All succesfull football clubs in Europe have 100 years of history, of national and international success. They are tightly tied to their cities/towns of origin. That makes people in Europe have a very special place in their hearts for their clubs which they follow since they are children. The problem with the U.S. is the way sports are run. Its all franchises which start randomly out of nowhere, can change home ground to an entirely different city or state, rosters for the teams are predetermined by the governing body etc. They just start as business plans to exploit a market with millions of dollars to spend/invest. In Europe all clubs started from the ground up, start from the roots, from the lowest of leagues, from amateurs who just loved the sport and fought hard to get wins, promotion, supporters, trophies, income and earn the spot they are today. They write their history step by step. It was a natural evolution. In the US its unnatural in many sports, in many ways. I think (although I dont have the knowledge) that the only sports clubs in the US that started similarly to European football clubs are the baseball teams but its a boring sport without any international interest.
If you want to follow a US sport that is most similar to European/world football from a fan perspective/how the teams started/a lot of history and tradition, you should look into college football. First college football game is only like a decade after the first football club was founded (first college football game was in 1869) and it is extremely regional/traditional/etc. & you’d be surprised at how big it is as well, 8/10 of the largest stadiums in the world are college football stadiums.

Hey, the US soccer fans are doing a great job. You compared them to European fan events, which were exceptions but don't happen at every game. Soccer fan culture is great and it's pretty cool to see it spreading in the US as well. As a fan of a European team, it would be an honor to have a fan partnership with a US team
4:23 Remember that football in Europe are 100 years ahead of the US. Much of the intense passion in Europe is from the time with city states where every major city had it's own army to defend the city. Now the fans and ultras are the defenders and the war is fought on the football pitch by the teams.
100% true, that’s why the best American comparison to football in Europe is College football. American College football is about as old as European football (first European club Sheffield United founded in 1857, first college football game was in 1869) & the way fans follow the sport is very similar (very regional, tribal fanbases, huge/intense rivalries, loads of tradition that make the sport special).
@arekzawistowski2609 Did the rivalries end with the end of city states? NO! It carried on and changed shape so now the battles are settled at the football pitch instead of the battle field. They make same comparison in the video Why ultras are important for football.
😂😂😂you did the Best Reactions by far😂😂 in the US the Soccer Culture is very young...the Best Fans are in Argentina, Mexiko Turkye Greece Serbia and Maroco, also in Italy Germany Netherland France😊
come on dudes... youve got to admit they are catching up... when my club was founded, there were only 38 States... wouldnt be fair comparing "American Football" crowds in Europe vs USA either, would it? keep it up.
I love NFL …absolutely But NFL it’s like the crowd goes to a show In Europe you’re giving your heart, passion ….it’s something like a religion, your faith…. You may don’t know the guy aside you, but in the moment you’re celebrating your team it doesn’t matter who this man is at that moment you’re all stand together for our team… Only your family is higher on value…
Basic difference is that in the USA only a small portion of the visitors(pun intended) are active, most act like they are in the opera house. In Europe, everyone join.
We have a shared religion in Europe and South America, it doesn't need a translator. I think about my team, transfers and fixtures everyday multiple times and I have done since I was about 4 years old. It's very important and is always as the back of my mind all the time. It's generational, all my family for 3 or 4 generations have gone to watch the same team, in the same stadium. Its the fear of missing things as well I think. Some of my best memories are from football.
Im actually surprised the US fans are going beyond their “I believe that we can win” 😂😂 however they can never have the passion of South American or European fans where their football team is not entertainment but a symbol of their identity, a key part of life and living. Over 100 years of tradition passed from father to son now days women too ❤ generation after generation of fans supporting the same team meaning your town, your friends your family.
@@pascalbeutler612 In Europe countries have been rivals as you know so its not just between towns and cities and in some countries politics is involved and passion so i dont think the US can be 100% the same .
For Europeans, football is a religion. You will have the FIFA World Cup in the USA. Many Europeans will come to you and we will teach you how to support ;)
Looks like American fans have taken inspiration abroad. Keep it up. There is still hope. Lots of room for improvement, but significantly better than a few years ago!

19:13 the difference it's you can hear boum boum but Europeans are in no way afraid that it might be someone with a gun, which is not the case in the USA.
Fun facts about synchronized jumping... At Denmark's national football stadium, a ban has been introduced because it is feared that the stands will not be able to withstand it, so they are in the process of investigating what can be done... So no jumping until safety is in place... ☝🥺
There was a tragedy in France in Furiani (Corsica) in 1992. The stand was poorly built and collapsed when the supporters started stamping their feet. There were 18 deaths and thousands injured. Since then, it is not the movements of supporters that have been regulated (that's impossible) but the construction.
I you want to understand more about this topic I would recommend this: ''Why Ultras Are So Important For Football'' by ''COPA90 Stories'' Ultras cheer for all popular sports in their respective towns, not only football. But main thing is football. Ultras are political in a sense defending their town values as in time of city states. Rivalries go back to medieval times.
Yes, about France the rivalry between Paris and Marseille began for historic reasons. France is a very centralized country, and has been for a very long time. In the Middle Age Marseille was a prosperous city thanks to its position on the Mediterranean. Later, with Louis XIV, the royal power took over the wealth of Marseille, which caused a rivalry, which still lasts. Also of course because of cultural differences and others...
Green shoots! Considering where they were 20 years ago, this is a major improvement. You can't build the decades of fanaticism and involvement of European fans in a few years, but it WILL come. You just need to FEEL it the way we do... and btw... Fans in The Premier League, widely recognised as the best League in the world, have NOTHING to compare with the sheer spectacle generated by European fans. Football is literally a religion throughout Europe

Have you seen " World's Greatest Football Fans: Ultras/Europe " ?? That really shows the noise and passion from Serbia/Bosnia/Turkey/Greece/Germany/Bulgaria etc..
France..😊
@@Magpsg C'est vrai, mon ami😀
servia only has gipsy fans 😂
Hey, the US soccer fans are doing a great job. You compared them to European fan events, which were exceptions but don't happen at every game.
Soccer fan culture is great and it's pretty cool to see it spreading in the US as well.
As a fan of a European team, it would be an honor to have a fan partnership with a US team
Cheers from Poland, you are trying nice, but the long way is waiting for you.
European fans are a different level but the American fans impressed me. They didn't embarrass themselves in this video.

Remember that football in Europe are 100 years ahead of the US.
US fans are actually way better than imagined, but still no competition to European fans
Great to see US FC fans are getting there!!!
😂😂😂you did the Best Reactions by far😂😂 in the US the Soccer Culture is very young...the Best Fans are in Argentina, Mexiko Turkye Greece Serbia and Maroco, also in Italy Germany Netherland France😊
lol yes but like others are saying - I forgot about TITLE and thought of countries with amazing fans.....but this was just EUROPE Vs......
every country in europe has some good fanbases. but well done naming all the countries from the video :D
@@UltrasRapid1992 Rapid hab ich vergessen, ich bin Gladbach Anhänger
@@gernotjanssen2327 Ach das war garnicht auf mich/Rapid bezogen. Gibt ja auch wirklich in vielen Ländern gute Szenen.
We have good fans in Scotland
Turky is crazy, i saw interviews of players, who said they didnt understand each other on the pitch, because it was so loud. Crazy crowd!
To be honest and fare us fan as improved a lot these past years. Good for u
You have to understand. European teams created their chants way before USA could think of having professional sports.
Ultras de l Olympique de Marseille, niveau tifo et fumi on est pas mal !!! Liberté pour les Ultras 💙 🤍
come on dudes... youve got to admit they are catching up... when my club was founded, there were only 38 States... wouldnt be fair comparing "American Football" crowds in Europe vs USA either, would it? keep it up.
Usa football fans finally get it well done
Greece was not even in there, or Marseille. They have some awsome fans.
I love NFL …absolutely
But NFL it’s like the crowd goes to a show
In Europe you’re giving your heart, passion ….it’s something like a religion, your faith….
You may don’t know the guy aside you, but in the moment you’re celebrating your team it doesn’t matter who this man is at that moment you’re all stand together for our team…
Only your family is higher on value…
The first foötball/soccerclub was formed in 1840 in England. The sport spread like wildfire.
Scotland invented the modern game of football not England
@@Parker_Douglasscotland invented golf and curling and shinty. Not football
Fun fact, even in basketball, eu fans go crazy, you have flairs all over, the court shaking from the chants and jumping
Basic difference is that in the USA only a small portion of the visitors(pun intended) are active, most act like they are in the opera house.
In Europe,everyone join.
12:22 there is actually a clip of Eintracht Frankfurt , where they show how the tribune is moving up and down because of the fans
US Fans are getting better, congrats!! But please don’t increase to much, we wanna stay the best haha lol
Europe Ultras forever!!!!!!!
@@pascalbeutler612 In Europe countries have been rivals as you know so its not just between towns and cities and in some countries politics is involved and passion so i dont think the US can be 100% the same .
I am actually surprised bout the US potential its not bad probably cuz of the Latinos and Asians tbh i wonder how the US will be in the WC 2026
For Europeans, football is a religion. You will have the FIFA World Cup in the USA. Many Europeans will come to you and we will teach you how to support ;)
Second european clip shows the famous " sudtribune " in Dortmund holding 25000 alone.
2:44 Why do they have a hamburger on their banner?
They are americans🤷♂️
When you need drums and a guy with a microphone leading the chants to create your atmosphere. 😂😂
Liverpool in my heart from Ukraine
eintracht frankfurt theme is also just: pippi langkaus. or pippi longstockings. but remade.
Looks like American fans have taken inspiration abroad. Keep it up. There is still hope. Lots of room for improvement, but significantly better than a few years ago!
Argentina in Europe who doesn't know, and in germany the fans in the 4th division are as good as the fans from the first division and the 2nd divison has the 3rd most viewers per game in the world
1. 1 Bundesliga (germany)
2. Premier League (i think) (england)
3. 2 Bundesliga (germany)
And we have flares too in germany, for example watch the Dortmund fans in the Champions League final 24'
There's flares in every country. Even some of the American clips here. Canada is the only place I can't recall seeing flares at one point
well, that more fair comparison, showing better ones on both sides rather than showing average ones on one side and good ones on the other, btw, i am from eu
While usa was crawling in football, europa was running. please know your place Moreover Besiktas is first in the world with a sound record of 142 decibels. Additionally, another match the opposing team's player had to leave the game because of the sound. There is no other example of this. The name of the player who left the game is Timo Werner. As for the fans, the world champion Beşiktas with compositions and energy.

The Drum,... with ESPN on it. OMG.
Good job, US really picked it up compared to a few years ago. I'd say it's still not yet at the level of, say, Red Star vs Partizan or any of the Greek or Turkish derbies, but it's good! 👍
The original video didn't even show the most impressive stuff from Europe. Can you imagine. Watch some Legia Warszawa videos or if you are interested some top 10 compilations.
I also made a video comparing european and south american fans (Argentina in there too). Make sure to react to that too ;)
Great video, maybe you can find one that isn't Europe so you can see Argentina fans being super fans.
Imagine being a Football Player sitting in the locker Room while the Stadium shakes from the Fans
Football/soccer fans are never underrated
Of course he is a legend. Biggest nerd ever in a stadium
You have a better image in the same stadiun where the build struture is shaking by the fan´s jumping.
love for our SGE Eintracht Frankfurt
19:13 the difference it's you can hear boum boum but Europeans are in no way afraid that it might be someone with a gun, which is not the case in the USA.
Вот с теми радужными флагами у фанов Портленда в какой нибудь Турции 100% возникли бы большие проблемы, да и в моей родной России тоже
American " but we have freedom, you don't... Europe " hold my beer"
as european who goes some times on the field ... police only escorts to the right sector - and ... then no fire arms but pyro is .....
you know fans are hardcore when the security is in riot gear and ready to act on the dime
Fun facts about synchronized jumping...
At Denmark's national football stadium, a ban has been introduced because it is feared that
the stands will not be able to withstand it, so they are in the process of investigating what can be done...
So no jumping until safety is in place... ☝🥺
in croatia they made new stadiums to be felxibile, like japanese buildings lol, to move with shaking or jumping lol...
@@boredutopia I actually think that is one of the solutions they are considering...
There was a tragedy in France in Furiani (Corsica) in 1992. The stand was poorly built and collapsed when the supporters started stamping their feet. There were 18 deaths and thousands injured. Since then, it is not the movements of supporters that have been regulated (that's impossible) but the construction.
there is a video of fans dancing on the second floor of the stadium, the floor is filmed from below and the whole floor is shaking.
I you want to understand more about this topic I would recommend this: ''Why Ultras Are So Important For Football'' by ''COPA90 Stories''
Ultras cheer for all popular sports in their respective towns, not only football.
Fc Cincinaty.. that was absolutly nice. From Ger
fun fact. if 2 teams play. and chairs get thrown.
its basically a warzone. with military police needing to step in.
I think you guys are slowly getting it in some places, but its still not the same 😂
USA starts creating ultras group, they are far better than before. Hope they will be ready for WC2026
As a European Football fan, the US is doing quite good but cant compare to the European fans
