Im not 100% certain on this but in rs3 i think you have to lower your invention lvl (unless you got the perk already) to get a specific lvl of a perk. I forget which one but it sounded ridiculous to me at the time 😂
I remember seeing a video of this before the method was public and I guessed it had something to do with the stat reduction in the snowy desert treasure area.
I like to imagine the first person who figured this out and would just sell one at a time for high prices because no one had a clue how to get it. Love Runescape for this type of thing

@@MidRainNight It’s okay. Slow people usually have issues believing that their are other people with higher intelligence and intuition than them. Even though it doesn’t take rocket science to know that the god wars entrance lowers stats, and there are several skills that only require the level to start the process, not to continue it. Stamina potions are a good example. You only need the level to start making them, but if your herblore boost drops under the level, you will still continue to make the whole inventory unless you interrupt it.
For anyone who doesn't play OSRS, the stack of 100 million he shows here could at the time could be sold for about 40-50 USD (these days way less). So if someone bought one for 100 mil then they were spending about 50 bucks to get one. I remember hearing about people trying to pay 500mil to 1 bil, not sure if it was true, but that would have been close to at least half a grand in real money if the deal went through.
I dont play OSRS but i did play it when it was just called Runescape, i seem to remember real world trading was a bannable offence and it was quite heavily monitored back then. I know it did happen but for the most part people just played the game for fun and people generally didn't pay money for ingame things, People simply bought membership and that was it. You earned everything else. this was back before the grand exchange was added mind you. The game was alot of fun back then, it felt like a real community because everyone talked to each other alot more.

No but that’s the thing, you’re right, it doesn’t let you. You can’t START cooking them if your level is drained below 50. But if you start cooking a full inventory at lvl 50+ there you’ll keep doing it once it drains below 50 then once it drains below 44 they’ll start to burn.
Reduce your stats automatically at a fast rate while cooking a full inventory of wraps to have a chance of burning one only after dropping below the minimum level to cook them. It’s a pretty bizarre thing to come up with
People did, but the options they had didn't allow for an easily replicable -6, and stats would restore over time in most places. Not to mention that once your level drops below 50 you can't attempt to cook the wrap, meaning you would NEED to reduce your cooking by 6 levels whilst batch cooking. This one area is the only place it's possible and it only works because the weather effect can not kill you, which most people wouldn't have known because you walk through it for 10-15s typically in high-end gear for the purpose of boss killing, and with the generally accepted consensus of "this area is probably lethal" and the fact any damage will stop the batch cooking process it wasn't something people considered for a while. They also couldn't try to raise their stats and then batch cook because even if you could get a +6 cooking boost (highest is +5) your level would only go down by 1 every 60s, meaning you would need to wait at least 5 minutes and 1 second until your level was low enough to burn the wrap, which you would finish batch cooking in 67.2 seconds if processing a full inventory.
I remembered i needed burnt meat for a quest but i had a really high cookin level and took me like 20mins to burn some meat... when i could have just cooked the meat twice.. rip
I haven't played runescape in years, but can't you like, use a food item on a cooking range twice and it burns it? That's how I got burnt meat for the witch quest back in the day.

Generally when a stat is lowered below the req to do a thing, you just can't do the thing anymore, so being able to cook it while below the minimum level req due to stat draining makes this unusual and is probably part of why it wasn't thought of by those trying to figure it out (which I doubt was many people to begin with since its just a useless piece of burnt food).

Hindsight is 20/20. People didn't know about 90% of the strats we use nowadays until recent years. Also no other food allows you to keep cooking it after your level is drained to my knowledge.

I was like y not go to the godwars dungeon to lower your stats seems simple enough… but I never tried it because I thought it was too simple of an idea and people would of easily figured out this method 😂 so it must of been a different way… 🤦

I then found out, out of curiosity, that they actually were selling quickly at this price. I lurked in the Kharazi Jungle for days on end and made bank, not knowing that what I was doing was actually selling to youtubers trying to get the rarest item in the game.
I remember a long time ago botting on this game and they would reset accounts with half XP, I had items equipped I wasn't suppose to have people were like how?! lol.
And you can only get about 1-3 burnt oomlie wraps per inventory, becuse you have to start cooking at 50, at the minimum, and continue cooking until your cooking is lowered enough to burn, which means its still a high chance for success. @FlippingOldschool has a video on him attempting this as a money-making method

You can’t purposely burn shrimp, only a few kinds of meat can be burnt this way for sake of making progress in some quests

Yes there are weekly updates that are polled / voted on by the community. Roadmap for 2024 is full of new content and a new skill.

Exactly. Happens with magic for example, you can't cast spells if your magic level drained is lower than the spell requirement

Plenty of people did. Those that figured it out kept it to themselves, generally, because you could make a quick buck selling them.

No, because you have to be cooking them as your cooking drops. If you used a stew to drop below 50, you wouldn't be high enough level to cook it.

With basically all food besides this one, you stop cooking it once your level gets drained below the required one. People probably figured that was the case here too

Wait I played RuneScape for a really long time. Can't you just recook food that's already cooked and give the burnt version?
Nope. Burning only occurd when cooking a raw item, with a chance that decreases as you level your cooking higher.

Yes you can usually use cooked items on range/fire to burn it, however this item was not one of them.
@@toffeelatte6042 You can only do that with cooked meat since burnt meat is a quest item.
there are otherways to lower stats

Can only do this with certain meats to get burnt meat for witchs potion
