And some people tell me my voice has a natural ASMR quality.
I can't remember who, but someone said Alton Brown described his cooking show as 1/3 Julia Chile, 1/3 Monty Python, and 1/3 Mister Wizard. He described my cooking videos as 1/3 Julia Child, 1/3 woodshop teacher, and 1/3 teddy bear. I think he nailed it perfectly. Thanks again for the positive feedback Mark. -Dennis
Nifty whisk!! Like it! Will chuck a wire whisk into my electric drill; I'll let you know how it works!! ;D Good looking shrimps too!!
Thanks for the tip on the cast iron pan. I didn't have one at the time, but I have one now. I'll keep this in mind for future oil frying. And thanks for the feedback on my videos.-Dennis
You do know that they say deveined but they only deveine the top if you look at the bottom part of the shrimp it has another vein that they leave on I always remove that one as well..
Miguel, you're right. The bottom one truly is a vein. The one along the back is actually the shrimp's intestine and down toward the end, well, you know. You can remove both, but the one along the back really needs to go. Thanks for the comment. -Dennis
@@MobileHomeGourmet Right. I REALLY wish people could just deal with what it is. At this point I'm surprised there isn't an effort to call it 'grooming' or some other hyper-woke term
Hi Dennis i'm from Canada. I'm new to your UA-cam channel but I must say I'm loving every minute of it. I made you beer battered shrimp with triple fried French fries. Absolutely loved it, I've now subscribed 👍
Cool apron !
Your videos are soooo relaxing because you have such gentle soft sounding voice. If you google ASMR videos you will see that you could be a star in this genre. You don't need to fry those battered shrimp in all that oil. You could just put some in a cast iron frying pan (3/4 inch) and cook them on one side then flip them. That way you save on oil. Cheers Dennis
It's 2024 , it looks delicious. You are a legend 👏🎉
Now I’m making shrimp for dinner 😋. That looks really good.
I would have really liked to see the batter when you finished it. I want to see the consistency of it.
I'm not particularly passionate about shrimp, but this recipe looks delicious. I especially like how you experiment and taste your way to a homemade tartar sauce that you'll enjoy. As other people have said, your style reminds me of Julia Child. Yours is a less flamboyant and perhaps more "precise" method of cooking, but the same passion is evident in all your recipes. I absolutely adore Julia, so I hope you take my comment as the compliment it is intended to be. In any case, thank you for yet another wonderful recipe.
Love your beach towel apron :~)) Like always Thanls for another Alton video/recipe. I got to agree with offthewalls you do remind me a lil bit of Julia too ib a good professioal way buy still have the humor of Alton. Then neverless the great outcome of another great recipe done by whitetrashcooking tyvm and I will enjoy this when I make some myself
Looks deelish. I can't imagine having a lemon tree in my yard and not using them. BTW, that silicone lid is one of the best kitchen do dads I've seen!!!
Hi! do you think this recipe would work with sole or other fish? I am doing the shrimp tonight, and then I remembered that I have sole fillets also, and it crossed my mind. Mmm. would this batter work on them?
or even onion rings, maybe?
Although I haven't tried it, I think it would work well, even on the onion rings. Now I want to try it too. -Dennis

The shrimp looks delish!
Yum they look fantastic! Love the batter, thank you
Looks bomb
These look fantastic.
Add "some" Woeber's horseradish sauce to your tarter sauce..
You will be amazed
I forgot to mention I do mt use tater sauce for shrimp I think you should use cocktail sauce which can be made pretty easy as well. Tater sauce is good for fish but there is different strokes for different folks. I'm glad you did share the tater sauce recipe
Thank you.
You're welcome!
I use Mazola corn oil.
