the Clip Jacob .
Yes with the 8 speed box you can tow start , with a multi power you can't tow , also you have NO engine braking in Low. On balence the Ford 8 speed with duel power is a better Box .
I'm in the Uk but I've owned a 73. Fairlane 500 with a 351cu . But my next purchase will be a Holden commodore SS. with the LS 3 Engine , I'd like a Lowndes special edition but they will be to much money .
Massey Fergusons last forever if ya treat them right, we have a 1964 MF65 bought with only a few hours on it in 1970, the Perkins just purrs nicely like it was brand new, engine never rebuilt just a head gasket from it sitting for two years, and a new clutch in it about three years ago.
Nice video. Great to see something a little different. That Perkins is a great motor. Be nice to hear what your dad thinks of it compared to your tractors.
tractor data says Massey 175 draw bar test 53.5 hp. must be the wheel weights making the 175 pull that disc so well. sometimes it is not about big hp it is just about properly applying the available hp. thanks for the video.
Soybean Farmer 62 pto was the 175s . 165 was about 52. Close to those numbers anyway. 180 was same as 175 just ones a utility and other row crop. But they always did outpull similar utility tractors , pound per hp I mean. We pulled 3 -16s pretty easily with 165 and 4- 14s with the 175. And we have some good size hills! My dad had about ten different models from a 35 to an 1100.
Used to have one just like that haha. Used to haul 6x5 round bales with it and had to steer more with the brakes than the wheel haha. It was a good tractor though. It liked to eat front wheel bearings and the three point broke an arm once but that was about it.
Boehm Farm haha true, but it did have a nearly full rack of suitcase weights on front. They weren't held on very well though. I remember those well since I got chewed out as a kid for letting one fall off without realizing it. My cousin "found" it with the discbine a month later... haha
Boehm Farm You know, this tractor really does look identical to the one I'm talking about and I don't think you're too far from us. Does it have any welds on its 3 point arms?
Boehm Farm yea, it had an issue with fuel, was putting fuel into the exhaust for the customer for a while. Had made a thick paste inside the muffler. I had it running on the dyno after we fixed it to burn out the muffler... well it got hot enough to catch fire. Was blowing fire in the air and that diesel/carbon mix was raining down on it.
This is his field. It's sorta share crop situation. He will till it up, we plant and fertilize, and he gets enough corn to burn in his furnace and we get the rest.
That ol' Massey was working real hard. It looked , to me, that the front tires were just a bit off the ground a few times. Then again I've been wrong a couple of times
Decent old tractor Massey's good for doing the job a Perkins runs real smooth in my work we use one class smaller all of our tractors are 3 cylinder for doing the work on home sites that I do the mass is always been smoother than a Ford the firing order 132 on a Massey 3 cylinder and then 1 2 3 on a Ford 3 cylinder the Massey was so smooth because if fired 180 degrees apart and the Ford fires 160 degrees gives them more slow torque but they're rougher and loud
Meghan Randolph what do you base that opinion off of? Is it the EXTREME RELIABILITY of the perkins engine? The easily available parts? Or the low cost compared to a john deere or farmall.
Massey’s are great tractors. Our first tractor was a Massey Super 90 diesel. Did everything with that tractor. I wish we stilled owned it.
Deutz Allis Farmer we had one of those too. Not many around
Shoot, one of our landlords had a super ninety with excellent rice tires on it. He offered it to us, but we didn't need another tractor.
They are getting hard to find. I wish we could have kept the tractor. Today I would have, but back then we only owned what we needed.
That Massey 175 is doing an excellent job with the hydraulic harrow! I wish I had a restored one to go with all my Fords.
Great video thank you.

I have seen some tractors from Florida, they seem to have accelerated rust.
We had Perkins in one of our tractors ,and front end loader. They never gave us a problem for over twenty years.
Great video! Thanks for showing us the Massey working!
You're welcome.

That would be one pulling tractor with duals!!
good ole MFer getting er done! love them old masseys. my neighbor has a 135 diesel great little tractor
we've got a 135 with a loader, we loaded logs with it everyday for years believe it or not it will load heavy logs
We have a 1964 MF65 high lift, Grandfather and my Father got it in the early 70’s, we plow snow and snowblow with it in the winter and pull trees and farm with it in the summer.
Shes got work clothes on but still sexy
You put a Massey Harris out of Your hat 🙌 This video should get the Oscar for farm videos 👍 can't get any better 👏😁🙌😘👍
It's not our Massey.

Nice. Years ago my uncle had a massy 175 and a 180.
those Perkins engines are amazing! We've got 4 and they don't need an oil change! Plus, they are easy to work on!
Um... I feel like any any engine should have an oil change at least once a year.
Boehm Farm I meant to say they are good and they don't leak oil
Nice old tractor and disk. Doing a great job. OL J R :)

Hi sir👍,, what are the total working tractormeter hours❤️👍
I like that Massey! There's one in my area for sale right now for $3k. I wish I had the cash, I could use a tractor like that!
Eh, just give them your left leg.
You are looking at the workhorse of MF 175 and the 185 two beasts for sure.
Good work man
Thank you
Nice video. Great to see something a little different. That Perkins is a great motor. Be nice to hear what your dad thinks of it compared to your tractors.
He likes the Perkins engines. We were looking at little Masseys before we found the first three cylinder ford.
It was the big tractor on the farm at one time. Pulled a four bottom plow with it. 4-14 moleboar plow
I've got a 165 Massey it's a good tractor
same tractor i had for about 15 yrs also the disc is the same never should have sold it loved it
Everyone wishes to keep all the tractors/
First tractor I ever drove was a 175
With a westendorf loader

Yeah man love them MF, never experienced a 175 but spent many days on 135, 150, 165 and a 180 they are really good old tractors.
We had two 135 and 175 in the 70s
Excellent
Thank you
you finely got a good tractor
It's a neighbors machine.
+Boehm Farm you should buy it it is a amazing tractor
Man I really hope u hit 10 000 soon
I should be in the next couple days.
Used to have one just like that haha. Used to haul 6x5 round bales with it and had to steer more with the brakes than the wheel haha. It was a good tractor though. It liked to eat front wheel bearings and the three point broke an arm once but that was about it.
Sounds like you needed front weights.

My kind of Red. Nice.
This brought back memories, it’s a long story but I had one burst into flames on me in the shop I worked at....
And it was diesel?
Boehm Farm yea, it had an issue with fuel, was putting fuel into the exhaust for the customer for a while. Had made a thick paste inside the muffler. I had it running on the dyno after we fixed it to burn out the muffler... well it got hot enough to catch fire. Was blowing fire in the air and that diesel/carbon mix was raining down on it.

Good tractor, these old ones is hard to beat, still prefer the old Fords
I like the old fords too.
Wow that's a big disc, 12-14 ft?
What is He just having some fun helping you guys out cool😛 take care now 🐝
This is his field. It's sorta share crop situation. He will till it up, we plant and fertilize, and he gets enough corn to burn in his furnace and we get the rest.
Are you guys getting the storm from the half because we are in Indiana.
We did get some rain. And any rain right now is too much.
Have you fertilize that field?
Yes, right before the disking you see here.
So you fertilized it first , then you planted?
Brittish engineering at its best
Hard to beat a Perkins
That ol' Massey was working real hard. It looked , to me, that the front tires were just a bit off the ground a few times. Then again I've been wrong a couple of times
Bill Fitzpatrick thats when the fun begins lol
The old saying applies. Horse power tells you how fast you hit the wall. Torque tells you how far you went through the wall
Nice one Bill, I like that ha ha.
Stay seated and please hold onto the bar :-)

Rusty Stuff very fuel efficient also those Perkins
jlsmith6310 ya our 1964 mf65 is great on fuel compared too these new ones of the same hp
Great tractors! Brakes suck and the steering isn't as good as JD or IH of comparable years but overall decent tractors
I’ll be disappointed if there isn’t a special episode when you hit 10 000
There shall be!
What's rear rims and tyre dimensions?
18.4×30
👍👌🇨🇦❤
Is that your tractor
No, that's a neighbors tractor.
I have a 175 and 50 massey
Hello
Hi
Massive failure
Meghan Randolph what do you base that opinion off of? Is it the EXTREME RELIABILITY of the perkins engine? The easily available parts? Or the low cost compared to a john deere or farmall.
I was just kidding gosh
