You should pin this or put it in the description! As someone who is new to TOA these are incredibly helpful because switching gear and attack styles during akkha's fight can be really confusing.
Its actually insane how much better this guide is than any other guide I've watched for TOA. I've already learnt a lot of the core TOA stuff but this really nails down a lot of the really good mechanics that really make a difference for you. 100/10 for this guide, no nonsense, no bull just the information and tactics you ACTUALLY need to improve. Looking forward to more videos from you!
Mate I've been learning 300s, seen every guide. This guide has by far the best tips out of all of them! Very clean, nicely explained and actually helpful information!
What a handsome video Also for P1 to maximize dps/minimize supplies used, if you start the fight at 99 hp and turn on rapid heal, you can tank orbs down to 75. You will heal to 76 before the balls come hit you for 75, then you can tick eat with yellow keris on the second set of balls. This is 100% consistent and you'll usually start p2 in the mid 80s hp
I like how you take some simple things aswell as more advanced things. I think everyone at the time they do TOA should know how run tricking works but it's nice to take the basics too esspecially when it's core to doing other strats and skips
Dude this guide is so much better than all the others! I've been trying to do solo 300s and kept failing, but I just practiced the stuff you mentioned here and now im consistently getting through zebak->kephri->akkha without sipping a single brew! Granted still need to get monkey "puzzle" down better but its still a huge improvement
27:05 this is mostly true but I want to clarify it slightly. Shaking Things Up adds 1 extra tick of leeway to the slam attack. The regular slam can be avoided in 2 ticks if you run in a cardinal direction, or 1 tick if you run diagonally or L-run (e.g. two tiles north and one tile east). With the invocation on, it takes 2 ticks to avoid, no matter which way you run. If you usually run straight, the invocation gives you extra time. If you usually run diagonally or L-run, the invocation gives you the same amount of time.
I haven't really played 2+ years and I randomly come across the best Toa video I've seen it happens to be from OG Pen Sir??? Hell yeah man killing it. -Bluntology
What a gem of a video, came for baba red x (i saw the other video) and stayed for the entire video I always thought bf is also red x but that looked simple af gonna learn it on some entrys today I guess Just here to share some love and keep the algorithm up
Thanks so much :) Yeah bf is much easier than I first thought - just gotta try it once or twice! I highly recommend being salted because you use a lot of run energy
2:20 small nitpick. If u push a jug into a rock towards zebak(East->West) with upset stomach on, it will not create a safespot. However, if you push a jug into a rock away from zebak(West->East) it will give you a safespot.
I'll have to double check on this. From my understanding when a jug hits the rock the water "explosion" happens in a 3x3 area (with upset stomach) with the rock in the middle, which would clear 1 square of acid in any direction. Once I'm off work today I'll double check though. I guess I usually push from the sides so I'm not certain
@@PenSirOSRS He's right. I always use upset stomac and if there is an easy jug but it's on the west side of the rocks, i'm just gonna ignore it and try to move an other jug or send it so that it doesnt hit the rock and manually hit it with my bow to blow it up because it wont create a safe spot if it blows up by hitting the rock.
Thanks just finished the quest and did my first raids last night! Best guide I've seen so far and it's not even close. There's so many bad ones that explain nothing lol
@@PenSirOSRS Did 7 normals now I'm stubbornly forcing myself to get a 350 lol. I have a question: I am *consistently* only getting 1 salt from chaos, sometimes I get through zebak without needing a brew sip but usually not for peace of mind. Should I drink my remaining salt dose at the very start of warden, or wait until p2/p3? Considering I will 100% need to brew on final phase and won't keep the boost I do usually have 1-2 sips of super combat left by warden, so should I just sip that and wait until P3 for salt?
@@Sahbab11 It may be worth trying to switch to power, this will make it so you always get 2 salts if you have the need less help invocations. If you want to stick with chaos I would say leave the last salt for after the obelisk is dead, unless you drained your stats by brewing. If the salt is over you never want to brew because you lose so much damage, so focus on using brews while the salt is going and then only yellow keris/ambrosia to heal (you should be taking life the second time you see the spirit and have 4 ambrosia doses for wardens)
@@PenSirOSRS Thanks yeah I've just gotta get zebak (my last) down without a brew and really strech that 1 salt or go power if my supplies emit it. Been making it hard on myself: some zuk helm guy told me to take one life invo and 100% spec invo, I'm also only learned insanity as I attempt these 350s so I sank a nice lil small forture in attempts lol (swapped to 3 life now and ofc took 100% spec off). Your skull skip tutorial has been super helpful havn't failed that yet, but I only have ZCB since I havn't done SOTE yet so the timing is super wonky for attacking last 2 phases warden. Squeezing those slo-mo hits in is odd with the quick feet needed aha. Yeah it's weird I'm not choosing any of the supply reduction invos but I havn't seen 2 salts in chaos for ageeees! Edit: I got to 20% Warden 3x in a row now finally clicking. Only did 7 150s before this so it takes awhile to get used to for sure
Dude, this is so good. I've watched a lot of TOA videos and this is perfect! Really appreciate you! Will be waiting for more raids tips and tricks in the future!
Another tip: With "Mind the gap" turned ON, you can safely red-x Baba on the TOP ROW of tiles only, and it won't shove you down the gap. It will stop you right before you reach the gap every time as long as you're on the very top of the room.
Omg this video was incredible. I learned so many things that will help me improve. I’m at work right now and I’m excited to get home and run a solo toa just to practice some of this stuff. Seriously amazing guide, thanks so much for the time it took to make this
This is very helpful, I don't need this info myself but my friend is preparing to start raiding for the first time and there is some very good and helpful info in here
Idk why I enjoy these types of vids when am a Gm and know almost everything in these vids, I always find myself watching them while I'm on the toilet seat. Idk I guess I enjoy the community's passion
One thing I like to do for akkha is salt before entering his room, right after the mirror puzzle because he always spawns in the same spot so I never need to pray melee when setting up the butterfly. This is a solid guide though my man.
I also think it's smart to try to save an adrenaline for enraged wardens. If you drink an ambrosia you can use the yellow Keris and try to save ambrosia doses. Idr how many Keris specs u get but I think it's 3.
Alright so ive watched guides for starting ToA but im barely 3mins in and u explain how to perform the mechanic, rather than just saying to walk through the zeb wave. Good detail and the tile markers are a big help for seeing the game ticks
Tip for remembering which side to be on after skull skip: watch the wardens hand. If he lefts his left hand its the right side, if he lifts both hands middle, if he lifts right hand, its left side.
Zebak tip: Zebak's first boulder special attack will always be frontmost (boulders land closest to Zebak). His second attack will always be a little bit further back (boulders land further away from Zebak).
Does skull skipping only work with ranged weapons? I am trying to learn on leagues and i am doing magic as my main style. Also; Your descriptions are very clear and you do not talk fast which is great for me to absorb information. Great work!
Great video, I'm confident doing solo 350s but I don't use insanity. I was worried about the timing with the boulders but this has me confident. Also I upped my FOV to skip the obelisk in Kephris puzzle but having it in the plugin just not turned on was good to know Edit: insanity 390 complete. 19k chest but that's ok least I can do it now
@@Slushybear405 All warden except insanity, All Zebek and Baba invocs, All Kephri except Medic, No Double Trouble or Keep back but the rest of Akka, On a Diet, Walk The Path, Pathfinder, Quiet Prayers, Hardcore Run, and Need some Help That'll actually get you 355 but you can take off one of the 5pt zebek or baba ones
Hey just a quick fix on Zebak pushing/pulling the jug to the rock will not* always have a safe-spot. If the jug hits the far corner of the rock it will explode but will not clear poison on the near part of the rock. Otherwise nice starting guide GJ!!
Maybe you could make a video on basic raiding mechanics, I just started playing after almost 10 years and the only combat mechanics I know are clicking on the mob and waiting for it to die as well as 2 tick prayer flicking. I feel like movement is important, you talked about skipping tiles by running which I didn't know. I'm just trying to start raiding soon and you explain things very well.
I thought I knew everything after hundreds of normal and now expert modes, barring the butterfly and red x methods (too lazy to learn em) but here I learn that you dont even have to care about the UFO's anymore, and I also got to learn why my ambrosia count suddenly got so consistent after I put on On a Diet...the more you know
Thanks for the tips! Also I love the way your game looks! I know you mentioned that you use 117 HD but can share all your settings for that as I can't get mine to look the same?
This video is amazing! You broke everything down so good it looks so easy, I learned a lot from this, thank you very much! Also what hd plug-in is this for runelite, game looks great!
@@coffeetoaster i mean you can do it but it's much slower without insanity since you have to wait the whole time until skulls explode and it takes much longer the less speed invos you have And that opens you up to other mistakes like tanking boulders missing prayer flicks or even eating the ground attack if your timing is off, since the skip timer changes from no invo to overclocked to overclocked 2 to insanity
@Teyraman That's fair. It honestly isn't too slow, I just memorized how many boulders fall before I spam click and it is easy with all Warden invos except insanity. It is still efficient for points by far with the multiplier on Warden. I was still hitting 36-38 min 350s with no shadow while doing skull skip and 3 downs. Even without the overclocked it is probably still worth it (though the overclocked invos are essentially free so IDK why you wouldn't run them.) I died once learning the timing and then haven't again in like 80 runs.
Could you make a video about your runelite base settings? I mean your screen looks so smooth it's crazy.. eg at Kephri there's no mud and stuff on the ground like on my screen, it's so zen
The reorganizing one? Jagex recently green lit that (like a month or 2 ago I think?) pretty sure it's default in runelite now. You either right click the prayer icon... Or maybe ctrl or shift right click and select "prayer reordering"
Yeah I use the 117 HD, under "UI Scaling Mode" I set it to xBR and I have Anti-Aliasing disabled. I really enjoy the look! Also the pinkish hue my menus have are an option under "resource packs"
They are all pretty useful! I would say ladder skip is the least useful of the bunch UNLESS you're going with people you don't trust to do memory right or if you have the double trouble invocation added

This is very helpful, I don't need this info myself but my friend is preparing to start raiding for the first time and there is some very good and helpful info in here
i just cleared my first insanity raid after watching this. will do red x and butterfly next. thanks man. liked and subbed
This was a great guide, I learned so many little things that the full ToA runs didn't tell me. Great job on this video!
Idk why I enjoy these types of vids when am a Gm and know almost everything in these vids, I always find myself watching them while I'm on the toilet seat. Idk I guess I enjoy the community's passion
This vid helped a lot. I haven’t seen a lot of your content but based off this video alone you gained a sub. Thanks man!
Thanks so much!
woah, thank you so much there is so much new info here for me. I'm early into raiding but after watching this I'm certain I won't die in 300+ anymore
What the hell, this is such a great guide. Best one I have seen yet! This gives me hope again trying to solo TOA!
Your guide is insane , expecially about akka dodges
Protect this man at all costs
Thanks so much for putting this together, I’m going to refer back to this multiple times. Appreciate it dude!
No worries! Thank you!
Amazing video man. alot of great infor for peopleing moving from doing toa normal to trying more advanced methods
Alright so ive watched guides for starting ToA but im barely 3mins in and u explain how to perform the mechanic, rather than just saying to walk through the zeb wave. Good detail and the tile markers are a big help for seeing the game ticks
Such a good guide.
Thank you so much for the effort you put into making this video, It's so incredibly helpful.
Glad you liked it :)
Best of luck!!
Tip for remembering which side to be on after skull skip: watch the wardens hand. If he lefts his left hand its the right side, if he lifts both hands middle, if he lifts right hand, its left side.
Good shout!
Wtf never noticed that 😮
Thank you so much for this guide. Massively massively helpful for me.
Great guide mate!!! subbed
trying to learn toa on a 1 def pure and these tips helped
This guide gave so many good tips. Excellent work!
Incredibly well-created guide, super useful! Thanks so much for such a thorough explanation!
I wish this video existed before I started toa holy shit
this gave me a couple helpful tips to get me through my next run. Thanks for the tips
Still learning TOA but this was a great guide I'm certain I'll return to as I progress.
Zebak tip: Zebak's first boulder special attack will always be frontmost (boulders land closest to Zebak). His second attack will always be a little bit further back (boulders land further away from Zebak).
Insanely helpful guide especially for advanced mechanics keep it up man
5:20 minor thing, but you can save a tick if you click on the safe tile north/south of the middle one, and clicking again on the #5 tile.
Best guide I've ever seen
oh man i have learned so much, thank you for the guide!
Does skull skipping only work with ranged weapons? I am trying to learn on leagues and i am doing magic as my main style.
Also; Your descriptions are very clear and you do not talk fast which is great for me to absorb information. Great work!
It can work with magic as well! Good luck with learning and thank you!
Poop management: There's a couple ways you can do your poop. *leans in closer*
Just come back to the game, this is so helpful.
learned some new stuff, subbed. thanks man.
Thank you so much :)
Fantastic content mate 👏🏼 should do a gear progression recommendation 👍
Love the video. Would it be possible for you to add chapters? That would be super helpful to be able to immediately reference a path or boss
Great video, I'm confident doing solo 350s but I don't use insanity. I was worried about the timing with the boulders but this has me confident. Also I upped my FOV to skip the obelisk in Kephris puzzle but having it in the plugin just not turned on was good to know
Edit: insanity 390 complete. 19k chest but that's ok least I can do it now
How do you even get it up to 350 without insanity
@@Slushybear405 All warden except insanity, All Zebek and Baba invocs, All Kephri except Medic, No Double Trouble or Keep back but the rest of Akka, On a Diet, Walk The Path, Pathfinder, Quiet Prayers, Hardcore Run, and Need some Help
That'll actually get you 355 but you can take off one of the 5pt zebek or baba ones
Hey just a quick fix on Zebak pushing/pulling the jug to the rock will not* always have a safe-spot. If the jug hits the far corner of the rock it will explode but will not clear poison on the near part of the rock. Otherwise nice starting guide GJ!!
Thanks! This guide is definitely tip worthy
Thank you so much!!
I learned so much. It's crazy how ignorant I was 🤣
Maybe you could make a video on basic raiding mechanics, I just started playing after almost 10 years and the only combat mechanics I know are clicking on the mob and waiting for it to die as well as 2 tick prayer flicking. I feel like movement is important, you talked about skipping tiles by running which I didn't know. I'm just trying to start raiding soon and you explain things very well.
I like this idea! Appreciate it :)
When doing baba red x after boulders, if you stand next to the wall you dont need to worry about the gap, you won't fall.
Good note! Does this only work right next to the top wall?
yeah exactly, just stand next to the top wall and even in the middle you won't fall :)
@@PenSirOSRS
Learned some tricks from your video, thanks!@@PenSirOSRS
@@franciscosouza8499 good to know! Thanks for the tip
I'll see if I can make a community post with a picture going over my settings! Lemme fiddle with it a bit
@@PenSirOSRS that'd be awesome, thanks!
thank you so much i learnt so much :).
Glad it helped! Good luck with the purples :)
no way he has medic on :O great video!!
Don't really like it :p was just to demonstrate a bit
keep making such great guide brother!!!
This video is great, kudos to you!
So for the Zebak tree room, how do you guys time the spikes then? Or is the only damage taken from the poison itself?
If you start on one of the marked tiles and run to the waterfall the spikes won't hurt you. You have to stand still on a tile for them to hurt you
He man sick vid, what's the plugin that shows bgs hit above your character ?
Solid video!
Really helpful guide. Thank you. :)
This video is amazing! You broke everything down so good it looks so easy, I learned a lot from this, thank you very much! Also what hd plug-in is this for runelite, game looks great!
You’ve earned a new sub, glad I clicked on the video :) keep up the hard work, and I look forward to watching all of your videos
Thanks so much! I'm using the runelite plug in "117 Hd" and tinkered a bit with the options til I go what I liked
Legend. 🤝🏻
bro i am actually baffled with some of the shit I just saw. so many mechanics I've never even heard of
Great video and tips! Thanks mate.
Thank you so much!
For radius markers, would you be able to set it up for Akkha's phantom in P3, the same way its set up for the Akkha fight?
Yep, this is the guide I needed
that soothing song you play on the background at crystal room on akkah? whats the name of the song? :O
great guide pen sir! just a question, how do you mark the orbs and the orb true tiles in akkha orb phase?
Under npc indicators I have true tile checked, then I just shift right click the orbs to tag them :)
@@PenSirOSRS alright thanks!
Love this guide, recommended!
does the skull skip work in teams? thansk for the great video!
It does work on teams! Make sure everyone you're with knows you are planning to skull skip :p
ive been doing all the 4 kephri puzzles solo hehe
Putting in the extra work 😈
Thanks for the video!
just a quick note, you should only skull skip if you have insanity on, don't think you mentioned that. Great tips overall!
Good call! I forgot to mention that. Thanks for looking out :)
Why's that? I do it for the extra points either way
@@coffeetoaster i mean you can do it but it's much slower without insanity since you have to wait the whole time until skulls explode and it takes much longer the less speed invos you have
And that opens you up to other mistakes like tanking boulders missing prayer flicks or even eating the ground attack if your timing is off, since the skip timer changes from no invo to overclocked to overclocked 2 to insanity
Even without the overclocked it is probably still worth it (though the overclocked invos are essentially free so IDK why you wouldn't run them.)
I died once learning the timing and then haven't again in like 80 runs.
Could you make a video about your runelite base settings? I mean your screen looks so smooth it's crazy.. eg at Kephri there's no mud and stuff on the ground like on my screen, it's so zen
I had a few questions about this so I did a community post with all my settings. Hope it helps!
Awesome video, well put together! How did you make the thumbnail? Its epic
Used mid journey to use a background I liked and edited it all in Canva. Thanks!
I thought that useful prayer plugin was banned. What is the name of that if it’s not?
The reorganizing one? Jagex recently green lit that (like a month or 2 ago I think?) pretty sure it's default in runelite now. You either right click the prayer icon... Or maybe ctrl or shift right click and select "prayer reordering"
this guide is sick
Very very good guide
what plugin do you use for graphics? 117 HD? looks super clean
Yeah I use the 117 HD, under "UI Scaling Mode" I set it to xBR and I have Anti-Aliasing disabled. I really enjoy the look! Also the pinkish hue my menus have are an option under "resource packs"
What makes your floors look bare? I really like that!
@@LheimreyI believe that is Low Detail mode in 117 HD
@@dako91196 yup that's it!
Great tips here but not a fan of overusing tile indicators
question, how do you have the swarms highlighted, what is the ID for the true tiles.
excellent guide
Things I need to do:
Learn wave skip
Turn on pickaxe plugin
Learn butterfly
Ladder skip
Akkha dps skip
Baba red x (moving during cycle too)
They are all pretty useful! I would say ladder skip is the least useful of the bunch UNLESS you're going with people you don't trust to do memory right or if you have the double trouble invocation added
