I think using your tongue is more effective for the TMJ. It's a great morning exercise 👍

Thanks for another lesson. I expected something similar to using a gua sha roller as that’s a cool stone too. Interesting that is different. Much more grounding effect.

You are welcome-- the rock is surprising to me every time I work with them..

Just curious is it more effective to use your tongue which you demonstrated in the video rather than puffing air into your cheeks until its full like a chipmunk? Do you ever do that or do you mainly stick to pushing your tongue from side to side?

Good question- I have tried that, but find the solid contact of my tongue connecting to the rock gives much more feedback to my nervous system. You could try stuffing acorns or walnuts in your cheeks though. :)

How about using a Gua Sha roller instead of the rock?

The roller won't have the same intention or effect-- the rock provides a more passive and magnetic, solid effect from the minerals in them to the connection they have with the earth. Rocks also help quiet the nervous system with their passive, ancient weight. You can certainly try the roller, but a rock has a very different effect and intention.

Yes, that makes sense. It probably would be good to hold the rock and set an intention?
